~~~Final Dragon Legacy~~~
2009-20xx
Author's Notes:
Thanks for downloading my game!
It's a tribute to old NES RPG games like Dragon Warrior and
Final Fantasy, while adding in elements of Norse mythology.
Thanks to shizuma for his helpful feedback!
Big thanks to The Mad Cacti for his help with the battle mode script!
Another shout-out to Velduanga, Moogle1(Mogri?), and Rimudora for the music they've created!
Thanks to James Paige for his help with various scripting problems!
Anyone else, let me know if I forgot you!
Known Issues & Changes:
~Toned down random encounters a bit.
~More dialogue, rewritten dialogue.
~YggSeeds are now usable outside of battle.
It's finally here! Check it out. The turnout this year is pretty good, albeit most the games are still in their demo stage. Good luck to everyone who entered!
This game is very nice and I'm pretty fond of it. However, the random battles drag on for way too long. Duly noted. I'm still in the process of balancing everything. I've heard people complain that the game is a bit slow at first, so I'll probably jack the speed up a bit. I've also been in the process of making some enemies easier to kill (Mushman, for example, used to have 32 HP, and now has 24. Only two hits to kill, instead of three). The random battles really make everything drag on. That's why after watching NicoB's LP's, I've seen how much better everyone else's games were, so I've been frantically rebalancing EVERYTHING. Anyway, glad you liked it, and stay tuned!
First, I didn't actually play this. I watched the "Let's Try" video by NicoB, which I'm glad for since I don't have the time I once did with playing games.
Second, I agree with the sentiment, that the encounter rate is a bit too high. I'm also inclined to think that the first boss (being a prologue) take a bit too long to fight. However, you seem to be aware of this and in the process of fixing the balance.
Third, I really like the old school look of this. I tend to shy away from non-RM rpg's as they don't generally engage me, but this one looks very nice and follows a style very close to early NES games.
