Website Final Tear 3

http://final-tear.nl/

Here you can find information about the third and newest installment of the immense Final Tear series created by Stevie v.d. Laar. Final Tear 3 remastered is one of the largest and one of the most custom scripted games in the rpgmaker 2003 library.

The game offers a 100 to 150 hours gaming experience filled with magic and mystery; a deep and dark story with a lot of unexpected plot twists. The game is full of mini games, special events and a lot of custom systems with a unique flavor. After 7 years of hard work and 1 year for the remaster, the game is finished and ready for you to enjoy

Features

Final Tear 3 is different to many other self-made games. The reason why it took me so long to make this third part of my trilogy is because I wanted it to be special. In fact, I wanted to offer you something similar to the games that you can buy in stores. I hope I have succeeded in doing this and that you will find the game rewarding, interesting and fun to play.

The remastered Sanaria forest.

There are a number of custom systems within the game that give it a special feel: Orb magic system, the S.A.S.S (Summon Aura Sensation System), a roulette system, a custom exp system, a gun bullet system, a book learning system and an online banking and interest system.

There are more custom systems in the game, and these can be found in the custom systems section and in the game itself!

The new complex orb magic system.

Custom battle system

Along with dozens of other custom systems, the battle system algorithms are custom made by me. I have only used small pieces of the basic foundations of rpgmaker’s battle system, which has enabled me to create my own damage numbers. Heck! By doing this I have the best of both worlds!

Summons can be leveled and can fuse with the hero! Lance has the aura of the fire summon on him.

You will see a lot of new stuff in the improved battle system. The limits of rpgmaker have been broken, which means that doing max 9999 damage is a thing of the past. Within very wide limits, you can now do almost anything you wish, such as stacking and combining your skills!

The new battle system is very deep and you might find it rather complex in the beginning. When you have mastered it, however, you can unleash hundred different strategies to suit your particular style of play. It’s not easy though, and it can take a long time to get to grips with every detail of it!

A very powerful boss!

Train to infinity & character adjustment

Ever dreamt of an RPG game with no limits to how strong you can get? If so, then the systems and possibilities in Final Tear 3 will give you a warm feeling. You want to brag online about your uber stats? This is the game where you can REALLY show how diehard you are, since there is almost no limit to how strong you can become! Show them your hardcore uber stats!

Searching for the answer!

You can train your characters in different ways so that you can shape them to your own taste. They each have their own style, and they each fight differently in battle. Some characters can even influence other characters. This gives the game a high replay value because you may want to try the other character combinations and strategies too.

Don't forget the treasure Lance!

Side quests

There is much more I could tell you about this game, but I don’t want to give too much away in case I spoil it for you.

The game has a lot of side quests which you can undertake even if you have completed it. There are secret dungeons with super tough enemies, a lot of secret bosses and mini games and special places you can visit to train or to solve puzzles or mazes. If you’re a jack of all trades, you might want to master the roulette game to acquire very special items and spells.

Petunia plains

Take on the adventure called Final Tear 3 and have a lot of fun playing my game!

No I don't see it that way (anymore). But in the past there was a lot of unnecessary rudeness that didn’t add anything constructive. I don’t want to get down to that road again. All critics are welcome if they are constructive.
I've never been a fan of the RTP style'd 2k3 actors in battle(They're always smiling!)..but this looks quite promising, subbed~ ^o^

Thank you, I'm not sure yet if this is going to be the main page for Final Tear 3 in the future but we'll see as times passes.
To all who think the plot is shallow - it took me two playthroughs to actually fully understand what was going on in the end.
After all, boss battles are what makes a game hard and interesting. Think about it - would you prefer smacking all bosses from the first try or lose several times until you find out what strategy to use.
I can't see a problem with vulgar language too - it does not come from every character, I remember it only coming from Alyssa (and some monsters maybe) and it is even explained why it is that way later on. So another point goes to character development. Like you guys who complain never diss and have never heard anything vulgar... I even think it makes the game more colorful and the characters more distinct.
The battle system that you hate now becomes invaluable later where you have so much more skills to choose from in order to form your battling strategy.
With all that being said, the major critics to this game can be that everything is incredibly good "a bit later on". Which can be almost (if not completely) impossible to change, because that would require complete reprogramming and revamping of the story. So if you did not like whatever in the beginning, all you have left is to trust me and all the people that finished the game that it is soo much worth it to play, instead of giving up after the first 5 or so hours just because everything seems strange in this game. After the movespeed change and the teleporter after the plains, I hope more people will give it a try, and once you get to a certain point (which by the way is not that far in the game) - you won't regret playing it. I hope I helped people who had doubts about this game.
Peace out.
People need to keep in mind though that the encounters will be doubled if you run. I would therefore suggest that people only run in towns and such.

Also there are some dungeons or parts of dungeons where running is not allowed.

