I tend to limit my items to 10 and what not. 50+ of a single healing item is pretty hard to balance IMO.
Despite what several people may say, I loved the 32 item limit inventory in Legend of Dragoon. It really made you decide on what you really needed to keep with you at all times. (Limits are nice.)

But anyway, a banking system is always nice, even if I don't think I'll EVER need that many potions, anywhere outside of like Final Fantasy or something, haha..
Limit will be imposed on the game. But the major reason why I imputed the banking system. Because some scene will change the player inventory which cause the main character (Which is Sky)inventory to be disable to use Christine inventory if both of them split up for a while. (Did I just say a spoiler? nevermind.) So before that scene start, player can transfer some item to the bank so they can use the item and possible some money contain from the previous character inventory to the current character inventory. But I will also allowed to switch inventory anytime in a certain part of the game so you can get all the item from the previous inventory. (In the case if such inventory became inaccessible due to unforeseen event) But I don't know if this system will have make the game unbalance. But since is still under premier beta (Global beta program) There will be some changes.

So, unless players use the bank, the items in the inventory (Money too?) would be lost after the character switch? Am I even reading this right?

Well Yes and it just temporary. But I will show warning about it so you can go back to the bank and store any of the item you need.
