It's just plain boring

I was not expecting a game like this. In all honesty I wasn't sure what I was expecting.

The plot of WWF vs. WWF is that the World Wildlife Fund sent threats to World Wrestling Federation over the fact that their names happen to have the same abbreviation. So, three wrestlers from the WWF decide to go and teach the animals a lesson and go beat them up.

I'll start with the good in this game. The basic plot is actually pretty funny. I mean, it's sort of a what-if thing, you know? The graphics, although they clash a bit, fit and are used well. I particularly like the long range chair throwing animation, and the backflip animation.

What I don't like is how broken this game is. Let me try and explain.

Basically you have 3 characters you can control. Bret Hart has a weak attack but can throw chairs long distances, Ric Flair is sort of in the middle and has this shorter range attack that can hit enemies in groups, and Razor Ramon has a strong attack strength but a short range.

So once the game begins you select your actions and start playing, and it's actually rather enjoyable. You feel like this could be a fun but silly game.

Until you scroll the map.

Why god why?

Simply put, there are too many enemies. WAY too many. Bear in mind this is the first map of the game. This is much too many foes to start off with. Enemies in such quantities should be reserved for things such as the final boss, not when people are just starting to get the hang of the game.

I'll be honest, I couldn't make it past this point. All the enemies are the exact same weak foes for the entire thing. I gave it a good 10 minutes before I scrolled the map even more and saw more weak enemies I needed to kill.

Simply put, this game was ruined by a lack of gameplay pacing. You can't just throw a new player into a map stuffed full of rats and bears and tell them to kill said enemies for 20 minutes with the same moves over and over.

No thank you.

I understand this game was created for a 5 hour contest, but since the developer has presumably not updated this game in over a year I must assume it's the final product.

Here's the thing. This games DOES have a lot potential, silly as is it. If you give the players more options, lessen the amount of enemies, and fixed any other noticeable flaws, then this could actually be really fun!

As it stands now, there is no real reason to play this unless some real work is put into it.

Final Verdict: 2/5

Two stars? You're generous. Thank you.
At some point I may revisit this and convert it into something a little more enduring, but not until I finish my current opus. For now, some cheap MS from a star rating will do.
