Reniat returns to her home village after years away at boarding school to find that the village is nearly deserted. The mine that the village depended on heavily for boosting its economy and tourism has been overrun by monsters and no one has bothered doing anything about it. Having trained as an adventurer, she decides to see what she can do about reviving the town and making a name for herself in the world.

Homework Salesman is a life simulation game with an emphasis on dungeon exploration, completing quests, crafting new equipment and items, and befriending the people in town. The game takes inspiration from the Rune Factory and Atelier series.

Features
  • Befriend each villager by talking to them every day and giving them gifts. Higher friendship levels allow you to learn each NPC's personal story and can also gain you access to new shop items, skills, hidden goodies, and more.

  • Unique items means that each item in the game is treated as a separate object. You can rename equipment, find rare versions of them, upgrade and repair them (weapons have durability), and even enchant them. You can have several iron swords each with different enchantments on them.

  • Six unique crafts: Cooking, Smithing, Tailoring, Enchanting, Alchemy, and Construction.

  • Quests are divided into two categories: story quests that propel your adventure forward, and side quests that are procedurally generated.

  • Features a world encounter system where you can find random events in field maps or dungeons, such as traveling merchants or a bandit who'll offer to spare you for money (or you can kill him)

  • Enemy encounters and (most) treasure chests are randomly placed on maps. You typically won't find the same monster encounter in the same dungeon spot every time. Treasure chest contents are randomly drawn from a pool of items appropriate for the zone you're in. You can also find unique weapons with randomized names, stats, and enchantments.

that's not so easy, first the boss is faster than all character even with lightest armor (eagan in level 13 with hide and boots have 29 agility Raimur have 30) except if you enchanted your armor to have higher agility. you can't act before boss.
thunderball does not work all the time, and not everyone have +10 steel sword (I don't even have +1 of any weapon), and sword dance require full TP.
I am really not sure how do you manage to inflict 1500 damage with a bow, except if you upgrade a quiver, witch is a waste of time (quiver can't be repaired)
also boisterity level 2 is not available so you must use a level 1 version (3% does not worth the trouble)

My specs:
-Xebec- Level 12 - attack power 101
+10 Steel Sword
+10 Great Bow
Iron Helm with att+6% x3
Iron Plate with att+6% x3
Iron Gauntlets with att+6% x3
Drink wine for 20% more att
Level 3 Sword Dance (Each strike hits for 130%x5 = 650% damage) = Boss is crying

!st- You can upgrade the bow and it adds to the damage. You can also equip a 1-hand weapon in your hand along with a bow. You get all the damage from the bow plus your main hand weapon. It makes for some extreme damage.
2nd- Elunium can be mined from the same room where the Q boss is. Quick save in front of the stash to remine until you get about 2-3 elunium per day.
3rd- Boisterity 2 wont be available until after you beat raimur. You get a single blue recipe book from it but dont just use it. Make sure to quick save before reading it so you can reload until you get the enchant you want.

Oh, come on what's the fun in save scumming.
I am pretty sure you should not use quick save for this purpose, they probably wanted to add a system that delete quick save as soon as you load it. the only save option that is intended is in your bed room (like harvest moon) and before boss battles. however the game have some bugs so quick save is currently needed.
and equipping bow and sword is a bug that I didn't know about :P.

but still it work really good, thanks for letting me know :D. but since it remove all challenge and need for thinking I don't use it (a lot :P).

I just found a huge bug that I am fixing right now, a new version should be up tonight to fix this.

Sorry to ask, but did the bug involve NPCs freezing (from the cutscene) and not being able to exit the main guild hall when reentering the guild at any time after being assigned the super grindy quest? Since I have my old HS installation I ported my save there and it works normal. I save there and tried loading my save on my new installation, and it's still buggy!

I just warped back. Game was patched, but issue still remains ... :(

Seems the bug got introduced in the next to last version. It doesn't happen in the older version.

I guess in the meantime, if I need to enter the guild, I'll transfer my save to the old version.

Yes, you get the super grind quest once you return to the guild right after it. It is that event where the game seems to get stuck if you reenter the guild afterwards.

