After successfully aquiring the Ring of Ares in Chapter 1, James and Abby continue their journey to find the next artifact of Ares. Little did they know that their second journey would bring them to an island that has long been forgotten and the chance of helping a little girl and eventually find the Helm of Fate, the helmet of Ares, second artifact that belongs to Ares, the god of war.

This is my first RPG game after the tutorial "The Ring of Udrai" which I modified into "The Ring of Ares". I've also made a trailer for this game. It can be watched from here.

Hi, can give details on when it crashed? Any error message? As for antidote, what was the status? Poison?

Sorry, I had a few people tested the game but haven't gotten any crash reports before. Please let me know so that I will try to rectify.
I am running winxp and crash alot do not know why and it is when battles start.



And yes it is for poison that antidote not working.

I have been able to beat the game.
OK. Will check for you but looks like maybe a fullscreen problem on XP? So far the Windows 7 has been ok both fullscreen or non-fullscreen. Will try on an XP to see how to solve it. Looks like not 100% all the time but sometimes during battle right?
Yes when it crash it is always at the start of battles.

Another possible bug Gloria at The Lost Forest asked me to bring back 15 Spider Carcuses which I have done and all she keeps telling me is to come back when i'm ready

Found bug. Programming said More than 15 instead of 15. So it won't let you past until more than 15. Will correct that. For XP users, sorry about that. Will try to rectify.
By the way, for XP crash cases, is there a specific monster that crash more often or it's just random monsters.
Yes I had guessed that as i went back and killed another Spider and it let me continue
Hello XP users. I'm currently having difficulty trying to figure out what's the problem with the game on XP. For the mean time, can try to play without full screen? Does it help?
A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who downloaded and played my game. I started making RPG games last December and I'm very encouraged that other than my son, others are also playing this game. It really is a motivator for me to continue my next game which I was about to give up making. For the XP users, sorry I could not figure out the problem. I suspect the problem could be due to script or graphics but can't seem to rectify it. If anyone knows a potential solution, feel free to send me a comment.

Hello! First of all, the intro and the pictures in the middle of dialogue is very well made! Mapping is pretty for RTP.

So rarely in beginning of battles I'm having crash, I'm using Win 7. Are you using two battle scripts? If so, maybe it'll cause the problem.
No, I'm only using one battle script. I'm also wondering why it happened. As I dig through google, there is not certain answer to why this happens. The only funny solution is to activate proxy settings for the internet settings. Once that's activated, the crash doesn't happen. Maybe it's something to do with the fact that I do this both from home and in the office and the internet settings is different? I'm baffle as well...

Edit: Finished playing through and here's what I thought

I'd like to say the title screen graphic is just beautifully done. Your map designs are pleasing to look at and I love the cutscenes with the sliding background pictures. Storyline was short and easy to follow. Didn't get too wordy or anything like some games do. I appreciate that ;)

Just a couple of polishing up issues:

1. Some of the edges of the balloon are set to below the character instead of above.

2. Pink flower mob near the hedge (in the forest for the uncharted region) doesn't disappear when defeated like the rest of the mobs do.

3. If you go up the stairs in on the left side of the castle, you can't go back down. Same if you go up to the roof, you can get back to the 2nd floor.

4. When Gloria is joining the party. Gloria talks about wanting to cross the forest. There is a typo: belive should be believe.

5. All the axes give hp regen, not sure if that was intended or it was meant to be bleeds.

A couple of nit picker things that don't really matter at all.. It seems that James get the majority of the treasure chest gear, followed by Gloria and poor Abby hardly gets any until the 2nd floor of the castle. The other thing is the mobs seem a bit poison happy. When you enter the forest for the first time, I went to the tent as the path was blocked off. Gloria popped out and told me I wasn't ready to enter yet. I spent a while trying to figure out how I wasn't ready before realizing I had to walk up to the barricade to trigger the story line progression. It might be a good idea to let talking to Gloria at the tent or approaching the barricade trip the event that progresses the story line. Same for the hedge in the forest. Let the player walk through the bush at either square in front of it instead of just the left side. Again, nothing game breaking.. just my 2 cents ;)

Thanks for taking time to give the feedback. I really appreciate it. The Helm of Fate was my first official game here. I will take all the comments you made and put them in when I have the time. Also, I assume my RPGMaker skills should have improved along the way since I'm now into my 5th game. You just gave me an idea. I will upgrade Helm of Fate when I'm done with my 5th game.
