Any idea on when the full game may be done....lufia 1 and 2 are my fav rpgs growing up

Its going to be a long time, I won't lie =/.

But look forward to the new demo, it will show you what the full version will really be like.
I am not getting anywhere with RED HAT. Damn little witch doesnt seem to take any damage when I hit her with the sword and plus the sticky key messes me up.

You have to be moving towards her, just like bushes.
Looking forward to doing a playthrough of this!

If only i could find a way to help you out in even the littlest way.

Thankyou from the bottom of my heart for dedicating the valuable time of your life to bring a huge smile to our faces.

It takes awhile to figure out, but once you've got it, its addicting as hell =P
That is 100% true. You have to have a plan and an image of what you want your game to be like in terms of graphic style, atmosphere, events, music, battles, and storyline. The plotline and puzzle designs are my main struggles. I'm trying my best to avoid cliches and add some nostalgic moments in Lufia VI so that it comes out being a truly great experience. I know how to do mapping, battles, some puzzles, and a bunch of other stuff, I need feedback on the plotline when I explain what its about.
subbing this one and downloading. I like games like this.
I've been having a blast playing this game all wknd. It is very reminiscent of Lufia 1 & 2. I truly enjoy the mix of music from 1 & 2. The battle system is done surprising well, considering the limitations of 2k3. The plot, setting, and characters are so well done, that it seems like I'm really playing a professional sequel to the SNES Lufia games. Job well done, DTG.

I'm currently in the Labyrinth dungeon and I can't get to the key. I pushed the block into the teleporter and got to the other side, solved all the puzzles past there and got to the locked door. However, I can't get to the treasure chest next to the "running" goblin. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The locked door in the room with the pots is unlocked by cutting the bushes in that room and putting a pot on the circular pattern on the floor.

Also, glad to hear you're liking the game =D
Thanks for the tip. I should've figured that would do it. I'd cut all the bushes and saw the spot, but didn't even think to put the pot there.

I found a glitch. I'm at the mountain west of the port city. I found an endlessly respawning enemy. It is after the puzzle in which the 3 blocks have to be placed on the switches simultaneously. There is a bridge with a treasure box on the left and right sides. The enemy next to the treasure on the right will keep respawning. Luckily, I was able to use Escape to leave the mountain and save.

BTW, I'm still enjoying the demo very much.
Gades is still as beastly as ever! That guy has always given me the chills...

Edit:

I was unable to duplicate the glitch. Maybe the enemy has to be in a specific spot? Anyway, you can always use Escape if it happens.

I just finished the demo too. You have quite a bit of knowledge about the Lufia mythos! The way that the plot is going makes this game actually feel like a Lufia game. It's hard to put in words how much praise I have for this game. I sincerely hope that you retain your motivation and finish this one.

On a side note, I noticed a small inconsistency:
After defeating the Tarantula, Serik comes in and mentions "Denthir" as being the 5th Sinistral. I thought that his name was "Jaxe"? Also, the name "Jaxe" is mentioned again by Cam while on the boat to Ostiaka. Am I missing something?

Now for curiosity's sake:
I noticed that Teika and Red Hat (that nut!!) essentially share the same palette as Iris/Erim. I'm guessing that they are incarnations of the Sinistral of Death? I remember that Erim lost her memory for awhile in FOD and became Lufia, but in ROS she had them intact as Iris. Is it a similar situation with Teika and Red Hat? One last thing, is Arek the Absolute gonna make an appearance?

Thanks for all your hard work and I'm looking forward to the day I see "Complete" as the status of this game.

As for the endlessly spawning enemy, its a known bug. If you approach the Kobold from the right side of it, it will keep fighting you over and over, haven't updated the Demo 2.2 in a year or 2 now. Denthir was the original name of the Sinistral of Hate, but was changed to Jaxe, when I changed the name, I missed a few "Denthir" here and there. As for Teika and Red Hat... I can't say ;)

Both of the bugs - Kobold and "Denthir" have been fixed and will work correctly in the eventual full version.
Speaking of bugs, I forgot to mention you had a minor passability issue in that mountain. It's in the top left corner of the room with the "Plain Ring" treasure. The wall in that spot was a slightly different color from the rest of the room, so naturally I was curious.
Okay, so a (long) while ago I meant to make a review for this game. I got around to taking a bunch of notes but never put them together. Now I've just found said notes and figure, hell, why not post them for your perusal? There might be a suggestion or two in them that can help the game.

Seeing as how the original was 16-bit, you could have got a better titlescreen. I mean, it's just chips and the lufia logo.
Odd to use the version 1 villains, but the version 2 heroes. They're a different resolution and it tells.
Nice to see the original sound effects.
Yay~ Recreation
Like the credit roll. It's nicely done.
Might be an idea to re-rip doom island. It's very... pixellated and looks really bad compard to the other chips.
Again the title graphics is horrible quality. >.<;
Mapping is a bit miss. Maps are much larger than they should be in a Lufia fangame and the inside maps are especially so. The chapel is in need of some good shift-mapping, too.
Some slight grammar issues.
Teleport problems. You telelport onto another teleport spot so that when you can't just press back.
I liked the arena fight. :D
Would have been nice if Teika was coloured like the others - sepecially her hair. It looks a bit wrong to have her hair a hodge-podge of pixels when the other characters all have a specific style.
Some textbox cutoff.
Battle system looks pretty nicely done. I mean, it's not exactly Lufia style, but for a 2k3 game, without doing your own cbs, it's decent. It is a pity you couldn't do a proper TP thing, though. :(
Yay~ Finding-holdy uppy items animations~
Forgot to add the landing sound when you fall through a hole.
Dungeon is cool~
Error on the battle background of the normal plains. The grass to dirt part
Puzzles so far are simple but fun - make an x, push onto switches, switch to change things
If someone dies you're pretty much screwed since there are no life restorers and healing points don't revive you.
Had no idea what to do with Red Hat, so by the time I figured it out I was dead. Maybe give a hint that you need to use your sword on her?

Excellent job with this! I spent most of my weekend playing through most of the demo, and the puzzles so far were very well thought out. Never impossible, but some were a tad frustrating, in a good, challenging sort of way.

Story-wise, I think this offers something fresh to the Lufia world. It did feel a tad rushed in parts, especially in the parts surrounding Ralke, but overall it's well done and in great step with the classic 16-bit games.

My only thought is that it may be a bit more beneficial to players if the Strong spell was available earlier in the game (in the first town).
Aye, delicious pixelated animation!

Minor question, are there capsule monsters as in Ruins of Lore?
Can't wait to play it. From the reviews you've been getting I'd say it'll
Be worth checking into. By the by, it seems you've been at this a while
so I was wondering have you ever lost vision on your path. I ask
This because of a project Im planning on with rm2k3.
