"Twhylight" is a very short and unfinished visual novel made for the badaption contest in the glory of rmn's birthday celebration. You start with the introduction to how your life has changed and are thrown into the everyday life of a totally average girl where you meet the person who will change her life forever! Then it ends.

There is so little story in here, and given that the story is (at least converning the basics) so well-known, I shall not care about possible spoilers for this three minute long game. Granted, I never read the books, nor watched the movies (except the honest movie trailers), but you won't get around knowing the gist of it. And this little piece won't touch deep.

The life of every girl. .. right?

You are then thrown into the school life - a very good transition from the opening narration with some nice banter including insulting good and bad teachers. "Ms. Hitler" included.
I had a hard time telling the different characters apart, as I don't know them and am given no more time do so, but they're creating a friendly atmosphere no less.
You have even indications of character traits! Like yourself being clumsy. Although you have yet to trip over nothing.

You are then observing the group of pale, mature, beautiful people who only ever appear on cloudy and rainy days, are treated as celebrities and do whatever they want. Hmmmmmmm. Whatever that might mean! I have no idea!

Their parents are hotties as well!

The writing is simple and cheesy. You are just a little stupid girl, and it shows.
When you later encounter a brickwall of silence aka Edward, you interpret all kinds of things into his silence.
"He doesn't say anything, he must appreciate me teaming up with him!"
"..."
"What?! You don't start talking to me although I sit next to you?! YOU HATE ME!"

He's done nothing at all, but you are already thinking waaay too much about it. Which sets the way for romance, since you are already mentally investing.

We won't see any of this deep, wonderful and realistic romance though. There is only this introduction, the cafeteria scene, and the class scene. You can go exploring a bit before you enter class, but while the barren building is there .. there are no people. All class rooms except yours are empty. Your friends just magically disappeared. Or they all (including teachers) skipped school. Who knows.

That this part has been neglected also shows in the simple fact that you can run over many many objects that are not in the direction you are supposed to go to. You can even climb on the walls on walk around there.

I am free!

This game may be tagged as complete .. but it isn't. There's little substance of a well-known tale in here which is just as cheesy as those crackers I never eat.
All those who already know and like it will be disappointed while all those who know and don't like it still won't like it.

It's a literal badaption - it's barely there, it does what the original does in another medium.
Its creation left Liberty wondering why she ever created it.
Playing leaves you wondering you ever wanted to play this as well.

It's certainly not a harmful or frustrating experience, but it is bland and with neither merit nor substance.

OH, it's complete. As in, I'm never touching it again and it was only ever planned to be that long since we only had a few hours to create a game. XD

Glad you played, even though it was really, really, really bad. But hey, that was the name of the competition, so... ;p
