The wheels of creation have remained in motion for centuries. Human life has prospered, living out their lives fruitfully, free from His gaze. But now, He has turned His eyes to a sinful being who is about to be reborn...

For any other man, life continued as usual. For a man like Elioth, life took a turn for the insane. Member of the renowned Excavators Guild, he returns home one day to find his future wife unconscious. Stricken by a terrible disease called Blood Haze, he sets off with his brother and a dear friend in search of a cure. But does one even exist? Where does one start on this madman's hunt? The answers are not as they seem, the questions they have remain unanswered.

A war they cannot win, but one they will have to wage. Who will emerge victorious?
The forces of Heaven and Hell are on the move...

-14-18 hours of main storyline, spanning 4 chapters.
-12+ hours of side and post-game content. For those that like to explore, there is enough to do!
-A modified Free-turn battle system, implementing Press-turn features. Freely use up your turns with whichever character you like, but take note of their remaining stamina, for one cannot act without it. Hit weaknesses to gain extra turns, get punished when hitting resistances or when your weakness is hit by the enemy.
-A robust crafting system. Gather raw materials out in the world, or slay that one elusive rare monster for its hide, then turn it into superior armour and weapons.
-Over 500 pieces of armour and weapons, some powerful enough to grant unique special effects.
-Freely customize your characters with a plethora of skills. Gain points after every level up to use on learning new ones. Specialize in single elements, buffing, healing? It's up to you.
-Did I mention we've got SMT skills? Of course I did.

Chapter 1 released!

Yay, it's finally here! After a bunch of setbacks, the game is in a playable state without any major issues...I hope.
This release contains the entire first chapter of the game and should take about 3-4 hours to complete. You'll need WinRAR to extract the archive, though I assume most of you have that nifty program installed already.

The only real concern I have with the game in its current state is how it feels pretty easy, though that may be because I know everything there is to know. Then again, I don't want the game to be as hard as the original Blood Haze, at least not in the first chapter.
I also made some changes AFTER my playtest, hopefully none of them break the game in any way but if you run into anything major, make sure to let me know! I can still re-upload a new demo if needed, but once I start working on Chapter 2 that's going to be a lot harder.

==============================
PATCH 1.01 NOTES
==============================
-Increased player speed by ±15% (Please let me know if this breaks any events in the game)
-Removed a line of redundant dialog, changed some others and added a dialog box for when Marlene gives you some recovery items at the beginning of the game.
-A dialog box will now be triggered whenever a food effect expires.
-Replaced the Excavators Guild theme with the one from the original.
-Replaced the Nirram Mines theme, which is the theme for Gharos Ruins, with one from the original game.
==============================
PATCH 1.10 NOTES
==============================
-Replaced the lighting system with a newer version to get rid of lag. Includes dynamic shadows! *DUE TO THIS CHANGE, OLD SAVE FILES ARE NO LONGER COMPATIBLE*
-Removed Pathfinding script to reduce lag.
-Fixed some word wrap issues here and there.
-Fixed a softlock issue when completing Melanie's Sidequest.
-Fixed a softlock issue in Brynhildr's Realm.
-Fixed a softlock issue early on in the game if the player approaches the bed diagonally.
-Fixed an issue where pressing "No" when asked to proceed to the boss fight in Brynhildr's realm to cause the game to skip the fight and softlock.
-Fixed the issue with Harvest points not respawning properly if the player has any kind of Food Effect.
-Fixed an issue with the Confusion ailment causing the character to act on its own even after it was cured.
-Fixed an issue with a boulder north of Gharos Village.
-Fixed some spots where it was possible to go out-of-bounds or walk on impassable terrain
-Gharos Ruins is now slightly easier.
-Gharos Forest up to the hotel is now slightly harder.
-The fight against Chelsey is now easier.
-Enemies in the Nirram Mines are now slightly more resilient to damage.
-Increased the difficulty of the fight against Emissary.
-Replaced the reward of the Emissary fight from "Physical Booster" to "Fire Booster"
-Decreased the stats on the Messenger craftable item.
-Changed the behaviour of the Confusion ailment. If you are inflicted with it, you can no longer gain Extra turns with that character. For enemies, they can no longer gain the "Surge" state. (In the demo, confusion when used by the player still causes the old effect. Confusion used by the enemy uses the new effect)
-Reduced Escape success rate to 60% (down from 100%). Hard mode disables escaping entirely.
-Added two new "Gameplay Tip" statues to the game. These explain the different stats (ATK/SPI etc.) and Ailment effects.
-Enemies will no longer do a "walk up" animation when attacking with certain physical attacks.

about 400-500 on average.

