I just love puns as you can tell:D

Hey, it's Ljink in the digital flesh and as I am adding new ideas to Dragon Quest + I'd like some kind of input from the audience. This idea struck me when I was playing Dragon Quest 3 Snes Remix on Wii's HBC and I noticed that some things I was adding actually wouldn't fit a Dragon Quest type game. So that's why, guys and girls, I've put together this questionnaire. So I can do interesting things without stepping outside the
Dragon Quest charm barrier.

Please only answer questions that appeal to you and please answer accordingly to the numbered question:1

1.)In Dragon Quest + you have your own house. Pretty neat but would you like to be able to pay money to build up your house? Yay or Nay?

2.)This is almost set in stone but this is for DQ critics. I've found a way to ditch face sets and implement animated portraits for important dialogue. Would this ruin the charm of Dragon Quest?

3.)Do you personally like slower walking speed on the overworld?

4.)This question is for info background only... How many Dragon Quests have you played or beaten?

5.)If Downloadable Content was to be added would you download it? Or better yet would you report how many mini medals you've obtained to a specified blog?

6.)Do you like musical scores from Super Mario Bros. Don't ask... Yes or No?

7.)Do you like to engage in fetch quests?

8.)Are you the type that enjoys a good hard challenge, a just right challenge, or an easy challenge?

9. )If you have beaten a Dragon Quest which final boss is your fav? Besides The Dragon Lord obviously.

10.)Which is more fun Parchisi, Slots, Duck Hunt?

11.)Are you a good treasure hunter when it comes to RPGs?

12.)Monster Bestiary, Yay or Nay?

13.)Do you think it's a pain carrying more items or do you like the 99 limit?

14.)If Dragon Quest 10 arrives in the U.S. for Wii U would you purchase it?

15.)Dost thou liketh ye olden Middle Ages dialogue or ye modern style?

16.)Would you pay money out of your own pocket in order to rebuild a desolate village?

17.)Do you like nagging female party members?

18.)A little random and for music gurus but do you like Synthesized or Midi music?

19.)I found a very cheap way to emulate monster animations. Would you be interested in seeing how it works?

20.)Are you typically good at trivia games?

21.)If you could catch a slime, the character depicted in my profile image, would you do it?

22.)Do you like expansive towns that are built upon due to remake or do you like originals?

23.)If you were to travel/warp would you do so by a magical door that accepts magical keys or plain warp portals?

24.)Would you like to portray the community of Rpgmaker.net by signing up as a NPC for the post game of Dragon Quest +?

25.)Would it be helpful to those who haven't played the original to include dungeon maps in addition to overworld maps?

Thanks for your cooperation guys! This was a cooperative effort between Sierra and I in order to get to know how you guys respond to changes. Although I will have the final say, I still want to have thoughts from the audience so I can keep some things in mind. Please comment if you can. :D
This is Ljink signing off!

13) I like the 99 limit, i was never bothered by it in rpgs.

@CrazeGirl555

Man it seems like I'm the only person that hasn't completed Dragon Quest 7!XD

For question 16 yes it will benefit you greatly. I'll take your opinions into consideration. Thanks:)

1.) Sure! It depends on if rewards would be tied to it though or if it made the house more "helpful" to the player.

2.) Should be fine

3.) That's a tough one! Part of me says yes, but then the option is there to run, I'd never walk. I personally left the option for running in my game.

4.) I've played them all except 6 and come close to beating most of them, but haven't really beaten too many.

5.) It depends on how quickly it was released.

6.) Sure do!

7.) Yep, especially if the rewards are good!

8.) I'd say "just right" challenge, but I do enjoy a good tough boss every once in awhile! Not tough in that it hits you for 200 damage when you only have like 180 or something, but one that requires strategy!

9. ) Orgodemir

10.) Parchisi

11.) I'd say so!

12.) Yay

13.) Unlimited Inventory is best in my opinion.

14.) Sure would!

15.) Modern please.

16.) Yep! My game has something very similar. Can really make some interesting rewards with that system.

17.) I don't care.

18.) No opinion. Just make the music sound good. :P

19.) Sure.

20.) Usually.

21.) Yes!

22.) Expand.

23.) Magic Door! Go Dragon Warrior Monsters 2!

