Reniat returns to her home village after years away at boarding school to find that the village is nearly deserted. The mine that the village depended on heavily for boosting its economy and tourism has been overrun by monsters and no one has bothered doing anything about it. Having trained as an adventurer, she decides to see what she can do about reviving the town and making a name for herself in the world.

Homework Salesman is a life simulation game with an emphasis on dungeon exploration, completing quests, crafting new equipment and items, and befriending the people in town. The game takes inspiration from the Rune Factory and Atelier series.

Features
  • Befriend each villager by talking to them every day and giving them gifts. Higher friendship levels allow you to learn each NPC's personal story and can also gain you access to new shop items, skills, hidden goodies, and more.

  • Unique items means that each item in the game is treated as a separate object. You can rename equipment, find rare versions of them, upgrade and repair them (weapons have durability), and even enchant them. You can have several iron swords each with different enchantments on them.

  • Six unique crafts: Cooking, Smithing, Tailoring, Enchanting, Alchemy, and Construction.

  • Quests are divided into two categories: story quests that propel your adventure forward, and side quests that are procedurally generated.

  • Features a world encounter system where you can find random events in field maps or dungeons, such as traveling merchants or a bandit who'll offer to spare you for money (or you can kill him)

  • Enemy encounters and (most) treasure chests are randomly placed on maps. You typically won't find the same monster encounter in the same dungeon spot every time. Treasure chest contents are randomly drawn from a pool of items appropriate for the zone you're in. You can also find unique weapons with randomized names, stats, and enchantments.

I don't have that many upgrades, because I used to elunium for gifts. :D I got that many exp from Colorous Cave. There is a day ( humid? I think...) where the monsters you encounter double. I need to craft some enchantments now. :)
mm thats a lot of grinding :)

Where you get that much exp? Runalea plains? My party was level 13 when i beated ghost in the urn. 3-slots on all gear pieces. Total 35 elunium used for upgrades, +10 on both mainhands of Eagen and xebec. Rest on Off-hands for those 2.

I think you should be fine with your level. Just eat a good banquet of meals and face him!
I didn't beat the ghost in urn yet cause I wanted to level up a bit more ( I'm level 17 now ) and I want to face it at level 20. Too bad that I can't find so many monsters in the cave because I defeated Captain Colorous. I saw that I can enter the Mount now. I played this game many months ago ( when the updates weren't available and there were some bugs and glitches, but because of a dumb mistake I managed to delete it :(), so I'm very happy right now because I can enter the Mount and there is anew boss :D One thing that I saw ( I don't know if it's a glitch or not is the fact that after I go east, I find myself in an unexplored part of Runalea Plains, where some guys ( bandits? maybe) try to remove some boulders using dynamite. Reniat has the honour of making the wonderful explosion, but I don't know what to do. Help, please? :D
Good stuff! Nice to know there are other strategies besides the one I used (which I won't reveal lol).
Diedrupo!

I did beat Phrontistes! It was well done and designed boss I salute you :)

Poison didnt last and I couldnt frazzle it at all.
At first it didnt seem so bad.. but once you realized how fast it enrages whether you did damage on it or not it became a real toughie.

My setup was Reniat and Ankaba on full support with divine heals/buffs, occasionally switching to sword to throw in Gut Buster attack if there was time. Xebec and Eagen full offence on every round. No party can handle him for many rounds after he fully enrages, not at least mine. That enrage mechanic made the fight really intense as every round matters even if things seems to be going well.

This time there was some reward too: 3 x Lovely recipe books and some zenis, 30k if i remember right.
I played this through again. Lots of new stuff like anti-frazzle fields which is really good change. There is also some new ultimate boss available but havent tried it yet since i couldnt find Ankaba..? Where is she?

One thing that caught me 100% off-guard:

repair enchantments wont sell good anymore! TT

You can imagine my shock after i leveled enchantments 30-35 from purely massing purple orbs and stashing them. When i reached lvl 35 i made full storage of 150 lvl 1 repairs and went to see how much they go.. That was like 200k gold and many days wasted just like that.

Love this game. I'm having so much fun. This is the best rpg game I have ever played. The characters, graphics, music, everything is so wonderful. :D I just wish that we could somehow beat the that red monster ( I forgot it's name ) that has way too much HP and receive some rewards. One bug that I discovered is the fruit parfait and the jelly buns that should increase the AP with 10 or 20. It just doesn't work at all when eating. I can't wait for the second chapter!

Red monster is beatable :) I quote my post from page 18:

Buyaah! I did beat 3 star beholder at Lunarea Plains. I was so dissapointed that NOTHING interesting happened after the fight :( .. No interesting dialogue/reward/drop. Or did something happen somewhere?