No, I get the quest way before finishing Mine #2 (for about 10 days at least), I think super grind and such quests depends on how friendly you are with Zethos.
right after I finished the mine#2 and see the event with the miner, I reenter the guild and all events freeze, (you can't exit or talk to anyone and you see miner, Zethos and Horton)

Actually, you're right! I guess I things a bit confused. Yeah, it's strange that you can still move ... I have found similar bugs in other games but everything just gets stuck.

I am not sure if this was intentional or its just overlooked. It's not that much important either. but
the weapon health lowered before damage calculation, so If for example you have a weapon with 2 health and use a skill that use 2 weapon health, your weapon health reach zero and will be removed and you perform the skill with your fists.
I think weapon health must be calculated after damage calculation (though I am not sure if it's possible or not), its the same thing for critical, If you use concentrate with Ankaba and use a group healing spell, only the first member of your parry receive critical healing, everyone else receive a normal healing.

All high damage does is make the boss battle go faster. You dont automatically win because they have a lot of hp so tactics are still required. Robert and Colorous could still kill my party in one turn if they wanted to so I didnt feel the least bit guilty with this setup (in earlier versions I was even invincible). And save scumming is just a personal preference issue. You could spend 120 game days mining for elunium or you could just MAKE SURE you always leave with a few every day you go mine. Its just cutting out the grinding which is a really miserable part of video games these days. If save scumming lets me have fun and grinding doesnt, then what do you think im going to choose?

-SIDE NOTE ON WEAPON HP-

A really annoying aspect to note on weapon health is that when you use a skill that would reduce your weapon below zero, breaking the weapon causes that skill to immediately hit AS THOUGH YOU DIDNT HAVE A WEAPON EQUIPPED. You may not notice a huge difference with normal weapons but anyone with a really powerful/upgraded weapon will notice their damage plummet. Ive done a triple shot with the bow and the 2nd shot broke it. My first shot would hit for around 500 and the other two would hit for 200.

as I said it work for you, I don't have any thing against save scumming, I do it a lot (maybe not for this game).

about weapon health
Well, I have tried to say the same thing :P but Komanire explain it better.
We'll look into that for Chapter 2. For now, it's unlikely we're going to make any formula changes. Right now we're focused on gamebreaking bugs and a few remaining character events.
The biggest thing was that since I had beaten the game in version K and done a huge amount of testing for Diedrupo, I had no intention of grinding back resources every time I test out a new version. Most of my testing was so see how powerful the player can get in chapter 1 and determine if that was too much too early. Power and money had to be toned down quite a bit since then and the stats I gave you were just me showing the absolute highest damage achievable in chapter 1 as of version J. Its actually somewhat unrealistic without a lot grinding so its really just a best cast scenario and should be treated as such.

Is it possible to lose friendship point?
edit: yes you can :|, through gifting fish to Zathos.

and you were right, damage of blade dance is ridiculously high
author=meisam
Is it possible to lose friendship point?

There are 4 different levels of gifting and a couple other methods for raising bond levels:

-Gifting-
Dont like: -5 Points (Fish to Zathos/Monster Loot to Meracon)
Accept: +1 Point (Torch to Qwilte/Potion to Milly)
Like: +5 Points (Iron to Boss/Lucky Lunch to Horton)
Love: +15 Points (Gift box to Bertram/Elunium to Connie)

-Other-
Complete a quest: +5 Points (Food Delivery for Liffely/Herbs for Yeardley)
Invite to party: +5 Points (Eagen/Xebec/Ankaba)

Each person has different likes and dislikes itll take some experimenting to find out what they want. Also note that some NPCs are just really hard to bond with regardless of what you try (Gunsqueak/Jarell).

And yeah Blade Dance now costs all of your TP because of how devastating it is. You used to be able to spam it without any drawback whatsoever.

So, I managed to beat Chapter 1 for a second time. First time, I managed to do it in 24 days. This time, it took me 17 days. Seems there are some more BB quests after that, plus the other Guild Quest after the Super Grind. After I finish those, then I can finally write my review ...

Sorry and thanks for the savefile, Diedrupo. I went ahead and played with the save I had.
