Final Fantasy: Discovery is an RGSS3 learning project aiming to mimic popular Final Fantasy series mechanics and blend them into a single game.

For decades, since the discovery of the Fire Crystal in Palamecia, the nation has been growing increasingly bold, looking to expand their territory and grip over Gaia. Of the five nations that make up the world of Gaia, only the Burmecian kingdom of Figaro has prepared themselves to challenge Palamecia, led by Emperor Vayne...

Fifty years after the Crystal's unearthing, a young girl, Ashe, emerges from where it once slept, claiming to have come from a gateway to other worlds similar to Gaia. She appears with a dire warning; the Crystals of Gaia and many other worlds are in danger. In Figaro, the king's personal bodyguard, Beclem, finds a young female Caller on death's door after a long journey from Aquaria, and takes her under his care. The girl, Ellie, reveals that the Esperkind her people communicate with also feel that many worlds are in danger of utter collapse. They will need to unite the humans and Esperkind once again, as it was in the distant past, to overcome the battles ahead...

In the Bisga Greenlands, home to chocobos, moogles, and people of all kinds, a reclusive hunter watches in horror as the Palamecian war machine marches on her lands. The hunter, Priscilla, vows to put an end to their destruction of Gaia's natural resources...

Deep undercover in Palamecia's military ranks, a rebel soldier who's been fighting the Palamecian Empire almost his entire life is about to bring his organization into the light, for the sake of defeating them. With his custom firearms in hand, Kelger joins the fray...

Final Fantasy Discovery is very much about bringing it all together, both in terms of mechanics and the game's story. I hope you enjoy it.

Can you send me the scripting you used for your battle system? Trying to make a game and it would be useful if I could get the script that you used to give that side perspective, I would be very grateful.

I was making quite a bit of progress with the game art this past week... until yesterday. Twelve/thirteen hours a day slumped over my drawing tablet has kind of messed up my hand. I'm going to have to give it a rest for a day or two, hah.

The last time this happened, my right hand was out of commission for close to two weeks... Although that was from grinding rare items in Castlevania: Harmony of Despair...
Sorry to hear about your hand. I have quite a few friends who are artists and they run into the same problem when they do art.

Hah, thanks. A sore hand isn't too much to sweat about... but my back on the other hand...

Sometimes I have to wear a back brace when I draw because of the height of my chair and the way I'm hunched over my tablet. I'm usually reminded of how much time has passed when (A). The sun comes up, or (B). I suddenly feel a massive stabbing pain in my lower back/side, or (C). My vision starts getting blurry. Hah, its amazing that I still have perfect vision.

Anyhoo, I digress... I've got lots of stuff I'm working on... but I have this bad habit of splitting my time over quite a few different pieces at once. Some days I'll work only on portraits, while other days might be spent solely on maps.

I'll post something *sorta* cool by Monday. :)

I think that Janus gave a clear sign that the game will also have manga accompanying it, so I presume the work is going faster than Sonic runs. ;P
Just dropping by to say that a lot of pretty monster sprites from Final Fantasy VI's smartphone release are dropping on FFWiki: will certainly help in adding more enemy variety to the game. ;)

Actually, there's a whole folder of sprites from FFVI iOS here, uploaded by Detective Sabin of FFWiki. It's hardly organised structure, especially the monsters since you have to spent a minute or two to make the background transparent, resize the image, and rename it to something more 'meaningful'.

Also, how is the progress? Need any tunes to find? ;)
Progress is coming along. Finalized some new Gold Saucer stuff recently, which is where I'm at with the story at this point (give or take a few things I'll have to revisit as we go) and wrote a lot of dialogue that I'll need to review soon. Haven't heard much from Paul lately so we'll have to wait for him to pop back in to talk about his stuff.

Players will probably have more access to side-quest stuff in a bigger variety in the next release outside of just the Gold Saucer games, like starting off the Coins quest, encountering the Ragtime Mouse, stuff like that.

And hey, I'm always open to new music! If you find something you think is good, just PM it on over to me.

i was thinking that in Real ff games i never had enough BOSS BATTLES so without trying to poking in your job my sugestion would be to have some boss battles with the aeons the u goin to get like ff 7 boss battle gave materia that bahamoth was inside ff 8 fight vs ifrit,diablo,bahamoth to get them , what im trying to say is pls more boss battles :P.

i have played the game only till the newclear bomb cuz i dont wana spoill the fun so i dont know what is goin on after that point no spoils pls :P
