Lost? Alone? Try maps!

That's right I finally finished the maps that all none of you were clambering for! They will certainly aid anyone who is lost within yon cavern however they don't spoil everything for you by design so be prepared to take a few notes of your own.

Hope some adventurer finds these useful!

New Demo version uploaded!

I have an anouncement:

I AM A COMPLETE IDIOT NEWB

Apparently somewhere during development I broke the intro and good ol Mo the Great was never added to the party. That is fixed and the new demo is up so enjoy the new version now with game play!

Announcement

Be weary of demo...

Yon demo hath been released! Headeth to thine download tab or red further:

The demo consists of a '3D' remake of the original Cavern of Doom. Since all endings are valid from the original this is where you're storyline would start in the full game if you had not heard of or played the first game. Sadly I have not gotten the maps out yet as a small graphical glitch has postponed that. I will try to get maps up for those who get stuck within the week. Otherwise grabeth thine pencil and thine graph paper!

All of the four difficulty levels are present as are all three of the endings. The dungeon layout is nearly identical to the original so if you get stuck check out the COD 1 strategy guide right away.

Included with this remake are 4 brand new challenge dungeons that can only be completed on the hardest difficulty. These dungeons will test anyone's mind and mettle and are very difficult but not impossible. Completing all four dungeons will grant you new endings as well.

All graphics, characters, sound and music are all custom made and any resemblance toward real objects or people is purely silly.

Enjoy,
Bob The Bobish

Progress Report

Testing nearing the end

That's right bugs have been squashed, graphics 'improved' and detestable words hurled at computers in anger. Since testing for the demo is drawing to an end all that is left is to make a set of hint maps for those with a weaker constitution...

As long as there are no more delays yon demo shall be out this weekend along with magical map goodness. The demo takes me roughly 10 hours to completely play through on the hardest difficulty and pursuing the most difficult ending to achieve so there is no shortage of cavern to go around...

Announcement

Be ye brave enough to playtest?

Down to finishing out the final optional dungeon, a few pieces of music, the stray sound effect here and there and the credits. Is anyone brave enough to playtest a beta version of the demo? If so do let me know and I'll give access to the demo. Be warned I need people to playtest the optional dungeons most of all and they are sanity loss levels of difficult.

Progress Report

Yegads there be music afoot!

So if it weren't for the fact that I'll writing the OST for this game as well as designing it I'd be able to promise a demo within at least 2 months. That said I'll still be working as fast as I can between various real and less than real life moments of course.

The demo will feature the most lame portion of the story which is a re-making of the original game (in 3d) for those who do not know the plot and are unable to recall other elements of the original well enough to get a different path. The entirety of the first game will be there to catch up on ye olde plot with multiple difficulties and endings intact.

If enough people want to know how best to implement a pseudo 3d dungeon crawl (in rm2k3 of course) like this then mayhaps I could be persuaded to write a tutorial...
