Legend of Alkior: The Impending Storm

Tension between two kingdoms rises as the seal on the renegade archmage, Xargath, inevitably fades and must be promptly restored...

Discover Your Talents!

Legend of Alkior has a unique system for growth and character customization. Allies level up traditionally with EXP, but instead of just learning a spell/skill once a particular level is reached, that skill is "discovered". You are then able to spend Focus Points (FP), which can be reallocated at almost any time, on any of these discovered skills. Only then can you use those skills during and outside of combat.

The FP you have to spend is determined by the character's current level as well as how many skills that character has discovered. While discovering new skills will drastically increase your available FP, even if you don't discover a new skill when you level up, you might be able to re-spend your gradually growing FP to learn additional skills!

Focus On Victory!

Early on, you will receive an ancient treasure that helps those who possess it hone their power...

This treasure, useful for preparing your team for a fight, will be used for FP allocation, but it will also be available in battle. While activated in battle, you will sacrifice a sizeable chunk of your life energy (HP) to enter a “Focused” state for some time.

While Focused, a fighter will be able to utilize all of his discovered but unlearned skills at the cost of being able to use his previously learned skills! In addition, whenever a skill is used while Focused, half of its skill cost (SP) will be gained back after use! To offset the hefty HP cost of becoming Focused, fighters in this state will also receive a small amount of HP regeneration each turn until they are no longer in a Focused state.

Explore With Power!

Nearly ALL of your skills will be available outside of combat as well to interact with your environment. These abilities’ effects range from engaging touch encounters with an advantage (e.g. engaging from behind will initiate a preemptive strike) to navigating dungeons and solving puzzles.

Thoughtful exploration will surely be rewarded in a meaningful way! However, only currently learned skills will be of use during exploration, so skills may need to be adjusted accordingly just as you might prepare them for combat!

Subbed - looking forward to seeing more.
Thanks, I appreciate it! I want to get v0.2 up within a week, but I might hold off a tad longer so that I can get the overall story a bit more down pat.
I'm actually going to hold off on a first download. However, if anybody would like to come onboard as a playtester, I will upload what I have so far for playtesters only.
Fun so far. In the first town any buiding you enter besides the one next to Ishio, leads to the inn.
Are we not supposed to be able to manipulate the rocks completely in the Secret Slime Cache until later in the game??

Thanks for the positive feedback! I just haven't put in the rest of the town interior yet. But thanks for the reminder.

You can get all the way through the rocks, but you can only push each one once per map visit. That's how I designed it. However, I'm not sure where that puzzle will go exactly in future versions or if the "Secret Slime Cache" will exist at all =/

Hope that helps!
