0.5.0 A Fairy's Journey~

Underwater expansion is halfway done! This update adds about 20-30 minute exploration for the underwater. Happy swimming!

ADDED

Fairies now moved to the underground! 6 new maps related to them
9 new underwater maps
A new mechanic for the underwater ;)!
4 new armors, 2 new weapons and 1 new item~
3 more Silver Token usage (it adds up 13/20, 7 more to go)
4 enemies, no bosses

MAP CHANGES

Seaport Town now have more openings and a guard tower
Outside of Aquana now have gaps and treasures...
Opacity of water effect is now reduced a bit.

MONSTER FIXES

??? now immune to Poison >:D

Here I am with another weekly content update! It's a very minor update, comes with a nice bugfix! From now on I'm going to add "TO DO LIST" on the bottom of my path notes, so everyone can see what I'm up to. Also university is kicking my butt hard right now, ouch! :~D

0.4.5 update is here with many changes and challenges~

Thanks to my university I can barely touch the surface of my game, but I still have some free time to change and add things! One of my goal was making a Hunting Board on the chapter III. Today it's finished and very different compared to chapter II's Hunting Board. HEHE >:D

Let's get into patch notes:

ADDED


4 new Hunting Missions, you can get them from Tidender. Level 30+ recommended!!! They are kinda tricky ;)
Finished Aquana town. Added 7 maps related to Aquana Town and 2 more Silver Token usage
5 new weapons and 12 new Armors
3 Gamejolt achievements
A new Riddle box to Tidender! Try to solve it!
Added Golden Clam monster just south of Aquana for making easy gold (it drops Pearls!)

CHANGES

Added a new switch when taking the Checkpoint Pass key item, this disables your Teleporting items until you leave that place this prevents breaking the game
Fixed many dialogues on 5+ 'spoiler' karma event, also changed some sprites for that event! EYE CANDY!
Players no longer lose their scrolls when going to Balandor
Chronix Armor shop now sells Light and Heavy hats
Tidender Armor shop got new Fur armors and Weapon shop sells a new Spiked Shield
Sealight Bloom now costs 10k, it was 30k
Leather Paw's MAT is now 90, it was 80
Skull Charm now got 20 MAT, it was 0
Music: The Will, Mephisto and Inn theme got changed
Riddle I, II, III, IV songs and their song items got deleted; they are replaced with Stimulant M, L, XL AND XXL
Most shops now sells Stimulant M, L, XL AND XXL
When you get a Pure hat you'll also get the info of other hats in Identify Book, this is for Identify Book completion purpose
All party members now learns Health Mastery when reaching level 10 or 20, Health Mastery boosts their MAX HP by different amount of %. Except Suan... it learns Magic Mastery and teaches Suan a unique healing skill!

Melt ailment now only stays for 5 turns, it was infinite
When you fail to use Aquana Teleport Scroll it gives you the right item back

0.4.4 update and announcement~

Hello there everyone! This will be a very small update for Shattered Hourglass and I'm not going to update my game very frequently after this one. My university is opening this monday and I'll be (very) busy with university stuff~ So, yeah...

Let's get into small patch notes:

ADDED

• Players now starts the game with 2 potion and 1 magic jelly.
• Karma Book now records all of your Side Quests (why this took so long)
• Some areas now have more grass and flowers
• The first and the second map just changed a little bit
• 2 little maps for the new SPOILER town
• 1 new armor

SKILL CHANGES

(Suan)
• Lullaby: now casts Sleep and Silence
• Entice: now also lowers DEF and MDF
• "Gold well spent" now deals 200 fixed damage
• Reverse Potion's enemy targeting is now fixed and now costs 20% TP also recovers 25% MP
• Health Fire now can cure Toxic and Poison, costs 3 MP
• Mana Fire now can cure Ignite and Frozen, costs 3 MP
• Encourage - now gives 5% HP and costs 2MP
• Potential - now gives 5% MP and costs 2MP
• Scan now lets you choose 2 different scan types (experimental change for not getting crash)

FIXED

• Juliet's Recovery Mastery now works on allies
• Onigiri now works again
• Some dialogues in the intro got changed due grammar issues
• Suan's "High Voice" description

CHANGES

• Fisherman karma event now fails at 2 Hunt Missions, it was 1 before
• Loot hunt now increases drop rate by 100%+150% and all parametres of monsters +25% more.
(I FORGOT TO CHANGE THE TITLE'S VERSION NUMBER, DON'T PANIC!)

0.4 is leaking! Literally! (Version 0.4.1 is up)

FIRST OF ALL, I'VE GOT RID OF ALL SILLY MODE EXLUSIVE MONSTERS!

Old players might remember seeing Digimons, Pokemon, Diablo, Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy characters etc. Guess what? They are no longer here with us. All of them are replaced (unused old tracks and battlers are deleted), reskinned and added to the core game. Some silly dialogues got altered, turned them into semi-serious stuff. Exlusives were bad design choice, so I turned them into reasonable things. You can now collect the Silly Mode exlusive equipments in the core game. Let me write the changes here;

Digimons are replaced with Conjured animals
Pokemon trainer is now searching for his Onigiri
Onigiri (It was a pokeball) calls some other monster
You can still get Spirit Urn; the story is no longer related to Tristram (Diablo)
Snowman got reskinned, no more a MapleStory boss
Nemesis is just a regular zombie now
Gilgamesh is now called Zombiemesh (reskin), same skillset but no more Gilgamesh related dialogues
Sephiroth is no longer, instead you can get a hunt mission from Chronix to defeat Sephiroth like boss.

