Super RMN Bros. is a collaborative community project where members of the rpgmaker.net website use the Super Mario Bros. X engine to create Mario levels. These stages are refined and compiled into one big game at the end of the event. This is the third installment in the series, and the first to be managed by halibabica. The game mimics the physics of the Mario games of yore; specifically Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World.

The game requires SMBX to run. This website does not provide illicit programs; we only condone their use. Google is your friend. When you've obtained the engine itself, unzip this game's download into SMBX's 'Worlds' folder. Run SMBX, click 'Start Game', and you're ready to play!

The Plot: Mario, Luigi, Toad, Peach, and Link have stumbled into RMN's Pit of Challenges, where they must gather stars from the worlds created by our users if they ever hope to escape. With 110 levels to explore and 150 stars to find, they have their work cut out for them!

Ready for Download!

After nearly three and a half months, this thing's ready and available to play!

The main download is the normal version of the game. It has star requirements for higher worlds, mini-boss, and boss levels. The extra 'unlocked' download removes all star requirements except those for the final level and leaving the pit.

Have fun!

I encountered this problem too, but whit a diffrent probably
For some reason ring #2 seemed to disappear, but not count the ring. I flew over it a couple of times to make sure I get all of them. Also, I think I got it by collecting the highest one. I could be mistaken though.

ALSO you can fly back to the start if you mess up on the island part andglide to the middle idland from the red blocks if you muck up. Just be carefull.
Oh boy...

I can review this game, but I'm not sure you want me to, it will not be pretty.

Alright.
This could take awhile. And I guess it means I better finish this beast. I gave up in world 8 after having a controller-throwing fit at Snow Mountain Castle by outcry312

But that level wasn't even that hard. If you get stuck anywhere, I can help.

Every level in this game is somewhere between hard and impossible.

This is what I get for being too good at SMBX.

I'd say about a quarter of the levels are hard.
It's not so much that the level is hard, just long and grueling and if you die at that boss (which IS very hard) you have to do it over and over .....

At least I made it to world 9 but man do I need a break.

World 8 did have a few good levels though.

1) Coffee and Donuts 2

Well that's someone else with damn good level taste...
I've not actually played for a while since Diablo III came out...
I remember that world 9 had a couple of stars I'm stuck with.
Also I only remember one level I got so frustrated at that I actually sweared at the game. (It didn't help)
And that level was labyrinth by someone I can't remember.
I don't know why, maybe because it was trial and error, but damn I hated it.

World 8 had my mushroom factory, if I recall correctly...
Which is really really really easy if you can get a blue shoe with you. Since the level doesn't really restrict you. However I know it's hard and it had some problems with the end, but hopefully nothing too big.

Next time, I recommend the following:

1) Come up with a limited number of worlds (like 6 or 8) beforehand. This way everyone will adjust their difficulty accordingly.
2) Have everyone make 1 to 3 levels per world.
3) Scrap the ones that aren't fun. (Go back and try again)
4) Don't have one guy shoulder the whole project. Everyone ought to be trying out each other's levels and offering feedback, rather than just one person. Collab = Collaboration. Most people have differing opinions on what is and isn't fun, and more feedback means more suggestions, more play testing, and better stuff overall. (I.E. This is part of the rules. All participants have to do it.)
5) No boundaries: Let the player go to whichever world they want and play any level they want.
6) And make it so you can only control Mario! Though that is a personal preference. :P

We should try to make a better game than Talking Time Bros 2.

We should try to make a better game than Talking Time Bros 2.

We should try to make a better game than Moon Base Mario.

Lots of folks seem to have ideas about how to make a more cohesive Mario game through a better-organized production, and their thoughts are not being ignored. However, if we do something along those lines, it won't be under the RMN Bros. name, and whatever may be, it still won't be happening for at least a few months. So try not to get too antsy; I'm sure none of you have found all 180 stars in this game yet. ;P
