"I'm sorry for everything."

Ribbon of Green focuses on hope, strength and friendship within this competitive world of nothing but survival of the fittest and elitism. In a society like this, if you lose hope, nobody would help you. It will be all over.

This is the story of two female students who strived to survive in such a system. The system where the 'elite' students are treasured and well-maintained, while the rest are simply left behind, with no hope to the world...

Genre/Themes: Modern, friendship, school dropout, death, some elements of supernaturalism

Note: This is a Visual Novel game, not an RPG, which generally just means a sparkly ebook that is dialogue and narrative-heavy, with pictures and music, some choices and occasional unlockables. If you are looking for a gameplay-heavy game this is not for you. I'm happy to accept critiques on story, writing quality, art and so on, but I'd appreciate if a bad review isn't written simply due to lack of gameplay. Thank you and good day!

To anyone stumbling into this: the voiced version referred to in the description was made, but it was only uploaded on the dev's dead website and has almost disappeared from the internet. Wayback Machine has it, though: https://web.archive.org/web/20160630084348/http://dl.vnovel.com/soyasushi/Ribbon%20of%20Green%201.1.zip

Posting it here because I hate seeing things simply disappearing.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Why does this game's completion date say it was finished in 1995
I really liked your game this somehow inspired me to start using renpy. I wanted to put a review, but didn't feel sure. But well this deserves a review, I will post it through this week ;)
Thanks for your comment, Biggamefreak. :) I really appreciate it. However, since this is a visual novel, it is mainly meant to be a short story with pictures and music together with a few plot branches, so it may be difficult to give it full gameplay. I appreciate the suggestions, though!
The story was very dark and interesting. The symbolism and inner monologue felt very touching. I loved your use of symbols to describe Hanyuan and Clarice's tender relationship. Your artwork is simple and so beautiful. The music settled me into this broken character and her hopelessness.

There is almost no game aspect to it. You only have two game choices and if I even speak about them I spoil the game. This should not be your completed work. Please expand on the character's past relationships, give us more modern settings, and turn this short story more into a game format. I want to play past Clarice and modern Clarice. I would love to play more.
