Double Trouble is a game created in RPG Maker 95. This game was started in December 1999 and completed in January 2001.

Double Trouble is an epic RPG, approximately 30-40 hours long, following the heroics of two young heroes named James and Jesse. After their parents are murdered by wandering bandits, they decide to become heroes who fight crime. They call themselves Team Rocket, and eventually uncover dark secrets within the Martec Empire, leading them to an even more important journey.

Yes, you read that right. Team Rocket vs. Evil Empire, played completely straight with no hint of irony.

Okay, maybe there's a small hint of irony.

This game is a comedy. In between (and sometimes during) the scenes that progress the serious main plot, you will blow up a continent with TNT, attach a jetpack to a dog, buy suspicious pharmaceuticals from a guy named Obviously Dangerous Man, recite the Team Rocket motto at completely inappropriate times, and be subjected to a lot of bad puns. A pretty good amount of the stupidity is also unintentional, because it was made by a fifteen year old version of myself. Fifteen-year-old me was not very good at writing good dialogue or coming up with believable conflicts. But he was still way funnier than you.

If you've played Vindication, you'll notice some similarities between the two. Vindication was originally titled Double Trouble 2: The Third and was a sequel to this game. But then I realized this game was terrible and no one should have to play it. ...Er, I mean, I decided to go in a different direction.
...
Actually yeah this game is terrible and no one should have to play it. BUT YOU'RE GOING TO ANYWAY.

Prepare for trouble.

Thanks now I see funny colours after looking at this page for a little to long
Hm, this whole page is shaking...I must have somehow defeated a load bearing boss without realizing it. Will check this game out once I've made my escape!

I'm dismayed but not surprised. Due to RPG Maker 95's engine limitations, I actually had to reuse many switches for multiple purposes, which is a mess. Trying to fix a bug like that fifteen years later might be impossible.

Did that bug mess up your game? Sorry. If you mail me your broken save, I can at least fix the save and send it back to you.

To be honest, I was so peeved I just called it quits and deleted everything.

I would, however, be totally down with you remaking the game in VX Ace or something because the rest was pretty charming.

Holy shit, is this the CSS on this page? I'm having trouble clicking on links! Wow! This is actually kind of neat.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I know you probably don't care, but there's a problem in the Omega Tower where you can get stuck after saving and ruin your entire game. When you enter the 2F room (the one where you need Masamune and Dragon's Lance), there's a faulty switch or something.

It's just you.
The game page is shaking or is it just my browser? I seriously thought I was going to have a seizure. :(

If that's the prison in the capital city, you're somewhere between a third of the way and halfway through the game.

So I'm at the prison after you want to join the Crimson Guard. Just out of curiosity's sake (and for the fact that I want to write a review by the end of the week for more meat), about how far in am I?
Boah, okay. I did not expected games to be that difficult. Kick myself in the as. Years ago I would have found it out for myself (ähm, no). I found it, Yippie. NOW I will beat this game without your help ;)

I would not be surprised to learn that such a major bug was in the game, but in this case you're looking for an unmarked spot on the world map that leads to a hidden area, so I'm pretty sure you just didn't find it yet. Take the ferry across the lake south of Nizbel and just kinda wander around in the swamps.

It's near the west side of the swampy region.
I cannot find the Mazamuze, maybe I found it too early in the game and now it forgot that I am the proud owner? Like myself? I have a vague remembrance, but I would not bet on it.

If you shake your head enough the page appears pretty still.

They say there's some sort of hidden treasure somewhere in the marshes south of Nizbel.
Now I cannot find the guardian of omnipotence, a little hint pleeeaase.
Ahhhhhhhhh, I thought there was something suspicious about the gap, but obviously I never tried it. Thank you very much.
And what is wrong with their eyes, 10 beers compensate the flickering, I have no problems.