This actually depends. I haven't played through any of the FT games yet, but I'd imagine this is the same with a lot of rpg games. I don't mind a complicated battle system that requires me to think. Heck, I don't mind losing a few times as I try to figure out the pattern, but this only works as long as I'm given the option to save prior to facing the boss, so I'm not forced to replay the last 2 or 3 hours I might lose as a result of a tough boss fight.

If save options aren't allowed prior to the boss, and the boss is supposed to be a tough cookie so that you can lose until you've discovered the method in killing said boss, and by dying you're forced to lose the past hour of your life, including any level ups and items you found, only to have to replay a large cut scene that you can't skip right before fighting the boss all over again, it would turn me off real quick.
@Amerkevicius

You can save before every boss in the game. There are some bosses which have dialogue before it. You can either skip that dialogue or save after it :)

The battle system is indeed complicated and it is not mindless spamming of magic or something like that, there are multiple skills and abilities that influence eachother and can work together.

In the beginning this all might be very confusing and hard to understand. But when you understand it you will see that this battle system is very strategic and addicting to use.

In past the orb magic was very overpowered and you could only use that to win the game. With recent changes you are forced to use most of the battle skills.
Well since nobody addresses issues I guess I can upload the new version this week. So if you still have some issues please tell them.

Edit:

I heard some people complain that the levels build up slowly. Well this is because the game is so huge. If I used a more standard approach the characters need to have 250 levels.
Sorry I removed the download because the dyn patch somehow screws up my damage formula's so I need to remove it and re upload the version.

Edit: I cannot seem to reproduce the bug...so I will re upload the version. If some encounters that orb magic does a lot less damage in some turns on the same monster please report it with which spell on which monster etc.
i think it's very awesome you're revising this game.

i found it to be a really really good game for what i played but i gave up because it simply took too damn long to do anything.

you say you're reducing monster hp and adding run feature? 5 star game in the making.

my complaints are:

1. encounters are supposed to not be annoying, really. they need to be turned off in puzzle rooms, and not be a "step, fight, step" routine
2. knives are kinda the best choice for physical characters due to losing a lot of speed for equipping anything else.
3. I had issues with the WP and SP rings sometimes randomly giving 0 in the other type. I don't think you should have a penalty on them. just make it a 25% boost to whatever one you have on. you're giving up a regen armlet to use it after all.
4. Let us turn the voice over off during roulette.
5. More magic boosting weapons for Lance.
6. faster after battle results display.

As far as I know this is the case now, if not please tell me where this is not the case and I will take care that this will be solved in 3.04

If that is the case there is a bug in the rings, becuase they should uncoditionaly give those boosts. I will look for this even though I cannot promise that this will be solved in 3.04

4. Let us turn the voice over off during roulette.

Good idea, I will take care that it will be turned off with the rest of the voices.

5. More magic boosting weapons for Lance.

Have to look for this one, seeing that summons are already buffed twice it might be op to give an indirect 3rd buff.

6. faster after battle results display.

I will try to make it faster, but if I make it too fast the menu will scramble. But i might make it a bit faster.
I downloaded the patch before you took it down, so here are some things I noticed:
1.the runing is perfectly done but it is a bit annoying tha I have to turn it on again after a save crystall.
2.the teleporter in petunia plain doesn't warp you back to the begining.
3.Where did the quizz tent go?

And since I played once already through the game(could't beat the final boss),
Cold you just remove or change that timing puzzle right before the final boss its kind of out of place and really just interrupts the ending. The space ship minigame is the same: makes no sense and is just a time waster.
Desert: when you encounter the plains you can't leave from every side of the map so you have to go around a pretty big map searching for it.
Pyramid: there is a puzzle which is just triall and error maybe you culd show the correct path for like 5 secounds.

thx! I will see which of these changes I can implement. I removed the tents because everyone looked up the awnsers on the boards making it a free item tent :P

Which puzzle do you mean in the pyramid?

The desert is intentional. So that you need to fight sometimes :P
The one where if you step on te wrong tile it sends you to the beginning of the puzzle.
Ok the new version is uploaded. The final changes are also updated in the blog. The file is pending now.
Here's a little note of me, I would like to ask that people only review my game if they completed or beat it. So far everyone who did beat or complete my game think the game is great. So if you don’t like my game and don’t want to play further for whatever reason, don’t post a review of it but instead tell me how I can make it more enjoyable for you.

The game starts slow because of the nature of the story, this is an intentional illusion to the player that the game creates.
I haven't seen this project in a while, anyways your downloads for Final Tear 2 on your website isn't working because Zhare.net is down and has been for a while, also why isn't there a download for Final Tear 1 on this site since it complete and all.

True they will be both uploaded soon. I'm trying to implement a running system in part 1 as well but lmitations won't let me. so I put FT1 on hold now, maybe I leave the walking speed in part 1 because the game as really high encounters.
