HOW TO UNLOCK A GUEST CHARACTER
First, a player has to complete the game and start a New Game+ file. Players will need to collect Lifestream Cores by defeating challenge bosses in the Arrowny Gallery in Treno. Defeating a challenge boss always awards Lifestream Cores, and extra Lifestream Cores may drop by defeating challenge bosses in a specific way, such as with a Limit Break or an attack of a certain element. Each boss' extra drop condition is displayed to the player prior to challenging them.
To complete the process, players can bring their Lifestream Cores to Lulu's Statuary and trade them to her, where she will bring her statues of various famous Final Fantasy series characters to life. The character unlocked will permanently become a part of the player's party, at level 1 with all of their possible abilities unlocked right away.

Will the villain representative from VIII be Edea, Seifer, or Ultimecia?
We shall see.
In all fairness, the main story characters of VI were a given (Terra, Locke, Celes, Edgar) and I had to use Kefka too, so the last two spots were reserved for my personal choices and those went to Sabin and Setzer (my fave!). Leo would be cool to add, but I want all series to have an equal number of entrants, so adding him would mean I'd have to add one more to each game :D

General Leo isn't in Final Fantasy IV, so that makes sense. :D

Wow they actually released the VII characters? SE usually is so damn slow because "Reasons".
Most of the VII/VIII cast aren't out just yet in FFBE in JP, but the ones listed here are the ones I'd want to include.

As part of the special #7 unlocks, which are all villains as Kaliesto predicted, Mateus (FF2) is now announced. The villains, typically, are VERY strong characters. Players wil need a lot of Lifestream Cores to unlock them, as they are all unlocked at once.
I'd also like to take this time to announce that each unlockable character will come pre-equipped with a unique piece of gear. The armor, relic, or materia that the character comes equipped with can then be used by any other character, provided they can equip gear of that type.
For instance, Mateus comes equipped with the Dark Bond materia, which cannot be bought or crafted. Once you have him, you can equip that materia on anyone else of your choosing. In essence, by unlocking characters, you're also unlocking free new gear that has a high probability of being unique one-time gains.
Would it be possible for you to add FF The After Years Golbez for me? That guy is awesome!

Lukahn From final fantasy I (Sage)
Vampire From Final Fantasy I (Vampire Class?!)
Also for what it's worth, NIer:auotmata (and Ariana Grande for some reason)`Are now in final fantasy through 6 degrees, so if you want a silly character in one of those ????? slots...
I kind of already know who are gonna fill those slots, I think; and they won't be FFBE released units (at least not as of yet)

If enough people want him in, he could end up in there. :D

That seventh column could very well end up being all villainous characters, but for now, I prefer to consider that column as a "just in case someone really awesome comes out for that game, I have an extra slot" sort of column, if that makes any sense. :P

I'd still like to see some villains added to the mix. I need my Emperor Mateus. But if they're the hidden column like expected I guess you can't confirm that.
