Looked like the Dark Tower... but I got a Dork and no Tower!

Yep! The beginning intro was much like the Dark Tower: a mystic cowboy wanders a dark fantasy world filled with dangerous creatures, looking for his nemesis! Anyway in this case the game becomes totally wacky as you fight undead arms and you help bizzarre characters.

So bad it's so good
I like B movies, and this game is so cheesy and silly that distinguishes itself from most of other rpgmaker games. First thing: no maps or charsets, the game is a sort of "choose your adventure" and you have always a first person view. You can sometimes choose the path and this will determine the opposition, the items tou will find and some other minor events. Most of the game is linear and rather silly!

Combat... well you are a cowboy so you will have guns, of course. Starting with a normal gun, then a minigun, a weird double barrel thing and some kind uzi (called shadow gun). But being this a fantasy world, you will find spells too! You also can equip various hats and clothes that works like armor, and things to throw. Let me explain: the guns consume bullets (more powerful ones consumes more bullets) and sooner or later you will have to reload. Throwing items instead is a "standard attack" that doesn't consume bullets and can be performed anytime, especially when the opponent will block your guns. And it will happen!
You can also buy and equip amulets that protect from different damage sources, and if you need healing there is cocai...hm magic healing powder!

You do not earn experience to level up, but you earn levels (increasing life points and bullets) taking steroids from some helpful people. No, really!

This part reminds Fallout to me! Let's prepare a beefsteak!

Special effects and other random things
I liked a lot how the enemies are animated: sometimes monsters open their mouths and ghosts emits smoke, and so on. Nothing special, but I liked the idea, as I like how the attack are rapresented: don't expect a simple sound and the effect, but you will see the gun drawn shooting to the enemy. Likewise you can see the items you throw to the opponents, then there are some other nice scenes like the one in which you run and see the moon and the trees moving below it. A nice effect, like the one in which the bat flies through the corridoor.

But hey sounds are nice too! Lots of weird sounds and nice classical tunes. I really liked the selection.

Ugly things
Ok this is a goofy game so silly that I find really difficult to find if some things are errors or if it's done of purpouse. Some examples?
In the beginning the protagonist is called Grissin, then Grissen and then Grissan!
Then there is the problem that some people would probably not appreciate this kind of game, it's not clever, not refined, it's just a wild adventure of a badass mix between Chuck Norris and Duke Nukem. Other characters are even less defined, and they range from dumb merchants to weird and/or insane individuals. But hey, that's a short game, and if you have fun with what you have it's enough for me!

Final Thoughs
This game is everything but not bad at all. I mean, it's not frustrating to play, it's rather easy instead, has a decent variety of situations and does not drag for too long, it's also quite short so it does not become too boring. Clearly this small game is pretty linear (but has no bugs or issues) and I won't play it more than once, anyway I did not expect much at all and think it was a pleasant surprise!
So it's 3. Average for a not so average game!
