I am both amazed and impressed at the beautiful and detailed sprite work, it looks gorgeous and cannot wait to sink my teeth into the game :D Despite my namesake, I am actually hard pressed to decide between VIII and VI for my favourites in the series ;)
The room looks too small for the player to move in properly. And I'm not sure what's going on with the wall on left - it looks pretty weird.
Other than that it's pretty.

It's more of a transitional/cutscene area than one the player is meant to explore. If the room's larger there's too much empty space.
And that's a part of the wall that extrudes and hides the sewer entrance. It didn't look as odd in the original because of the different angle orz.
I am also a semi-terrible object painter (I should stick to walls)

Actually, I'd say the room looked incredibly accurate compared to the original -- and very well detailed too! :)

Hah, I noticed some tiny detail off about the room, and am now gonna tell you about it. Bottom right does not have a potted plant, it has a globe thing (in addition to a potted plant).
And I do not have a large globe, huehuehue. I figured having painted the walls and that side part was enough for this map since I'm trying to limit how much custom tiles I have to do...since Balamb Garden will be mostly custom tiles, along with several other areas.