This was my gear setup:

Reniat:
Mage Staff (enchanted with 3 x Dodge lvl 2)
Steel Shield (enchanted with 3 x Dodge lvl 2)
Steelplate (enchanted with 3 x Dodge lvl 2)
Iron Helmet (enchanted with 3 x Dodge lvl 2)
Iron gauntlets (enchanted with 3 x Dodge lvl 2)

Xebec:
+10 Steel Sword (enchanted with 3 x Dodge lvl 2)
+10 Greatbow (enchanted with 3 x Dodge lvl 2)
Iron Helmet (enchanted with 3 x Dodge lvl 2)
Steelplate (enchanted with 3 x Dodge lvl 2)
Iron Gauntlets (enchanted with 3 x Dodge lvl 2)

Eagen:
+10 Steel Sword (enchanted with 3 x Dodge lvl 2)
+10 Greatbow (enchanted with 3 x Dodge lvl 2)
Steel Helmet (enchanted with 3 x Dodge lvl 2)
Chain Mail (enchanted with 3 x Dodge lvl 2)
Iron Gauntlets (enchanted with 3 x Dodge lvl 2)

Ankaba:
Mage Staff (enchanted with 3 x Dodge lvl 2)
Steel Shield (enchanted with 3 x Dodge lvl 2)
Yellow Ribbon (enchanted with 3 x Dodge lvl 2)
Mage¨s Robe (enchanted with 3 x Dodge lvl 2)
Fur Gloves (enchanted with 3 x Dodge lvl 2)

vs Beholder i would take iron gloves/helmet and chain mail over Ankaba¨s gear without even considering but sadly she is not proficient. You want physical defence not magic and magic defence (Ankaba got one shotted so bad that should have used totem instead of steel shield)

I had one Elunium unused since i wanted to see first on who it would make difference in terms of defence. No-one had 4th slot on any piece of gear and I could have tried to get Steel Helm also on Xebec and Reniat and if I remember right from previous game there is also better medium armor than Chain Mail available through Maid so this is far from optimal (upgrades only on weapons). I had saved/searched masses of Blumanto Petals and crafted Life Essence potions as many as I could. Also the fact that every single character had stacked 60% evasion played minor role. Shocking effects are as powerful as they usually are against single bosses.

EDIT: oh and party level 15

Wow sry Deidrupo dont meant to start a wave of "When does it get ready?"- posts xD! Its more important to work on this one, than answering the same questions again and again...in my opinion. But thx for the "hope-feeding" news! I really love the pillow-huggin', creepy, sweet and challengeing little world of yours!
Would love to give a date for the next chapter but I can't promise anything. I can only say it will come out sometime this year.
And yes of course you can use you old saves. The story will pick up where it left off.

Ok, I've played this game all the way through 3 times now, once to see how quickly I could get it done, one to see how much I had to gift people before their reactions changed, and one to see just how many 'different' quests I could get (that one got up to 110 days). I need the next chapter! Not just want, though I do, I NEED it.

Where is it? Where????

Hello! This is the only game that i have played 36 hours straight without sleep. Absolutely amazing work. Got couple questions if you dont mind answering them:

1) When next episode will be released? :P
2) Can i continue to episode 2 with my old save file when it happens?
Hiho to all of you lovely "Star Cadets" out there!
This game is freakin awesome! I downloaded it quite a time ago (about 6 month or so...) so i dunno exactly if theres another chapter availabe at the moment,(as i wasnt following the posts everyday since my pc died!) because the only thing thats annoying me on this one, is that it ends after the first dungeon ;P. So here goes my question to you Diedrupo: Is there a new chapter available right now (or in the near future)or can i still just download the first episode?...(dont mean to push you around just wanted to know if theres any new contend or progress...?)

PS: I couldnt resist trying out "Rune Factory" after i played HS and in my opinion: HS IS EVEN BETTER!

Hi developer,
1) What does the attribute Luck do? I figured out Agility determines the order of attack (i.e. who gets to whack first) but I can't figure out what Luck does.

It affects certain skills.

2) I'm not sure whether this is a bug but I didn't try to reproduce it.
During the 4th try, Reniat went to 2nd floor to look for Plutonus but didn't kill it (coz the team ran out of health and weapons). She had rolled that stone and filled the gap. Upon going back (could be same day after a dip in the spring or the next day ... can't remember), her team killed Plutonus. But the stone was still in its original place and blocked her path back to the ladder. However, when Reniat went to the cave the next day, the stone is gone.

That's odd. I'll try to replicate it sometime.

Hi developer,

I hope that you are still reading this forum :)

First, thank you for the game. I stumbled across this game a couple of weeks ago and I'm already starting the game for the 4th time .... I enjoy it tremendously because
a) I enjoy crafting things. It is nice to be able to make my own pots rather than the typical buy from vendor in most rpgmaker games.
b) Gameplay is varied and less like the more or less linear approach in many rpgmaker games.

I have a few questions:
1) What does the attribute Luck do? I figured out Agility determines the order of attack (i.e. who gets to whack first) but I can't figure out what Luck does.

2) I'm not sure whether this is a bug but I didn't try to reproduce it.

BTW, I'm very happy to have caught the Legendary Migratory Fish that I took a screenshot of it :) :) :)
Sorry you feel that way. This game really isn't meant to be played conservatively. I like stocking everyone up on weapons before going into dungeons and having a camp kit or two is helpful as well.

One of the better ways to make money besides selling loot is crafting items and selling them. Not only do you level your crafts but you also make a profit in doing so.
The game was fun until I reached 3rd floor of the first cave.

Normal enemies just have too much HP/Def and I'm one of those player type who likes to play conservative yet hate grinding. Wasting MP and Weapon durability on normal mobs is frustrating cause I have to go back to craft/refill/repair over and over again...

I want to use my money on upgrades not on those overprice hammer or tent either.

Unless there is a way to craft those 2 myself I think the price should drop down...
Those or there should be a better way to gain more money. Selling loots sure didn't do much and sometime those hard mobs don't even drop anything.

The game crashes when reading the dialog to the boss that kidnaps your brother :(
screenshot?

Can you also upload your save file somewhere so I can take a look? This didn't happen to me so I need to see what's going on.

Nvrm I found out what was wrong. Thank you though!
