Premise
Reniat returns to her home village after years away at boarding school to find that the village is nearly deserted. The mine that the village depended on heavily for boosting its economy and tourism has been overrun by monsters and no one has bothered doing anything about it. Having trained as an adventurer, she decides to see what she can do about reviving the town and making a name for herself in the world.

Homework Salesman is a life simulation game with an emphasis on dungeon exploration, completing quests, crafting new equipment and items, and befriending the people in town. The game takes inspiration from the Rune Factory and Atelier series.

Features
  • Befriend each villager by talking to them every day and giving them gifts. Higher friendship levels allow you to learn each NPC's personal story and can also gain you access to new shop items, skills, hidden goodies, and more.

  • Unique items means that each item in the game is treated as a separate object. You can rename equipment, find rare versions of them, upgrade and repair them (weapons have durability), and even enchant them. You can have several iron swords each with different enchantments on them.

  • Six unique crafts: Cooking, Smithing, Tailoring, Enchanting, Alchemy, and Construction.

  • Quests are divided into two categories: story quests that propel your adventure forward, and side quests that are procedurally generated.

  • Features a world encounter system where you can find random events in field maps or dungeons, such as traveling merchants or a bandit who'll offer to spare you for money (or you can kill him)

  • Enemy encounters and (most) treasure chests are randomly placed on maps. You typically won't find the same monster encounter in the same dungeon spot every time. Treasure chest contents are randomly drawn from a pool of items appropriate for the zone you're in. You can also find unique weapons with randomized names, stats, and enchantments.

1/27/14 - v1.2
- The last two bosses in the game will now put up an anti-frazzle shield if they get hit successfully by frazzle three times. This shield will dissipate after 2 turns. Note that it doesn't count just frazzling the boss, it will count if you frazzle any boss minions in the fight.
- The Treasure Hunter couple will now appear in the ending cut-scene if you saw their world event.
- Fixed bugs related to Liffely's cooking delivery service.
- Fixed bugs related to the 2nd Colorous Cave quest.
- Fixed a bug where if you somehow manage to defeat the 3rd floor bosses on the same day as defeating Plutonus, the magic shop NPCs would not move into town.
- Added several easter eggs, most of which are references to early testers and other people in the community.
- You now get a quest telling you what to do next if you defeat a certain field boss after defeating the last boss of the Caves for the first time.
- Fixed cut-scene bugs related to the Westerlys move in quest.
- Fixed the Beer recipe so that it tells you that you learned how to make Beer instead of Cheese.
- Fixed the case where using L/R would cause the game to crash when browsing recipes in the library.
- Other miscellaneous bug fixes that I don't recall at the moment.

- Fixed situation where you were not able to trigger the event with Zathus to turn in the 2nd Colorous Cave quest.

Fixed an issue that could cause the party to spawn with you if you respawn from running out of AP. Fixed an issue that could cause Zathus's character event to not be turned off after completion. Added Battle4 bgm file to the Audio\BGM folder. Life Essence and Ressurect now have animations when used on party members.
5/14 - v1.0h Fixed the Super Grind quest so that it can be turned in now.
5/12 - v1.0g Adjusted the difficulty of the last two bosses and fixed an issue where you could get stuck if you fell down certain holes on the 5th floor.
5/11 - v1.0f Fixed a passability issue on the 4th floor of the cave that occurred after defeating Langian. Fixed an issue that could cause Warp to stop working after seeing a world event on the 3rd floor of the cave.
5/08 - v1.0e Added all RTP audio SEs and a couple other files that the resource checker did not pick up. Fixed an issue that could cause a chapter 2 event to appear.
5/07 - v1.0d Fixed an issue where an npc could be stuck in cave walls. Fixed the skill Templar Strike so that it attacks enemies instead of the party. Added the sound effect Cat.ogg for non-rtp users.

Oh I also forgot to mention that I can warp in town too, is that considered as a glitch since you'r not supposed to warp in town?

I think there's a few glitches in the game, there's one where I can't get the daily weapons from Xebec. The next one is where I upgraded my enchanter and it doesn't show the icon and the game shuts down every 30-50 mins,I have to always quick save so that I won't lose my progress :/
Really? I've never had the game crash on me, so that's a new one. I don't always go get Xeb's weapons but every time I remember to do so they are always there, but maybe there is a limit set and I just haven't hit it. Do you mean the little bobby icon above the enchanting station in your study? Yeah mine went away after I'd upgraded from 1 to 2 but you can still access the station and use it, so that's just cosmetic.

The game crashing thing is a big one, but surely with the autosave the most you would lose is the current room/map you are in since it saves for you every-time you change maps or walk through a door. Still the devs will want to know so they can see what the issue is, I'm sure.

