Short But Powerful

Ribbon of Green is a pretty short game, about 30 minutes that you won't regret playing. This is somehow hard to explain without giving any spoilers, also this is my first review but here we go.

Sound: 4/5 Stunning Music, sound...not so much

I really fell in love with the music, not perfect but incredibly well-achieved. If you enjoy piano you will like the music a lot: this being said, don't expect to hear a solo of piano through all of the game; it is just a predominant instrument.
About the sound, I think there are just two sounds in the whole story, I really didn't like them too much but at least they fit the action.

Graphics: 3.5/5 Cute, sometimes great, sometimes not so much. Ugly? Never

The characters design is cute, not the best in my opinion, but the expressions were conveyed very well, I really like the eyes of Clarisse: when she is shocked I somehow felt shocked too.
As for the background, I don't know if the main background is a photo with filters or a nicely drawn background, but well, the backgrounds were all right.
The pictures were well achieved, the past really reflected the felling of a strange nostalgia, and also the change of filters was appropriate. The last picture in the good ending of Hanyuan is beautiful, and the picture of Clarisse’s eye is as equally shocking as the characters design.
The menu is original and the way you go to extras was very aesthetic.
I think the only thing I can complain about is the font, the first time I play I was wondering who was J until I find J=I. The names of Clarisse and Hanyuan don’t look neat.

Story: 4/5 Heart-touching, short and great

I really connected with the story in almost everything so maybe my experience was different from others. Somehow I don't feel like telling any details because I think it would spoil things a little. I will say the story doesn't waste words, everything it's important. But I can say it’s a motivational and symbolic game and it is successful in both things (the message is clear, don' waste your life), the game only has two decisions, in which one is symbolic (But important to the story as well).Somehow the message reminds me of driftwood from Travis.
The characters are very convincing and even if Hanyuan is pretty important the prize goes to Clarisse for her hopeless conformity with her life, this type of characters tend to be annoying for the audience but here I never hate Clarisse despite being like this, I really feel sympathy for her.
Also despite being a short game you don't end up wanting for more since the story is complete in every aspect.

thanks rabitZ for the grammar help
Overall: 3.5/5 A good game
