After a mutiny against the captain of a cruise liner, two siblings find themselves washed up on a beach. One, blind from a past heinous crime against her person she won't speak of, is anxious to find the "Isle of Sedista" and get a treasure from the cave at the center of the island to restore her sight. Her brother will see that she succeeds at whatever the cost to himself, in spite of the damage he has suffered at her hands.

However, the island of Sedista - and its' inhabitants - have other, far darker plans for them...

"Their bond will be stretched.
Their unity will be tested.
Their patience will be bent.
Their love will be challenged.

When it is, they will separate.
And ultimately, they will die.

So decree the Masters of Sedista.
May the wheels of Fate continue our reign forever."

- Lyncoptis and Xeschro.

For v. 1.7 and beyond, I have reorganized the dialogue. You should not need to talk to everyone until they repeat to know where to go next.
This game should take you between 40 minutes to one-and-a-half hours without monster battles.

Yep. New version. I fixed the misaligned switch that rendered the game unplayable past the initial town, so you should be able to get farther.

Um dude, your download is gone :0

I had just uploaded a new version last night. It wasn't available until this morning.
Oh crud... I just realized I wiped out my VX Ace contest entry...

Well, the 1.7 download is up. I hope people have fun with it! ^^;
I been playing back through it and so far so good. Sorry to hear about the contest entry :(.

I guess I just have to roll up my sleeves and get working... on getting a job. Boy, it's tough to find work these days.
Im going through the same thing, i have about 40 apps filled out in two years and have had like 3 seasonal type jobs. :(
Let's see... I've put out about 25-30 in the past month and no dice so far. Luckily, I've got some part-time work at my old security job I'm picking up. Hopefully you get something more substantial... that's a lot of seasonal work.

This could have been SO GOOD. The setting was interesting, but the overall work is awful. Though I'm sure you know this considering your blog.

To be honest, I would change this game's status to Cancelled instead of Complete. Because this is not complete. I tried to get into the Ice Palace up north, but couldn't. Since that's where the game told me to go, I have to stop it here.

Anyway, I hope the lesson was learned: Always have UNENCRYPTED backups of your projects just in case something was wrong.

Lockez linked to one a while back, it's designed for exactly this kind of issue. You can find his post here.

random thoughts

=starting on world map thats rare

-dislike the store overcomplicated with menus

-most if not all gear in the game is default names!

-lol....area after long walk was taken from some other game i cant remember the name of...

that ending....dam do i feel trolled

i am so glad there was a option for no random battles had they been part of the experience i would of really hated this game
alot of walking not enough dialog end a ending which leaves you unsatisfied.
i couldn't even really pick something id say i liked about this.
even w/o the random battles which were supposed to be a part of the game.
it was a really meh experience.
would not even recommend to someone new to rpgs

What was learned from the experience, actually, was to back up the file... and then remember where it was backed up. I had begun development on this game on my old tower, and when I transferred computers, I forgot to take the unencrypted game with me.

Or so I thought.

A couple of weeks ago, I was browsing through one of my old Flash drives and POOF - an unencrypted version! Ironically, the time away from the contest, coupled with the time away from the game, put enough distance between me and this project that I see things I know I could have done a whole lot better with a little less pressure.

I might just redevelop this from the ground up after I've finished my sophomore game and while I work on a buddy's.
