Story
Shattered Hourglass' main story is about time travel, -which is my favorite subject- that's why it's shattered. The main protagonist is a time mage named Duran, who meets an evil mage-slayer and lives adventures through that. That evil mage-slayer -which should not be named- seeks for powerful time mages and absorb their power. He wants to change the past in EVIL ways. We're playing as Duran, with companions since it's a RPG. Duran's (your) decisions are so important, every decision you made has consequences. And they affects the ending of the story. Since the story is multi-layered, you can't get all of your answers in just one run. That means the replay value is pretty high, you can play the game over and over again.

Gameplay
The game is a classic turn based JRPG with fluid battle system. Generally, JRPGs have too much dialogue which I really hate, but Shattered Hourglass' dialogue rate is very normal compared to the most JPRGs like Persona series. It has lots of puzzles which makes the game more fun and non-linear. It has a housing system which can be upgraded. The map includes lots of optional areas, collectibles, and it has tons of content to make players busy. If you get bored of the story, there's also an Arena option.

Music and Sounds
Overall music choices are well fitting for the theme. There are plenty of different musics through the game, which changes the mood of the area pretty nicely. Sound effects are also well done.

Graphics
The graphics of Shattered Hourglass are better than the average RPGmaker games. Mapping is so over-qualified, nicely edited, but some areas are a little complicated which makes me mad like the evil mage-slayer. Most of the scenes are beautifully crafted. Character portraits and sprites are so cute. Awesome job, developer. But Duran looks like Steven Wilson. I think the developer stole the character portrait from Steven. Just kidding. Hehe.

Battles
Battles are fast-paced compared to other turn based games. In most of those turn based JPRGs, you can fall asleep during the battles. But sometimes auto-attack isn't enough to win the battle. You have to use some tactics to beat most bosses. And the bosses are HARD AS HELL, so I wish you a good luck on beating them. The battle menu is so simple and useful.

Game-length
The main story is around 20 hours, but it can takes 30+ hours with optional parts. Not to mention if you want to replay this game and want to see other endings, then it can take up over 50 hours.

Score
Overall, this game deserves a 10/10. If you are looking for a fun game which includes Time Travel, exploration and adventure; this game is for you. Or you can go with the Doctor and travel through time and space.

I just woke up and there is a 5/5 review for my game? What's happening?! Is this the end of the world?! It's been 4 years since this game reviewed, I feel like nobody gonna review it lol. You almost gave me a heart attack!

Thanks for your kind review! Steven Wilson, you just got me there. He's one of my favourite artists and I absolutely (kinda) stole his look... Nice catch!

I'm sorry that some of my mappings gave you a hard time. I need to remake some of them, but that's not my priority right now. Sorry!

I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. There is still a lot of room to improve my game, I hope you'll enjoy the upcoming content as much as the current one.
