My ultimate goal is to be able to streamline enemy implementation to the point where I just change the picture and call an event that changes stats for the respective monster. Once I get through these hurdles, designing for the game will be smooth sailing.

I know I initially said June for a sneak peak but I had some extra time on my hands to put this to work. I hope you all are excited for the game, expect a new update soon.
So that old battle system was done away with? Thought I remember there used to be multiple character portraits.

Yeah, it's toast. I figured multiple extra party members would delay the game infinitely, and they ultimately didn't add much to the experience. It's basically a 1:1 copy of the SNES version in terms of the battle system.

There's new spells and animations but this is classic Dragon Quest. Perhaps in the future, I'll do an entirely new DQ fan game that uses portraits and multiple party members. Right now, I'm trying to get these hounds off of me from not being able to finish a game. I'll prove them wrong!