24.) If you want, sure.

25.) I mean, it couldn't not be helpful. However, I don't think it is needed at all.
@Orias_Obderhode

Wow, how different our opinions are:D This is really getting me thinkin'!

I totally agree with you on 23! I loved DWM2 so much that's where the idea came from. It'll also be the DLC. Basically each time you update you have a new key and more maps.

Thanks for taking time to answer our questionnaire:)
1) Yes! I love side stuff like that, such as restoring the world in Terranigma or WildARMS
2) Nope!
3) Usually, yes, though it depends on the size/scale of the world map *and* the speed itself.
4) I've only dabbled, haven't beaten any... I was always a Final Fan :D
5) Absolutely!
6) Of course!
7) Yup!
8) Just right challenge. Too easy is dull and too difficult is annoying.
9) NA/#4
10) Duck Hunt
11) Absolutely! No stone unturned :)
12) Nay. I never use it.
13) 99 limit is absolutely fine.
14) Since I don't have a Wii U and aren't planning on getting one yet, no.
15) A bit of both, depending on the situation.
16) Yes :)
17) Surprisingly, yes!
18) Synth/Chip YES!!! Though not all that keen on general MIDI.
19) Of course!
20) I can hold my own from time to time.
21) Seeing as how I used to binge on Ragnarok Online, yes :)
22) Expansive absolutely. I like originals, but then.. if I wanted to play original.... ;)
23) Depends on the situation that calls for it, though magical keys sounds fun.
24) HELL YEAH :)
25) Absolutely.
@sabin1981

U've got some personality there, this is near how Sierra and I answered the questions!

I love terranigma and that's the inspiration for the question regarding #1. I love a good challenge, never use bestiaries, Love naggy party members, dislike most midi music, and the magic key ideas.

Once again we still have final say but hey, great minds think alike:D

Thanks sabin and to everyone else, keep filling out those questionnaires!
Terranigma was a truly marvellous game and had some wonderful ideas that were, aside from Dark Cloud, never seen again :( The whole Soulblazer Saga was great.. but Terranigma holds my heart in a loving, yet firm, grip forever more :D That music! ^_^
@sabin 1981

Yeah talk about it. Soulblazer series was fantastic and it expanded on everything with each installment. The music was what drew me in from the start, the town theme of Crysta, the Overworld+Underworld, and the ship docks have some of the best scores ever. Long live Terranigma=D
Huzzah! Long live Terranigma indeed! One of the few RPGs we got in England that we didn't have to bloody import from America XD
Hiya:D Mind as well put in my 2 cents!

1)Yes, I thought this was a great idea! Reminds me of Earthbound.
2)It really shouldn't I loved The Legend of Heroes IV: Tear of Vermilion so much and it utilized animated faces.
3)Actually yes I do. It levels out gameplay mechanics I think.
4)Uh I think 1,3,5,6,7,8,9 so I've beaten 7 of them.
5)Yup
6)Yuppity
7)Yup
8)I like a hard challenge. Games are becoming easier by the day.
9)Yes, Orgodemir! Corvus is a close second:)
10)Parchisi definitely
11)I usually suck at finding secrets...:(
12)Never used one besides Final Fantasy series.:O
13)99 is enough
14)Maybe, I would love a traditional DQ on Wii U better.
15)I said modern but I remember that Ljink already used middle ages speech like in DW1. I'll talk to him about changing things...
16)Yes I would, if I benefit from it.
17)I'm a female, can't say I nag alot but... no comment.
18)It depends really. I think Ljink has chosen a fantastic musical score. That's my opinion anyway. But I prefer Synth, it sounds more pleasing to the ears.
19)I really have the upper edge on these questions so I can vouch for these ideas. The animations aren't bad but it takes a while. That's all I'm sayin'.
20)I'm a trivia Goddess:P
21)Yes it's very cute:)
22)I don't know why he asked some of these questions because he already expanded on alot of towns.
23)Magic Keys from dwm2 are the best way in this case.
24)He's working on me.
25)Maps are helpful but for DQ1 I don't think it's necessary.
1.)It depends on how early you can access to it. If you can buy it from start, it better is free (I think that if not, I would be just thinking about buying it, and my objective would change ahahaha!).
Also, I hope to give it some use C:!.
2.)I think it's ok.
3.)No, but I can tolerate it.
4.)Played, like 4 or so. Beaten, no one...
5.)Yeah.
6.)A little, but they're not my favourites.
7.)They give good money! So yeah! Money is good!
8.)Just right hard challenge!
9.)////
10.)Duck hunt! Err wait... that's not the game you're talking... Any of them.
11.)I like to roam.
12.)Yay.
13.)99 is the manliest number.
14.)I don't have WiiU, so nope.
15.)i berly talk anglish. But I don't care.
16.)If it's ingame money, yeah.
17.)I like nagging females. Dunno.
18.)Not much people like MIDI music, but I don't really like orchestrated music on most RPGs (realistic violin! but low-res graphics! I think it's weird). However, with the proper soundfont selection I think it will be okay.
19.)Why not? C:.
20.)I'm typically random.
21.)Yeah. But I will give it to my bear, who is a little hungry.
22.)I like expansive towns. I like anything that leaves space for more original/extra content.
23.)Does the plain warp portals need an item? Magical door or warp portal, I don't really care.
24.)Yeah.
25.)Not necessary but it would be helpful.