Have you ever wondered what if you can travel in time to stop the Slayer very early? You can try it!

New stuff on the old maps!? What's that?

A classic JRPG curiosity... What's up with those wells? Why I can't go down? You can have your answers soon! Prepare to explore the underground by going into the wells! Some paths are long, some are short... Explore everywhere once again!

Underground? Why would I want to do that? Well, a new path on Lumberjack Camp has opened. In order to explore the new and amazing adventure you'll need to collect 20 Silver Tokens from all around the Shattered Hourglass! Some are well hidden in wells!

That sounds amazing, but what's this new adventure will take me?

WE ARE GOING TO THE UNDERWATER CITY! IT'LL BE A LONG JOURNEY AS LONG AS YOU GOT THE SILVER TOKENS~

Icywland's item bag seller now sells items by low to high.
Edited most Karma Book entries a bit.

MONSTER CHANGES

All Silly Mode monster added to the core game with their reskinned counterparts.
Changed Beginner Adventurer and Experienced Adventurer (Silly mode exclusive) into Gloomy and Lil' Drake (Regular monsters), their stats are same but they became global enemies.
First encounter of Zulwhern's DEF lowered a bit, his stun now procs by 5 > 3%, his evasion lowered to 12 > 10% and his HP down by 100. (Watching newbies struggle with the real first boss in not fun)

Happy Little Trees (0.3 version is secretly up)

Hello there once again! This is actually not a patch note or a new version blog, which is quite a rare sight for this game!

Whenever I play my game I always hate how empty looking my world maps are. Well... guess what! I've started to overhaul my world maps slowly... I'd few ideas on my mind, like smoothing the sides of ocean... I couldn't do it... Maybe I might, I've no idea I DID IT!!! I've also started adding little happy trees on most mountains! Icdalen is a tree rich place, so why not just add more trees!



I've also overhauled Deserted Tower (first dungeon), added some neat stuff to its walls. Fixed some tiles! Also added a dungeon boss frame!



Well, I just wanted to share my progress! I'll see you in the next patch or something :D!

Shattered Hourglass: Postgame 0.2 is here!

Phew... This new update came way too early and just added 10 more MB to existing content! Post game content will shake the game completely soon! Before I get into details there are 2 different versions to download, check your requirements first. Also I'm open to any feedback, so don't hesitate!

ADDED

A new side quest for low levels, it begins in Icywland
2 new music and 3 parallax maps
6 maps; 3 dungeon, 2 regular explore and 1 new world map
You can visit the fisherman after the good ending only If you've saved him and lend help to him (Bad/Neutral ending can't do it currently)
Some NPC dialogues might alter when a certain character dies (NO SPOILERS!)

NEW SIDE QUEST

Esther's side quest got added to the game with a new Gamejolt achievement. Pre req: Save the frozen girl, don't cross the broken northern bridge. Recommended level 8+ and quest length is about 15 to 30 minutes, stock your potions!

QUALITY OF LIFE

Screen Resolution buttons: F5 - Toogle Fullscreen, F6 - Changing Screen Resolution
(This game is compressed quite a lot, some graphics might not look good on fullscreen)

Button Tutorial now shows those new buttons
Added 80+ place holder enemies for Identify Book, so when the new patch comes and the new monsters got added you don't need to download 2 seperate versions (yeah, I think too hard on this issue, so I came up with this one...)

MAP CHANGES

Added a fountain to Icywland
Neutral Karma route; A gravestone for someone you lost (happens after the ending, you can't see until postgame area is complete, not possible at the moment)

DIALOGUE FIXES

Suan's dialogue comes very early without having Suan in your party
Mounted guard's dialogue typo.

Shattered Hourglass: Postgame 0.1, huge changes are up!

It took me a while but I've done it! Old areas got reworked, bugs squashed, some useless skills become useful and much more! But most importantly postgame is now official. You can also enjoy the patch even if you have an old save file! Let's get into new patch notes:

ADDED

• SUPER SMALL amount of postgame content, you can check postgame area if you have a finished game with Bad/Neutral ending. Ending Tokens also works for getting there but I don't recommend saving in there since I have no idea when I can publish more postgame content...
• Qual Village's other half and some placeholder for upcoming patches.
• A new bar keeper in Qual Village sells Sealight Blooms for 30k and new 300 MP recover item for 1,700.

FIXES

• A bug that only allowing enemies to have maximum 99k HP, many bosses had more than 99k on my database... this will buff so many bosses.
• 10/10 bug where you can't buy house upgrades in Icywland if you had 4+ house upgrades.
• Some dialogue issues when a certain character is not in your party.
• An issue with learning Lazer Beam and Robot Dance skills when ??? is in your party.
• Most clipping issues, I hope there won't be anymore.
• You can use items like Spirit Urn once again, it was somehow disabled.
• Masamune no longer gives you the ability of wielding a dagger.

