Nutshells: ST/SR/SP

I still can't believe that Cruna got Spotlighted... So happy... :D
... Duh, anyway, continue with another nutshell! This time, I'm giving ST/SR/SP the spotlight. ST/SR/SP does more than skill ammo. Mismanage and things will go haywire.

Watch those Stamina drops!

They are called separately, respectively Stamina, Strength, and Spirit, since they are different energies. This is related more to the game's setting, so discussion about each energy story-wise will be done later.

In battle, they are distinct types. The main difference is how they are treated by effects like straight ST/SR/SP damage (not from guarding, tell you) and recovery. Stamina recovery items only react to Stamina-type fighters (Lyka and Chloe, for example). Spirit recovery items only react to Spirit-type fighters (Bad Fairies are first examples). Using Spirit recovery to a Stamina-type will give no effect, and vice versa. But Strength is a special case, as it is count as both Stamina and Spirit. No specialization for Strength; just for Stamina and Spirit. Sounds like Strength-types get more benefits, but think again. Strength-types are prone to both Stamina and Spirit damaging attacks too. Well, other than that... No difference.

So she won't need to eat? Convenient!

The main thing why mismanaging will bring things to haywire is because ST/SR/SP affects defense, both physical and spiritual! Slight decrease from Max ST/SR/SP won't do anything. But too far and you'll notice more damage was dealt. In case of 0 ST/SR/SP, overall defense is dropped to 50%. This sings trouble for tanks. Although... Glass cannons can just shoot with carefree abandon, yes.

Things hurt more as you get hungry.

Special to playable characters (they can level up, don't they?), their Max ST/SR/SP is constant. They won't increase by level up. The only way to increase them... There are 2 ways possible: Properties from weapons and accessories, and for some characters, can be gained from accessing a route from Style Route. Style Route will be discussed later.

True, stamina and spirit recovery items are easy to come by and common through stores, not to mention pretty cheap since they are daily goods. In combat, however, they prove inconvenient, at least not in the current demo. Item use costs 5 AP, and with that cost only recovers pretty slightly! There's another way to recover ST/SR/SP more conveniently than waiting and items in battle, but it will be discussed later. Very later. Well, keep your energy fit!

Doesn't using items cost only 2 AP? Also, doesn't ST/SR/SP recover slightly (5) after each turn taken? Regarding this last observation, I couldn't figure out exactly what actions you had to select for each party member so that it could happen, since sometimes it didn't.
I did mention that it doesn't apply yet in the current demo. Or did my wording wrong? If I did, sorry for the confusion :(

The current demo items still cost merely 2 AP. But future releases will cost 5 AP or more. Waiting means by end of cycle (turn), but ST/SR/SP recovers too slightly by that way.

Oh, I see. By waiting, you mean not using all the AP during a turn, right?
No, it will recover regardless by the end of turn, except fallen unconscious. Or have I made it won't recover while KO?

I don't think I continued playing once Lyka was killed against the bosses since I knew it would be impossible to defeat them just using Ashen.
