Liked Castle Oblivion 3? Check out the Remake of the original Castle Oblivion! http://rpgmaker.net/games/7548/

New to the series? For all of you who are new to Castle Oblivion Series, I highly recommend you to check the "History of Castle Oblivion" section!

Story:
A scientist known as Evan has his own hobby of exploring places around the world. Rumor has been told that a treasure is hidden somewhere on a very rare island that is said to be hidden deep within a fog so thick that not even the eye of a deaf captain could see it. As the young scientist prepares to sail out in the sea in hope to find the hidden island, a greater evil awaits them that neither Evan or his companion are aware of. Will this treasure hunt turn out as it was expected, or will a drastic wave change the course of this adventure?

World:
The story takes place on the ancient island of Strombidge. This island isn't the normal paradise you'd travel to on your vacations, this is the island that's so well hidden that no one's ever found it. The story also takes action in a place beyond reality. Is it a dreamworld, or is it a paradise? Is it even real? You'll have to find out about that yourself!

Gameplay and Mood:
The gameplay takes place in 2 different worlds! On the mystic island, Strombidge and inside the floors of The Castle. The game is meant to be fun to play, exciting, emotional, scary and challenging. CO3 will deliver an epic mix of both reality AND imagination. So if you're the fan of games based on true reality or the fan of the games that are surprisingly imaginable, stay on, this game might do the trick for both of you.

Features:
- A mysterious castle filled with over 9 different worlds to explore!
- Exciting and climactic story with twists!
- Fun gameplay with a good mix of exploration, battles, puzzles, scenes and more!
- Well mapped areas with beautiful, creepy, mysterious and unique atmospheres.
- Minimap system that displays in your upper left corner which you can turn on/off at almost any point!
- Secrets! Hidden arrows, items, skills, bosses, rooms, side quests and all kinds of goodies! Gives the game a good replay value.
- A challenging difficulty. The game requires thinking, rather than repetitive
button mashing.
- Two endings! A good and a bad one.

Estimated game length: 30-40 hours.

Howdy! I'd like to dedicate this post to all of you who have decided to give CO3 a go. It's been really wonderful to hear from so many of you that you've enjoyed the game so much, even though it's my very first game. Seeing CO3 alive and active today is a great and motivating treat that keeps me going and exited to develop more and more games. Thanks for everything, guys.

Another thing that I would like to mention concerns the latest game I'm working on. It's called "Cold at Heart" and even though it may not look like CO3 and the CO1 Remake for that matter, it's still pretty similar. Like the Castle Oblivion games, Cold at Heart is at its very core a dungeon crawler.

The game is inspired by games like Super Metroid and Resident Evil and features fully custom graphics and a soundtrack (composed by myself). You can check out the game by clicking on the following logo:

Please note that the game is still in production. The demo available is currently in its Alpha stage, so any potential bugs, or errors are most likely going to be fixed for the full release.

Thanks for reading and don't forget to stay tuned for my upcoming projects!

Awesome! I can't wait to hear from you once you've finished it :)

I actually put that note there for hint xD
I really, really like this game, so far. But I really, really hate the room in the Snowlake Ruins with all the snow balls and blue buttons. Not to mention the timer. I can't figure out how to get out of here and I run out of time trying. So, help!
Again. Never mind. I finally got through the maze with literally no time to spare. Onward and, apparently, downward.
Good job, mate and sorry for not responding earlier. Yes, there's more to the dungeon and yet another maze is ahead. Good luck! ;)
Well of course there's a timer! You have 45 minutes to get to end of the maze and defeat the boss. If you fail, you'll get an instand game over and as extra punishment, your save file will be deleted...

... Unfortunately, I'm not merciless like that. No timer! ;)
Hi i need help I can not find the small key in the dark cave to open locked door been walking around for hours wasting time floor level 3

Very funny. Good thing I didn't read this before I completed the floor. ;-)
Hehe... ;)

@eagle1340: I replied to your PM, check it out! :)

Finished! :)
Interesting story, likeable characters, challenging but manageable battles, beautiful mapping and very good music choice imho - I am just a player not a developer, but I know what I like. Ok, I could have lived without the timed puzzles ;)
I had the feeling, that you put a lot of dedication in this game and it shows. Thanks a lot for many enjoyable hours and good luck for your next project! :)

Congratulations on beating the game with the good ending! I'm really glad you enjoyed the game! I did spend a lot of time and effort into making this and I'm glad it shows.

