Are you looking for an excuse to replay Homage? In addition to some small gameplay fixes, the newest update includes a New Game Plus mode! Rin can keep his stats and spells and start a new adventure, with a few extra goodies to be found.
Introduction:
Homage is a brand new action-RPG. The game has two strengths: its fast paced and original battle system and its focused story with believable, interesting characters. Homage is designed to be a short, intense experience, instead of an epic 40 hour quest. It features a number of beautiful and original songs, composed by Jasmine Cooper (m4uesviecr) of Dream Orbit Music Corps.
The game is complete.

- A carefully planned, focused plot. A small cast of characters, who are not cliches, but instead have unique and interesting personalities.
- Choices between twenty-three scripted spells. Every spell is unique and useful. Try out intriguing spells such as Fireball, Shockwave, Doom, Summon Slime, Blood Pact, Telekinesis, Mouse Shape, and Jester's Blade. To name only a few.
- Six dungeons, five towns, and many locales that defy classification.
- Ten challenging bosses

Well, that's a depressing start to my thread...
For what it's worth, I can tell you it is not malware... why don't you run a different virus scanner to double check?
Please check back in a couple of days after the proper download has been approved. Which it will be. Because it's not a virus.

I am glad you responded so quickly. You can understand my post though. It might HAVE been a virus and no telling how many people would d/l it. I would have been ashamed if it had been and I not at least warn people here.
Of course I will be glad to do as you suggested since I would like to play the game.
And I am sure when people see what we have said here wont be wondering if it was true.

I understand your position entirely. I guess it's just one of those things. Let me know how another scan goes; whether or not it scans as dangerous a second time will be useful information for me. Even if it was a false positive I'm at a loss as to why it happened.
The action battle system this game has is a refreshing change from the typical menu-based battle systems found in most RM games, and what's more, you won't see all the spells in one playthrough. I played through most of the game without even wanting to escape from a random battle, and from a guy who generally hates random battles that's saying something. Another thing going for it is the variety of puzzles you periodically must solve. Now back to finishing this last dungeon....

I have finished it and I have to say that's a wonderful game. I really liked and enjoyed it. So much that I have created an account in rmn only to say you that.
There are two or three things that could be improved on, like the difficult (I'm sorry but at least with my spell choices I had no problem ever, so I had no use for money because I didn't need to buy armor, potions or anything else).
On the other hand, the battle system is perfect. Dinamic and efficient. "Refreshing", as flowerthief said.
So thank you for doing this game :)

Wow. Fantastic job on this. I went in expecting something and got much more. The story was well crafted and the game never became boring or tedious. I actually cared for some of the characters and there were a few, "oh shit, no way!" moments in there. I hope you have more ideas in the works.

Already stuck...in the forest where you jump streams.
Can't jump the wide water and can't find a canoe or rowboat.
Anyone got a hint ?? :)

There's a conspicuous looking tree there. Perhaps Rin could use it to his advantage?

Got to the 2nd boss. I don't know if you did this on purpose, but you know you can't heal during battle by getting to the menu...

That is intentional. If you are having trouble with the second boss, see if you can make use of your shield spell. Also, notice that the boss tends to take a brief rest after he has cast a spell. Can you use that time to get some damage into him?

I'm pretty close to what should be the end of the game. I'm in tower. Have to grind some more to be able to face ALL the bosses at once...

Alas, I have found it really hard to make the battles the right difficulty. I seem to have equal numbers of people saying the battles are too hard as I have saying the battles are too easy.
If you are that far into the tower, you have just learned a really powerful spell. Make sure you look it up in the menu and learn to use it. I suspect you will find it tremendously useful :).

The problem with ALL the spells is that I have to stop moving to use them (save for whatever auto spell I have equipped). Even stopping for a moment I seem to be overwhelmed with old bosses (save the one that's in the water, it can't move from there).

Something else which you may not have realised is that spells don't need to be cast with any kind of "rhythm". You can cast them as fast as you can input the combos. If you are getting overwhelmed, try keeping a distance from the enemies and quickly casting fireball. I made that spell combination easy to cast quickly.