When the game first started to crash, I thought it was some error, but now it happens quite frequently, so i only play the game an hour at a time :((

Yeah it does add an extra bit of fun because you really want to know what those treasures are (though sometimes it's a monster). I really wish I could remember what triggered it

Wow, i beat the game several times (and continued playing a couple of hours after the colorous cave plot) but never ran into those xD... and I've thought I had seen all of the aspects of the game so far... but thats great!

What is that dowsing rod and where you got it?! O.o


Hey Arirmind, I got the dowsing rod from the Treasure Hunters. It's an event located in the east blackbird forest, I don't know what triggers it, but you meet the two of them there, get into a conversation and they give you the dowsing rod. You find treasure maps whilst foraging, but only one per day. Then you use the map and you'll get told what region the treasure is in, once you reach that region you use the dowsing rod and it tells you how many steps in the cardinal directions you'll find it.

I'm such an idiot cause I don't have a save before I talked to those guys who wanted to blow up the road and entering the Mount. I hope that I won't encounter any problems in the future... :( I need to beat the ghost in the urn. I'm level 18, but it's way too hard. Frazzle doesn't work, poison is ok, but when he uses that spell that attacks all the party I'm done for. After two attacks, DEAD. If I could paralyze him somehow it would be great.

That fight is pretty much a dps check. You need to kill him really fast after he increases dmg second time.

Before that you can use healing wave with Reniat and Ankaba. That should keep you alive.

Some tips so you can dps him down fast enough:

- Eat all lunch-type effects for every party member before fight. That should keep you safe for early rounds so you can spend some time with buffing (enrage - divine spell) and debuffing (gut buster - sword attack) with your support characters.
- You can also use that consumenable that refills TP meter (adrenalin?) from dojo.
- Dont value magic defence at all for this fight. Physical defence is all that matters.

I dont know if this is the way to go but this way i beat him. Only 2 heroes alive when Xebec nailed final blow.

Ok first time I've done a screenshot so I hope this works :).

I couldn't find an old save with both treasure maps but I can tell you that the other one was in the map where Zebec got crushed, in that little off-shoot corridor with the room at the end with a chest. The treasure was under that chest so you couldn't stand on it.

This is the one across the river, behind the trees.

I use a region to determine where treasure can spawn. Can you take screenshots of the locations in question and post them so it's easier for me to know what to remove?

Oh one thing I did want to mention, I've got a couple of treasure maps hanging around in my inventory that I can't complete because the spot where the treasure is is inaccessible. In that I've got one on the West Runelea Plain across the river behind a set of trees I can't bypass. I don't know how the co-ordinates for the treasure is calculated but since it never shows up in a river or where there is an actual tree I'm assuming it's selective, you may want to also exclude those points a player can't get to (in your copious amounts of spare time, that is :))

Yeah that cut-scene is finished in the version I'm working on, but it wasn't in what got uploaded last.

I can only suggest you keep a savefile before you go there, or you might risk ruining some things.

I got into the Mountain too, just to read the signs saying 'don't put your hand in the Lava" seriously how dumb are some of these adventurers? (don't answer that, I know, Lowell!). I could get the Bomb as well but not blow anything up, like the rockfall next to the hot spring you aren't allowed to use. There wasn't any glitches or errors that I encountered inside the mountain, but it's obvious that it's not finished. I just thought I might be able to get a volcanic rock for my Dad, since he asked for one.

There is an error in the fact that when you talk to the adventurers you get the start of the cut-scene but since you don't actually blow up the boulders you're stuck, you can't get out of the scene. Not a big issue since I usually save before I talk to anyone new, when I played it I could just go back.

I managed to enter there somehow. I got the bomb, but couldn't use it. I also met those two guys/bandits that tried to blow up the road, but after they tell Reniat to do it herself nothing happens. I thought that the version was updated, cause I was really surprised when the guard moved and I could to enter the cave. At least I was able to see how it looks like. And the music there is gorgeous. :D

I didn't beat the ghost in urn yet cause I wanted to level up a bit more ( I'm level 17 now ) and I want to face it at level 20. Too bad that I can't find so many monsters in the cave because I defeated Captain Colorous. I saw that I can enter the Mount now. I played this game many months ago ( when the updates weren't available and there were some bugs and glitches, but because of a dumb mistake I managed to delete it :(), so I'm very happy right now because I can enter the Mount and there is anew boss :D One thing that I saw ( I don't know if it's a glitch or not is the fact that after I go east, I find myself in an unexplored part of Runalea Plains, where some guys ( bandits? maybe) try to remove some boulders using dynamite. Reniat has the honour of making the wonderful explosion, but I don't know what to do. Help, please? :D


Whoaa you're not supposed to be able to go there yet! I can't guarantee functionality of anything that occurs there yet lol. I thought entering the mountain was disabled in the live version but I might've messed up somewhere.
