Jude - Filter Circuits
In this level, there are colored pillars connected to one or more ummm colored orbs. The object is to activate the right colored orbs to mix colors and match them to create the color on the pillar. For example a green pillar requires using a blue and yellow orb. The orb connections intersect, so you have to sort of filter them to have the right colors reach the right pillars. It's a pretty neat idea, but there were only 5 puzzles, so it would have been nice if there were a few more.

kentona - Settlers of Kentan
At first I actually thought this was going to be an actual Settlers of Catan game, so I picked heavily on wood and brick at the beginning, thinking to build roads, without reading the instructions. I still managed to win in the end. Turns out this is more of an economy sim, but the dice roll mechanics and building requirements are still similar to the board game. There's also an added twist of having some coins, and being able to assign various Leaders to each settlement for extra bonuses. You also have to be wary of impending barbarian attacks, which can wipe out one of your cities, so you might want to invest in your Army. It was nice challenge to think about how to best invest your resources to produce what you need, whether it be building new settlements, upgrading to cities, or assigning leaders. This was a really fun and well designed level, that does a great job of emulating the original board game and adopting it for a single player level.

GreatRedSpirit - A Thing Happened
There are 6 gates in a row, blocking your path, and there are 8 switches that flip some of the gates on or off. It's mostly just trial and error, but you could write down what each switch does, just to help yourself a little.

Avee - Deadly Invaders
You walk through about 4 or 5 levels of horizontal halls, while trying to avoid aliens that are moving in set patterns. Most of them are easy, but there are a few where you have to keep moving and can't see the exact enemy pattern ahead of time. This is a short level that requires a few quick reflexes to get past the enemies.

Rachael - Mirror Cavern
You have a mirror version of yourself on the top half of the screen, and you have to maneuver both to step on buttons that open doors for each other. It's a short level that's fairly easy, except for maybe the last button which might take a few tries to figure out.

thatbennyguy - Keying In
You must pass through a series of small rooms with spike traps that alternate between up and down, whenever you take a step. You plan your steps accordingly to avoid getting hit, while also collecting a few items to help you unlock doors or get past obstacles. It's a decent puzzle, and not too hard, but you just have to be careful to not make mistakes by accident, and save.

Liberty - Ancestry
You walk around looking for switches to flip and buttons to press. You soon realize that the goal is to hit the 4 colored buttons, while the switches open or close a path, though you can't always see it right away. This is a pretty short and simple level with not too much to do.

Bobhostern - Avoision
A demon chases you around and you have to avoid him for 1 minute. Just stand on the southern platform on the other side of the pit, and then go check your phone or take a washroom break.

Gibmaker - Tile by Error
You have to walk on some narrow pathways from a starting point to a goal. The twist is that you can only move a certain number of steps at a time, and it alternates in a pattern like 1-2-3 and it goes up to 5 near the end. If you try to move a certain direction, and the steps you must take will lead you into a wall/pit, then you won't be allowed to move that way. This is a pretty well designed puzzle, and there are about maybe 10 levels. It's not that hard since there's only so many places you can walk, so you're bound to get it eventually.

Marrend - Drawcab Monks
If you go south initially, the game crashes. Anyways, to pass the level, you have guess the correct word, and you can get clues by reading the signs on the wall around the room. Once you figure out what the clue is telling you, you'll want to write it down. Turns out if you're good with word patterns, you might have been able to guess the word just from talking to the monks at the start. It was a decent puzzle.

Caz - Chappy and the Intercom
There are 3 puzzles here, and in each one, the goal is to push snowballs into a center 3x3 grid. You push the snowballs from outside a bigger square, and the snowballs only slide forward so you can't let them slide off the playing field. The challenge in each puzzle is to figure out the correct order and direction to push the snowballs, so that they all make it into the 3x3 grid. These were fairly well designed puzzles that requires some thinking and planning. I only wish there were more than just 3 of them.

Hexatona - FLASHDUEL
This is a custom turn based duel, where you are a dealt a "hand" of numbers from 1 to 4, and you use them each turn to move or attack a certain number of spaces. This is a cool idea, but also a bit random. You can't see your opponent's "hand", so you never know if you're about to waste all your cards on an attack, and he simply blocks it, and then you're screwed. It's also kind of annoying when the crowd flavor text happens in the middle of actions. Also, the game froze when I tried to move backwards.

Conclusion
Overall, this was a decent entry in the puzzle series. Most of the puzzles were really short and simple this time around. There weren't really many that felt really high quality, like in some of the previous games, but there also weren't anything that was overly frustrating. I think this would be a good entry for casual puzzle players to pick up and try. I do have to give some extra credit for the nice intro crawl and ending credits sequence.

I look forward to playing the next installment in the series, Befuddle Quest 7... wait... WHAT?? It's been over 5 years since this game and BQ7 STILL HASN'T COME OUT YET?????

In all seriousness, kentona, would you ever be comfortable letting someone else compile BF7 from the puzzles that are currently there? Perhaps even the puzzles from that other event, too?

Which other event?
