Fixed a bug that had been plaguing me for the better part of a YEAR tonight. Needless to say, I'm pretty damn excited about it. It was present in all releases of this project, and NOW IT'S BEEN DEFEATED LIKE A LOWLY IMP.
That's really all I wanted to say, but I don't wanna be guilty of posting such a short blog post (historically, that doesn't go over well at RMN) so I'll add a few more things here now.
For those that don't visit the RMN forums, but may be subscribed to this project, you should really check out this topic for a really good deal on RPG Maker VX Ace! If you ever wanted to make your own Ace games but didn't have the dough, now is the time to buy it!

Next up, Paul and I have been speaking about a bit of a side-quest the player will have thrust upon them in-between visiting Mysidia and Lix, and it looks like we've worked out the initial details of that, so I can announce here that you'll be seeing a few more Al Bhed NPCs in the next release of the game. =)
A few skill updates: all of the elemental protection spells (NulBlaze, etc.) have been updated to also remove and prevent elemental weakness conditions like Ignited, Charged, and the like. It didn't make sense to be able to completely nullify Fire damage, and still potentially have a weakness to it by being applied with both status conditions. It didn't actually affect anything (the party member would still be immune to Fire-elemental damage), but it's more aesthetically pleasing and just makes more sense.
Finally, I just wanted to show you guys this battle...
He talks a lot of smack, but he backs it up!

Nice! I remember you troubleshooting that particular bug for a loooonnng while. Nice bloody work mate.

On that note, I'm probably going to have to make a blog post sometime this next month about the graphical progress towards the next demo... concerning sprites *ahem*

Man, I had a much longer animation in mind for his special attack (because it'll be the same one used when you summon him with Ellie), but I was falling asleep when I was making it, so I cut it short enough to use for now. I'll revisit it later on sometime. I've also gotta revisit the animations for Ramuh, Fenrir and Golem, too.
Ramuh and Fenrir haven't been updated since before the game's resolution changed (which means the animation needs to be changed to fit the screen) and Golem's timing is way off.

That "wait is her secret code word for attack!" line kills me. Also, call me crazy, but did you finish the "animation" for the poison status effect icon? I could have sworn the colors pulsated briefly at 1:32-1:33.