The total CP cost to be able to actually get the skill would be a lot higher than 30K though, since you would need the tier 3 ma-skills as well before you can learn the respective Null skill, then do that for the four other elements.

Total CP cost is 18.6K to get a tier 3 ma-skill. 9K to get that respective Null skill. 27.6K for one element. 138K for all elements + 30K for the null all skill = 168K total to learn it.

so about 320-ish something battles in the final dungeon to get it, that's the same amount of battles you do across the whole game from start to finish give or take ;p
I'm already well on my way to getting all 6 elements -dyne spells(I have the level below on all of them and 2 of them I have the first -dyne). I'll probably have them all by the end of act 4 depending on how much grinding I do.
I played this game recently but got stuck in the hotel somehow i have to enter a 3 digit code to open something but couldn't find the code.

Does someone remember that code?

It's not mandatory to open that chest, the clue to open it is written down on the piece of paper/diary next to that chest.

The code is 278 in any case.
The furious gladiator's hat says it gives 30sp but it gives none.

Are items that give % values only supposed to scale off of base stats? It seems like that's what they do.
which part of gharos forest leads to castilla's shack? and when will it be available?

Fixed, had the tag as "MaxSP" instead of "MaxMP". The Brutal Gladiator's Hat also had this same problem.

Base stats only.

You get there from Gharos Forest East, to be more specific the very first map you get to in that part of the forest. I posted a picture on page 4 of the comments which should help you out.
found it, thanks... what is chernobog's weakness? i cant beat him though my party is level 12..
He doesn't have any. Most bosses don't have one in fact, though their minions might and certain mechanics might give certain bosses a weakness.

Anyways, for Chernobog I find there are 2 mandatory skills: Null Fire (the barrier) and Rakukaja/Tarunda (or both of these)
I cast Null Fire every turn so I shut down 50% of the spells Cherno can cast, I just heal when necessary and damage him with whoever can get spells off the best (probably Kaleo). Rakukaja and Tarunda can be stacked up to 4 times but 2-3 stacks is enough and will reduce any damage he will do by about 30% or more.

He can also casts buffs/debuffs himself but I placed 2 chests in the dungeon he's in with Dekaja and Dekunda rocks that you can use to get rid of them if he starts casting them too much.

Alternatively, you could always come back a bit later when you get your 4th party member which makes the fight way easier.
thanks a lot daedron, learned a lot from that comment... by the way what is better equip from stores or dropped items? dunno if i want to try equips bought from stores but it takes time to level them up to be able to match with the stat bonuses given by the dropped items...and another thing can i farm essence from those bosses that drop them or i have to choose carefully when using them in crafting??
another thing , is the skill black bind used by enemy bosses supposed to be irremovable?? cause i tried the item that removes ailments it did not work, i tried the skill that targets only one hero it did not work then i tried using the skill that affects all heroes, it still cannot be removed... if it is supposed to be irremovable then your team is fcked when the boss casts it on all heroes...

They are limited so you have to choose carefully. I tend to go for items that have special properties over just raw stats since those get replaced while something with special properties can be useful at any time.

It's not removable, I put in cooldowns for that skill though so there's never a situation where there's more than 1 hero binded since the bosses and enemies that have that skill can't cast it every turn. So long as you have 2 people to be able to heal it's not too much of a threat.
I finally beat this game, it was really good. A lot of grinding which kinda tick me off at some points. Overall, the story was good! It's a really spooky game. The ending could've been better but I can't wait for blood haze 2 . You should make the bosses easier, they're extremely hard to beat! My favorite part of the game is when the demons killed Catherine because it gave me the goosebumps and it was really sad.

