Reniat returns to her home village after years away at boarding school to find that the village is nearly deserted. The mine that the village depended on heavily for boosting its economy and tourism has been overrun by monsters and no one has bothered doing anything about it. Having trained as an adventurer, she decides to see what she can do about reviving the town and making a name for herself in the world.

Homework Salesman is a life simulation game with an emphasis on dungeon exploration, completing quests, crafting new equipment and items, and befriending the people in town. The game takes inspiration from the Rune Factory and Atelier series.

Features
  • Befriend each villager by talking to them every day and giving them gifts. Higher friendship levels allow you to learn each NPC's personal story and can also gain you access to new shop items, skills, hidden goodies, and more.

  • Unique items means that each item in the game is treated as a separate object. You can rename equipment, find rare versions of them, upgrade and repair them (weapons have durability), and even enchant them. You can have several iron swords each with different enchantments on them.

  • Six unique crafts: Cooking, Smithing, Tailoring, Enchanting, Alchemy, and Construction.

  • Quests are divided into two categories: story quests that propel your adventure forward, and side quests that are procedurally generated.

  • Features a world encounter system where you can find random events in field maps or dungeons, such as traveling merchants or a bandit who'll offer to spare you for money (or you can kill him)

  • Enemy encounters and (most) treasure chests are randomly placed on maps. You typically won't find the same monster encounter in the same dungeon spot every time. Treasure chest contents are randomly drawn from a pool of items appropriate for the zone you're in. You can also find unique weapons with randomized names, stats, and enchantments.

Done with the chapter as well. 36 days and Lv. 9. This was a most fascinating experience.

I'll write my review for it as well.

Not quite. Go visit the statue in the screen to the left of the one with the entrance to the mines. You'll need to fight once more. If you had trouble before, get ready for an even tougher boss fight. Good luck! :}

thanks mate. I am finished too :P

edit: I will be gone for 3 month, I hope when I come back I can play the second chapter :D
Ive got an interesting idea. How about everyone who finishes post their save file on their locker for everyone else to check out. I think it would be interesting to see how everyone gone about beating the game and it would be a neat way to commemorate chapter 1.

You're welcome! So you're going to do some military training, right? Hopefully when you get back you'll get a nice meal the way Reniat got went she first got home. Don't go AWOL on us ...

Perhaps Died and Ronove can set up page for that. A hall of fame??

yeah, its a conscription. 3 month is the training part and I can't exit the base, but the next 1.5 year I am free for half of a day :D. I must complete my game so I will get back and ask you to write a game description for me :).
Here's mine: http://rpgmaker.net/users/Kormanire/locker/Save5.rvdata2
Save slot 5

Its a little extreme compared to normal playthroughs but I still had to beat everything legitimately.

Not bad at all sir. I can see you put a lot of work into leveling your weapon skills and NPC bonds. And you really like cooking lol.

LOL, same goes for you, ugh if it tried to do those gifting sooner I could have level 2 enchanting recipe too (that's the only thing I am lacking apparently I also lack tailoring recipe :S), and cooking was the only way to gain some money without need to go out hunting (buy cook sell, buy cook sell,....) :D.
edit: check my chests all of them are full of junk :P

I see it more as a cool idea for a fan to maintain, perhaps on a separate website or blog.

I have all the blue book recipes because Diedrupo gave them to me for testing. You wont really be getting all of them until chapter 2 or unless he releases another patch to provide better access.

The biggest thing I noticed was that you had issues with money. Most people will unless they work a skill that gives a lot of money. Enchanting is where the money is at though even after all the nerfs you can still make about 100,000g a day with lvl 50 enchanting. It used to be about 500,000g a day before that, but still, if you want to buy everything and fully enchant all of your gear then enchanting is the way to go.

you are wrong Kormanire, even a level 20 wall enchant won't give you money it drain your money, you need to buy a lesser (700) + green orb (250) for a total of 950 but you can sell it for 600, you loss 300 money in the process (all enchant that I can make sell for 600) will a level 1 need a minor (250) + orb (250) you gain 100 money. and as you see my next level target is a level 30 "repair 1" it need a black orb and black orb need level 35 enchanting to acquire, witch mean it take a very long time to reach this level.