Are you referring to the boulder puzzle in Snowlake Ruins or did you have problem in the F8 trial? I tried to give the player time to clear the puzzle, but also not to give the player too much time.

Thanks for playing my game and for the small review! I can't wait to start working on my next project. Summer break is only two weeks ahead! :)
Well, stumped again. I am in the Gardorn Cave and can see the arrows on the first floor, but darned if I can see now to get to them. Is there a switch or secret passage that I have missed?
You can't access the arrows, they're only meant to display a solution for a puzzle later down in the cave. I suggest you take some kind of note of the arrows order. It might come in handy when you reach the puzzle. Good luck!
About the timed puzzles - first and foremost I meant it generally. I don't like solving riddles, which includes having fast reflexes. I always wish for a skipping option after some futile trys. Nothing against puzzles at all, with this one exception I like them a lot.

Concerning the boulder puzzle, I have skipped it after some attempts needing 5 seconds more and hoping it is not mandatory for the main quest. In the F8 trial, I was on the verge of quitting the whole game, no kidding, but I wanted to know so badly, how the story ends, so I managed the whole thing in the 6th try with literally no second left.
Actually I liked the surprising escape from the castle in the end, even when I was kind of shell-shocked, when I saw the timer ;) nicely done!

One question, how do you know that i got the good ending? Just guessing or did I mentioned something, which let you get that idea? Wouldn't I like the game without the good ending? :)

I really look forward to your next game.
Enjoy your days off :)
I know what you mean, I too don't like timed puzzles/trials too often since they're so stressful!

Man, I never though that people would have that much trouble with the timed puzzles. I'm glad you managed to cut through though and I hope others do as well. About the island escape, if the timer would run out, you get an option to try again, starting from the throne room. If people would get an direct GO if they failed to escape the island, I'm sure they'd hate both me and the game! xD Good job on nailing it on the first try!

You came to the Oblivion Realm, which means that you had the Orb of Oblivion when you fought Gaunt. If you'd fight him without the orb, you would've got the not-so-good ending. ;)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the game. I'll take your notes to heart when I work on my future projects! :)
To be honest, I don't deserve the compliment, because I needed the second try. To be surprised had the nasty effect of started running seconds to late, therefore I find myself two steps away from the boat, when the timer ran out. Fortunately, there was another chance. :)

Thanks for the answer, which means the orb was really the only way to reach one of my favourite places in this game.
By the way, you really have done a good job giving each floor, it's own unique atmosphere.

It was nothing, just a little feedback :)
Scary, wasn't it? ;) I wanted the escape to be as climactic as possible, that's why I included a timer. I got a lot of inspiration from DMC, if you'be ever played that game.

So, you enjoyed the final dungeon, eh? Good thing I made it pretty big ;)

Thanks, I tried to give each floor a different theme, with different goals/quests within them. Basically, I wanted to make them all different from eachother. Do you have a favorite floor? I enjoyed F7 a lot, but I'm also very happy with F4.I just love that Sea Cavern! xD
DMC = Devil May Cry? No, I don't know the game. Actually, I have never played a console game for the simple reason, that I never had a console. But I have played a lot of RPG Maker games from this site and others, both commercial and free games. By the way, in the moment I'm fighting my way through Feral Dreams 2 :)

Favourite floor? Difficult question, because there is no floor, which I don't like. The sea cavern was one of the highlights for me and the floor with the construction site also, but I don't remember the number of that floor right now. Ok, it's after midnight, that fact has to count as an excuse :)
Ah, I see! I grew up with consoles xD
Neat! FD2 is another great game by kelarly. You should try out Passage of the Hollow Moon as well if you haven't, it's damn good.

It's hard to pick favorites, I know ;) The Construction Site is in F8. I liked F8 as well, especially its atmosphere. I don't know why, but atmosphere is such an important subject for me. It kind of the gives a game life.
Heh, it counts, man ;)