Salut,
OZ
@orochii

In regards to #4 Do yerself a favor and Play Dragon Quest 8!!!:D It's my fav rpg today. And I started off only knowing Final Fantasy.

#10- All 3 are being included as minigames with a twist of mine.

#23-Yes, Magic Doors are how traveling will work as of now and you'll need a key to access more areas.

Thanks for your time orochii, you guys still don't have Demov1.2... or...1.3:(
1.) Yes, though having to find materials would be nice too.

2.) No, it's nice to expand on the series a bit and something like this would be nice.

3.) Not if there's going to be battles or it's going to be huge. If it's small and has no random battles, then it should be fine.

4.) Um, most of them. I think I've played all bar 2 or 3. 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and X I've played and I've beaten a few of them.

5.) I'm not a fan of downloadable content. Just add the stuff in the game or make a patch at a later date if need be.

6.) Not in a game that's not Mario.

7.) I like lots of side quests as long as there's charm or treasure in doing so. If you put a ton in that are just boring, then it becomes too annoying. Try to make them interesting in some way/shape/form.

8.) I like an easy-medium challenge, but apparently my idea of easy is others idea of mid-hard. :/ I do enjoy some harder bosses though~

9.) I can't really say. I don't really remember them that much. I guess the one from V? He deserved that beatdown something chronic.

10.) Uh... Monster Arena~ ^.^

11.) I will find it ALL!!! >:D

12.) Yea, but only if there's necessity for it. Say you need items and need to know which monsters to get them from, at what rate and where said monsters are...

13.) I like the 99 limit, but if you want to be creative, go for it.

14.) No, I do not have a Wii.

15.) Only if you do it well. Same with accents.

16.) In-game? If given the option I would help as long as I have enough money. In DQ games I tend not to have enough money.

17.) Why not make characters who are both nagging and yet not? Real characters who don't subscribe to just one trope! There's a thought~

18.) I prefer midi, but synthesized is good too. Just make sure they fit the scenes they're used in and it should be fine, though.

19.) Sure.

20.) I'd like to say yes, but I'm afraid I have been proven wrong a few times.

21.) Hm, depends on what you could do with it and what it's stats were.

22.) Expansion is okay. As long as the town feels alive and fun/does what it's meant to do/has hidden treasures/can be explored/has lots of great NPCs I don't mind either way.

23.) Whichever makes the most sense in the game.

24.) Maybe.

25.) What's good for the goose is good for the gander. If you're going to make overworld maps, then dungeon maps would be nice too. You could make them findable within the dungeons if you like.
@Liberty

I always like to give feedback so in regards to...

#7: Yes, the fetch quests/side quests won't be like DQ9 where you "go get me 25 gold rosaries" or "kill 4 King Slimes while being blind folded." I like stories with a lil' bit of backbone.:D

#10: The monster arena, although very enticing, isn't really my main minigame focus this time 'round.

#17: Well there's only 1 female party member in the game so... thought I'd ask.

Thanks for filling out the questionnaire:D