Good job! it's a fun game!
@zach where can i find asmodeous? is it at the haunted mansion??

Yes, Mansion of Despair. You'll have to complete it eventually and beat Asmodeus for story reasons so you can't miss it. You can do it as early as chapter 3 but he can be a bit on the hard side at that point.

Glad you enjoyed it! I myself don't need to stop and grind in the game anymore cause I know exactly what to bring into each boss battle and of course know what to do, it might be different for you but I'm always here to help out of course ;p

I actually didn't intend to do a sequel but eventually decided to do it anyways, though I'll start working on it after my next project which has nothing to do with this game.
Still a long ways off but it'll help me get better at writing in the mean time at the very least.
been trying to find asmodeus in the haunted mansion but after finding the father's ring and daughter's earring i think i fell into the basement but i cant find him i entered every room yet he is not there... im actually lvl 64 due to heavy grinding at arena lol... or does killing bosco before finishing my visit to th haunted mansion affect the quest?
Nope, it doesn't affect anything. What you do is you go into the Alternate version (grey hue) and then go to the 2nd floor, and fall through the hole in the floor on your left side. Ff it isn't there you have to go to the normal version of the 2nd floor and stand on the cracked tile so it appears in the alternate version.
In any case when you fall through that hole you'll appear in the alternate version of the basement and there's a door at the very end that leads to a room where you can insert the two items in the left and right plaques and then use the middle one to go back to the normal version of the room. If you inserted the items a passage should open where the boss is.
This is excellent spooky game
but i'm stuck @ chapther 4
where's mansion of despair??
I go to mansion that have alternate version(grey)
but I'm stuck (is it because i'd already go there before in chapter 4 before beat marlin @ cathedral)
Yes, that is the Mansion of Despair. I wrote a guide a few pages back (page 3 to be exact) so I'll copy and paste it here. You can do it in either chapter 3 or 4 so it doesn't matter when you do it.

Anyways, the guide starts after you get the "Clock Hand" if you don't have this item yet it's behind a grate in the B1, you'll need the fishing pole to reach the clock hand.

"When you enter the mansion, you can go into a door on the left and a door on the right. The clock is located in the room on the left, the room with the wall blocking your path. You insert the clock hand into that clock to make it tick again.

After you do that, the wall in the alternate version will be gone. So you fall down the hole again into the basement, go up the stairs all the way to the stone and then make your way back to the entrance hall and into the same room. Behind this wall is another stone you can touch and a Castilla Fragment if you activated the quest.

Touch the stone and it will take you back to the normal version behind the wall, where a key is located. Touch the stone again to go back to the alternate version and leave the room, then use the key to open the door in the middle of the map which leads to the 2nd floor.

The 2nd floor only has one room you can go into, which has a stone you can touch which takes you back to the normal version. This room has an item on the floor, take it. Leave the room via the door.
On this floor, there are a few things to do. There are 2 rooms, one has a treasure chest and one has a key item you need to get. However, there's also a tile on this floor which makes you fall all the way to B1. You might find it while just walking around going to the different rooms or you might not. It's located near the room on the bottom left that leads to the room with the 2nd key item.

Falling through this hole makes a hole appear in the alternate version of the 2nd floor, which allows you to use it to go to the alternate version of B1.
There's only one room you can go into in this area, and it leads into a room with 3 different plaques. The one on the left and right can be used to insert the two items you found. The middle takes you to the normal version of this room.
You have to insert the items to get rid of the wall blocking your path in the normal version of this room, so make sure to do that first before using the plaque in the middle.

There's a save point in this room, you can leave the room but you will have to retrace your steps if you want to get back. The other thing in this room is a boss, whose level is 43. Null Physical skill is almost mandatory if you're underlevelled."

This should help you out ;)
OOoo yes I forgot I got an item from this mansion when i go to this mansion in chapter 3...Thank :D