I can accept it, because enchanting is very powerful and should not be source of money too, will food don't give you much in combat so it can be good for making money. its all about balance.
edit: Also fishing can be a great source of money just sell anything above 150 and cook the rest, however it only increase scavenger and fish pool is limited.
edit 2: also for the record "desert base" require milk (150) suger and bottle of water (50) for a total 200 and will sell around 600, you acquire 400
Lvl 1 repair is where the money is right now. They sell for 4706g and only cost 1500 to make. Before version K they used to sell for 9700g and before version L you could buy black orbs in the dojo for 10g each and you could make repair lvl 1 for 260g and sell for 4706g. Enchanting is untouchable in terms of making money but you have to sink a ton of money into it first. Diedrupo hasnt modified the prices completely during testing so some things are still a little lopsided. Any green or blue enchant lvl 2 or higher will cost you money. Until you reach level 35 enchanting will almost always cost you money... sometimes a lot of it.

EDIT:
Here is a quick leveling guide for it: (Assume you are using beserker pots)
1-10 make 42 Any lvl 1 enchant for 187g profit (7854 total profit)
10-20 make 42 Lvl 2 Drowned enchant for 263g loss (11046 total loss)
20-35 make 292 Lvl 2 Wall enchant for 263g loss (76796 total loss)
35+ sell Lvl 1 Repair enchant for 3206g profit

Man are you serious? you know that for level 30-35 I am just progressing 1 point per enchant right? well with berserk its probably 2.
It take 1000 energy :O or 5 full day to bring it from 30 to 35 and I am not counting the amount of resource you must gather for berserker.
If I want to be very realistic it take at least 7 day of enchanting non stop. Yeah enchant may bring fortune, If you reach that skill level. But reaching that level is another matter.

edit: you said you had all level 2 recipe right? so It seems I don't have any choice anyway, If I want to level up enchant I must follow this route, might as well do it earlier. ugh, its not good.
On my first playthrough in version K, I didnt beat the game until I had like 68 enchanting and 2.5 million gold. I ended up beating the game around day 120 and was completely invincible at the time. Good thing for balancing eh?

Enchanting could have been refined further but the dev team wanted to finish events and prepare for chapter 2 after all the balancing that had already taken place. In a way this is kind of balanced because while you can make huge amounts of money doing enchanting, you have to grind through several slow levels and lose a lot of money. You arent really supposed to be making 100,000+ per day in chapter 1 so this acts like a deterrent to anyone looking for quick money. I wouldnt worry about it too much though because when chapter 2 arrives there will be plenty more balancing and bug fixes.

EDIT: Dont worry about all those lvl 2 recipes. Most of them are from blue recipe books and they arent readily available as of 1.0L
So I was playing this game for 14 hours straight and forgot to eat lunch three times. I'm currently on day 42, level 10, fourth floor.

IT WORTH IT.
CCan I ask what's the flute for? I know it raise many stats, HP, MP, Mag, Luk, almost everything, and plus 3 attack each turn, but what else does it for? Will there be any skill for it in the future? What about the bards you met? Um, um, and one more questions! Does everytime your friendship level evolve, will there be a cutscene for it? (because Meracon wouldn't give a cutscene when I leveled his friendship to two :( ) (And Eagen on lvl 3) (Xebec lvl 3 too) I have some glitches I'd like to report, but I'm playing the 10j version, so I think it's all gone now. Thank you for this wonderful game, I especially love the 'no game over' concept, because I just hate seeing that screen, sometimes I think I have a game over phobia. And plus that SSP reference the merchant gave on the Colorus Cave. I gave a fangirl squeal. PEACE.

On Flutes: yes they have abilities but you have to find the person to sell them to you. Both of the available abilities are really nice but are also really expensive. Also Reniat seems to be the only one that can use them =\

On NPC levels: the dev team is finishing up a couple more events but almost everyone has events up to 3 stars as of version 1.0L, however some events are more subtle than others and require certain locations to trigger. Meracon's events are both weapon training for instance so check to see if you have had those. Xebec's 3 star isnt ready yet and Eagen's 3 star you must sleep in your bed before it will trigger.

On SSP: There is another SSP reference if you get a certain red haired girl's bond level to 3 stars "wink wink"
