New Sprites & A Help Request

Hey guys, I recently downloaded the iOS game, Final Fantasy All The Bravest. It's a realllllly crappy game that Square Enix put out, seemingly with the sole purpose of insulting their fans...

However, the game does come with some new battle sprites of monsters previously unseen in a 2D format (like enemies from FF7, FFX and FFXIII). I've ripped a bunch of them, but there's a small issue. They are basically shown on the iPhone screen at 2x, and they had to be ripped that way.

The problem is, whenever I resize them (even though the canvas is equal in both width and height), the sprites come out all distorted, which makes NO sense to me. Anyone else ever have this issue when resizing a sprite. I've never run into this issue before. If a sprite was 100 x 100 pixels, and I resized it to 50% (it's intended size), it always came out A-OK.

These just... don't. Of course, I could replicate them myself at their normal size, but that'd take a ton of time. I've tried it in Photoshop, Paint and GIMP and the result is always the same.

I'd love to be able to complete this set and include them in the game (and release them for the community to use). If anyone has any insights on a fast fix, let me know!

Here's one of the sprites in question. This is at the size it was ripped, which is 192 x 192 (double it's actual size).
Erm, nevermind. Got it figured out. Expect the full pack over the next day or two!

EDIT: I will only include NEW sprites and those that haven't been seen before in a 16-bit format (Cloud of Darkness, Hein, FF7 enemies, etc.). All sprites that have a better version (i.e. the ones that were in PSP remakes) will be left out.


Here's a few of the sprites at their normal sizes (I added some transparency on their shadows, as well). Hopefully I can have all of them ripped, resized, and touched up by tomorrow and put up a download for the pack. I'll also be doing all of the item icons that are in the game. Those will be next.

What is depicted on the third image anyway?
Sword Dance, an enemy from FFVII (encountered in the ShinRa Building, if memory serves).
You're gonna use those sprites in the game? They might be a bit clashing with character sprites in terms of size.
It'll be cool to see 2D Final Fantasy XIII sprites.
Probably won't use the smaller ones. There are some that would fit well, though. Not all of the sprites are in the same style actually. Like I said in the original post, SE churned this game out with very little care for the people who would be playing it (and paying for it).

With the little gameplay I saw, I can say that's true. I mean, for an "official game", using Final Fantasy 4, 5, 6, whatever sprites all mixed up...
And that game isn't really a game. It's an expensive touchscreen tester.
As luck would have it, I dropped my iPhone after posting these and the screen broke, lol. Gonna hold off the ripping project until I get it fixed up or replaced tomorrow.

My unsmartphone Nokia 2730 it's alive after kissing gravel a hundred times! (it's a real Bonehead >8D).
I've dropped my iPhone 4S a ton of times and only the back glass shattered... but my luck finally ran out.