QUALITY OF LIFE

• Introducing with Jannet is improved, also her guard.
• Weapon and Armor descriptions are more clear.
• Arena guardians got candles for no reason...
• Haunted Mansion now have proper LEVERS!
• Haunted Forest now got more gravestones and less volcano, volcano makes no sense in there anyway.
• When player reaches level 10 they recieve a notification about Job & Passive in the world map.
• 'Jobs' changed into 'Job & Passive' on the menu.
• Added Inventory Sorting: When browsing your weapons, armors, etc. pressing A on Keyboard or Button 4 on Gamepad brings that menu.
• Ice Dungeon and the unnamed previous dungeon's exp charts got buffed by x2.
• Boat Remote Plus can teleport your boat to Hunter's Hut now.
• You can call your Ship to Tidender when you reach the top part of the map.
• Gamejolt Username and Pass's max character limit is now 24. It was 30 before and it was impossible to see the first 6 characters before.
• Equipment upgrade NPC in Chronix now also accepts Mark as her 3rd request.

MAP CHANGES

• Sand Tower got a new puzzle room with a nice loot on it, also floor 1 and 2 got some makeover.
• Crazy artist's house interior and exterior got changed especially exterior part.
• Made a shortcut to Lost Equipments side quest.
• Before going to the Ice dungeon you need to visit someone from Tidender.

ITEM CHANGES

• Tomato now heals 1500 > 3500, Cabbage 100 > 1000
• Onions now recovers 50 > 75 MP.
• Bomb and Arrow now reads "(Skill Material)"
• Ginseng Juice 50 > 40 TP.
• Arena Tonics are now cost 100 > 50 currency, also added a new Tonic that has the effect of all Tonics (Super hard to get!)
• Excalibur sword now lowers ATK to 1, its -95% hit rate debuff got deleted.


HOUSING

• New decorations in Gachapon Boxes.
• Crops, Milk and Gold Coin is now keeps growing in real time even if you are in menu or in battle, YAY!
• When you upgrade your Home further, you'll notice there will be more NPCs coming into your Home, some may have a present for you.
• You can have some futuristic cars as decoration!

MONSTER CHANGES

• Fire Lord's Servants and himself got their HP nerfed just a bit but Fire Lord also got some new toys!
• Ilbas' skills are changed a bit, it's still an easy pray.

PARTY SKILLS

• All Passives got buffed!!! (>:D BAD THINGS ARE ON THE WAY)
SUAN
⤷Mechanic skills got new buffs and debuffs
⤷Mecha Call now heals 5%
⤷Scan skill's now 2 MP
⤷Undying skill can be used on Menu now.
⤷Oi heal now heals for 500 > 1k and 5 > 3 MP.
TREEPHOP
⤷Tackle got buffed about 25%.
⤷Shadow Kick is now costs 50 > 30 TP.
⤷Rage skills now deals 2 times and takes double % HP.
JULIET
⤷Aura blade buffed about 33% but now costs 20 tp per cast, her
⤷Radiant Blade also got buffed 20% and lowered its tp to 50.
⤷Now learns Small Recovery on level 14 and her Recovery skills buffs MDEF to all allies. Her Recovery Mastery also applies to all allies.
ARCHER
⤷Learns a Hit rate buff skill on level 1.
⤷Learns new skills at level 1 (when joins), 22 and 28.
⤷Cloak skills now gives him % HP.
GLADIATOR
⤷Now learns Dagger Mastery on reaching level 10.
⤷Weaponslam got buffed %80.
⤷Holy Avatar now grants 2 stacks of ATK and Maximum HP.
⤷Flaming Sword now also scales with ATK.
⤷Balance now costs 25 > 5 TP.
⤷Poison cut skills got buffed by %15.
JANNET
⤷Gold Toss skills now deals less damage when enemy's DEF higher, if a boss got 100 DEF 5k gold will deal 4,9k. It was fixed damage before.
⤷Assassin's Oath is buffed a bit and costs 30 > 20 TP.
⤷Valiant Edge is buffed a lot, since it costs 50 and require a lot of setup, also guarantees Silence on enemies.
⤷Now learns Healing Bomb + on level 34, on addition to that Healing Bombs now grants Regen.
⤷Flaming Bomb saps enemy's HP by 0.50% each turn.
⤷Water Bomb makes enemy vulnarable to Thunder element.
⤷Thunder Bomb debuffs enemy DEF and Dark Bomb debuffs MDF.
HYBRID MONK
⤷Blizzard skills now scales much better with MAT.
⤷Hybrid Monk learns Ice III on level 27.
MIO
⤷Now learns Scary Face on joining, debuffs enemy ATK and MAT.

Wow, time really flies... It's been 5 years since I've created my first version of Shattered Hourglass which was pretty atrocious game on its core.

I've decided to take my game on a next level~ Gotta add a new chapter, some QoL changes, new end game content and hopefully getting a music composer for it.
