Super RMN Bros. is a collaborative community project where members of the rpgmaker.net website use the Super Mario Bros. X engine to create Mario levels. These stages are refined and compiled into one big game at the end of the event. This is the third installment in the series, and the first to be managed by halibabica. The game mimics the physics of the Mario games of yore; specifically Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World.

The game requires SMBX to run. This website does not provide illicit programs; we only condone their use. Google is your friend. When you've obtained the engine itself, unzip this game's download into SMBX's 'Worlds' folder. Run SMBX, click 'Start Game', and you're ready to play!

The Plot: Mario, Luigi, Toad, Peach, and Link have stumbled into RMN's Pit of Challenges, where they must gather stars from the worlds created by our users if they ever hope to escape. With 110 levels to explore and 150 stars to find, they have their work cut out for them!

Ready for Download!

After nearly three and a half months, this thing's ready and available to play!

The main download is the normal version of the game. It has star requirements for higher worlds, mini-boss, and boss levels. The extra 'unlocked' download removes all star requirements except those for the final level and leaving the pit.

Have fun!

haha

I only cared about the official release. That's the one that matters. This is after the fact, a remix, just for fun, free for all, a fangame...so none of that applies.

Oh, but you just decided that you're the one who gets to make some kind of All-Stars compilation? Really? (I can play that game, too. What's up, bro? Why you disrespecting me, bro?)

xD hahah

As the one currently commandeering the series, yes, I did. I'm asking you to respect that, especially since you don't know what I have in mind.
I'm with Hali on this one. If he has a RMN All-Stars in mind, its best to let him do it, especially if it's considered an "official" project. Link, since you just want to make your own personal remix of it, just find a different name, there's no point having 2 RMN All-Stars games, that's just confusing. Looking forward to both RMN All-Stars & RMN World soon!
I've got my internet back up and i've (obviously) missed something, what have I missed...

Wouldn't that require effort? Okay, that's a low blow on my part.

Well Jackalotrun, Halibabica and Link_2112 were discussing who should produce and create Super RMN All-Stars. It's just a minor argument. Personally, I'm more interested in RMN World than an RMN All-Stars. Besides, how is one to determine what levels are the "best?"

For instance, I enjoyed Shell Games from World 1, while a lot of people hated that level. I got a kick out of the Kentona throwback levels, while others found them to be a bad idea.

So I am curious as to how All-Stars will be put together, but I do think that RMN World will be better, as long as quality control is imposed. Of course, that's a discussion for another time.

As for the conversation between Halibabica and Link_2112, I have a suggestion. Why don't the both of you work together and collaborate on the production of All-Stars?

That's an idea, but I already have something in mind. And yes, I'm being cagey with the details for reasons. You'll just have to trust me.
Thanks...
Why not just get people to vote for good levels, levels that get enough votes (say ten) get picked...
However you do it, I am much more intersted in SRMN World

It's not an official project, how can it be? The original authors of the levels aren't involved in the production. Not to mention the fact that he's never even mentioned it until now(to my knowledge). This is unofficial to the core.

One doesn't. That is exactly why some other one would want to make their own version.

Perhaps now is the best time to start discussing it.

Shout out ideas for worlds and people vote on the best 8, or however many. Everyone will make a level to fit any/all the worlds and they are put in a pool for that world. They are tested and weeded out and the best ones are used to create the worlds. It should be a world map, fairly small cause big world maps suck on SMBX. Stars should not be mandatory to progress in the game.

As far as how to make an All-Stars? You play each level and pick the ones you liked or felt were solid in design. I'm going to put my own twist on some of the levels, too. Some need to use their own gimmick more, or at least more responsibly. Plus, it would actually give players a reason to want to play these levels again. They won't be 100% the same. It will mostly be additions, and not drastic changes.
I think Link has the idea...
Why am I NOT surprised it's Link and Halibabica arguing...

Well, both had really unique levels and ideas. I guess it boils down to the mindset aspect.

Well I think that's a pretty good start. Of course, some people will object to having their levels tampered with. I have no objections to that, but others might. Hopefully you and Halibabica will be able to sort this out.

It's not an issue of trust. Really, it boils down to what the both of you intend to do. I, for one, am hoping for an amicable ending to all of this. Super Drama Brothers is something that should be avoided. :)

Well, we both agree on that. I like the idea of working on a fresh project with new ideas and higher standards. Best wishes to RMN-All Stars, but I prefer doing something new.

Damn straight. And no, I'm not keen on your ideas for All-Stars or SRW.

So do I. Maybe put this compilation project off 'till RMN World?
This is ridiculous, just sort it out, i'm sure it's not THAT hard to come to a compromise
If you object(for some reason) to having your level edited in my version of All Stars, let me know and I will instead make a similar level from scratch.

Edit: If you post in here beyond this point, I have to assume you are okay with it. Also, if you don't say anything I will assume

Let's hear your idea on RMNW then. I'm trying to open a dialogue with everyone who would want to take part so we can all figure out how it should go. You know, seeing as how this is a community event and not your private, secret game. So anyone who has an idea for it should speak up so we can all discuss it. BTW, what exactly about my idea isn't so keen?

Based on your history with RMNB, I have a hard time trusting you.

Actually, no. That's an even bigger recipe for disaster than RMN Bros. already is. Projects have leaders for a reason, and avoiding 'too many chefs in the kitchen' is definitely one of them. I have my plans for SRW, I'm not going to spoil them for you, my decisions are the bottom line regarding them, and you basically have no say in it whatsoever. Your idea isn't keen because it doesn't perfectly match mine.

That's a low blow. This was my first time running a project of this scale, and it's not nearly as easy as it looks. I learned from my mistakes, and I'm taking measures to ensure I don't make them again.

I know this post is gonna make me sound like a tremendous douche, but I'm sick of your attitude and putting my foot down seems like the only way to make you understand. You're not in charge of RMN Bros.; I am. Tough luck.
As far as I'm concerned(not that it means anything), you were only put in charge of RMNB3. You failed. Now someone else should have a chance to play dictator for a while. Not that I want to. There was plenty of interest when it came time to decide on who should run RMNB3.

And I really don't see what is so hard about it. You were just too busy running other events, apparently. It's a community event that is turning into something less about community. It doesn't mean getting rid of any sort of solid leadership. It just needs a leader who actually listens and discusses ideas with the other people participating. Maybe your idea isn't as great as you think it is. Oh well, I guess nobody will know until it's too late :D

You can put your foot down if you want, but it won't be landing on me :3 Me or my rebellious attitude.
