These soldiers could attach some kind of blades over their guns and would also have gunblades, but ones that actually shoot. But we know that soldiers are too stupid to that so we can sleep in peace.

I thought gunblades did actually shoot? Like, if you hit the right trigger JUST as Squall struck an enemy, he'd shoot a bullet from the gun bit as the sword pierced them and it'd do extra damage.

But this is sexy times, and you are doing FF8 giiiiiant justice. Do moar now.
I don't consider FFVIII gunblades to be gunblades: I prefer FFXIII ones.

Am I the only person who thinks the soldiers wielding blades are wielding something that's reminiscent of the Revolver?
It's really hard to see the soldiers :O
I honestly see more of a blade that looks like one Cloud has.

You might consider this type of gunblade. :3

By that, I mean that instead of a vibration-based trigger, you could include a weapon that instead PROPULSES the weapon forward with a trigger.
it looks like the soldiers are tinted blue a bit too much.

its also a bit weird how the numbers are cut off by the sidewalk.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

What actually happens, if you read the in-game stuff in the computers at Balamb Garden, is that pulling the trigger on Squall's gunblade sends a shockwave through the blade.

@Caz: Final Fantasy VIII's gunblade design is vibration based. By pulling the trigger, you create a vibrating effect through the length of the blade which increases the damage output (by, in theory, eliminating the 'clean cut' and creating a jagged blow that would bleed more). The pistol-based types have less of an intense vibration than the revolver type.
That's why learning to wield a gunblade is difficult; there's a lot to learn, number one (using a blade, to begin with, then handling the gun, then handling the gunblade as a whole).

We're considering making a gunblade 2.0, but I'm still thinking of ideas for such a weapon since it won't make it's debut til the second part of the game.

@Amaterasu: if you have a look at Dissidia's gameplay, Squall uses the gunblade for that function even without a redesign (or transformation properties). Aaand since Squall's skillset includes some of his Dissidia moves (such as Beat Fang) using the gunblade as a propulsion instrument might be on the cards.

I'm probably going to adjust the tint on this map, since I agree wholly about the soldiers being difficult to see/washed out by it. They're blue to begin with, so I'm not exactly surprised.

@Link: not a big enough concern to warrant an edit.

Aw what that's lame, I thought there were cool bullets and stuff. :/ Vibrations are less cool! Make things with more bullets!
