Update

Firstly, I sincerely apologize for the silence.
Secondly, the game is not dead, far from it.

The more I've worked on Profundum the more I've come to realize how much I love the damn thing, by which I mean to say I do not at this time feel good enough to fully realize it by myself.

Again, the game is not dead (and may the day I abandon it give the children of hell a white Christmas.)
I plan to make myself available as an artist to other projects for now, and come back with experience under my belt and a teammate or two.
So with that, the game is officially on hiatus.

To everyone that showed an interest in the game or sent me an encouraging PM, I cannot thank you enough for enabling my childish aspirations. The below is a crude sample of the latest style update as a peace offering, as well as a plea to not give up on Profundum.

Thank you-

Progress Report

Progression! It is sweet.

Alright, progress report:

I have the general design of all the rooms, they just need some ambiance.
One more sprite to go.
The faceset's are mostly done, I just need to touch up a few.
I still need to fix all the bugs with the puzzles, which is gonna be tricky.

So! I'm working on endings, different endings. Also, I'm working on making it so that you can play the game almost completely differently several different ways, depending on random and user-initiated factors.

As a side note, I'm building an art gallery of game-related sketches and paintings in my spare time. A link to the art, or individual pieces will be rewards in the game.
Or something along the lines of this, still working out details.

In conclusion:
Not dead yet. The game's skeleton is pretty much done, it just needs some pretty skin.

Finally

I've been rushing to get Profundum developed enough to post.
I'm very happy, though my drawing hand doth ache with the pain of a thousand facesets...

Anyway, next on the agenda is learning how to make a custom scene menu. Then adding borders onto the facesets, then making a decent window skin, spriting the monsters, customizing the tilesets, more maps, etc.

The road to accomplishment seems now so very tedious...
