A stalwart hero.
A fantastical world.
An epic destiny.
A sample game.

...Wait. A sample game?

Yes! In this initial showing of Dusty Tome's game house, you play your everyday, average RPG hero; a young man with an epic destiny and nothing better to do with a sunny evening. You can experience this hero's tale as told by three snarky narrators who guide you through the ins and outs of playing an RPG, all the while moving to confront a great and prophesied evil that threatens to sit there and wait until you get around to it!

Yea RPG boasts nearly an hour of gameplay, easter eggs, stuffed teddy bears, RPG references, and a goth girl. Don't wait! Adventure calls!

(The game without the RPG is also available in the download section)

Playing a Tutorial...

Greetings, RMNers!

What is YEA RPG all about, you ask? Well, allow me to elaborate. First off, we wanted to create a sort of tutorial we could include as an opening act to our games. Most RPG Maker games are pretty intuitive, especially to anyone who's ever played an RPG before. That said, there are a few out there that might not have had the pleasure of playing RPG Maker-style games. This is a way to get them up to speed without having to slow down everyone else who just wants to jump into a game and drive off.

With that in mind, we wanted to make it interesting and fun. We wanted to make it so that even veterans would enjoy this quick adventure. Enter your narrators: Margoe, Raven, and Sasha and the perspective they bring to this Everyday Average game.

You get as much as you want to put in to it. You can literally go from start to finish in a matter of minutes, but that's not the point of the game. No, it's all the extra bits of humor and dialogue sprinkled throughout the game. If you're wondering how to play the game, it's this: EXPLORE! Try Everything! We did our best to put a lot interactivity in the game, so give it a try and see if something happens!

Anyway, we hope you enjoy the game and please let us know what you think!

I see you took a map from someone elses game. *Tisk tisk*
Nevermind!!!! I'm sorry! I thought it was someone elses. :/
That's fine, we understand the confusion. There are some stock maps in RPG Maker that we took and modified. Seeing as the game was parodying common conventions in RPG games, we figured having familiar stock maps drove the point across.
First got bored after too much talk so my advice "less talk"
Other advice would be the game itself is around 12 mb the rest is rtp and lets admit it is kinda useless include the rtp if almost everyone have the rtp because almost everything in the game is by default
Dont take it personal i love rpg maker games but is a waste of hdd space putting al the rtp in the game if you are using all the default resources and i have said this to a lot of people you should say something like "download the rtp if you dont have it installed you can download it in the page http://+++++++++" or something similar i know you are learning this is why im giving you advice
good luck with your project
What happens if you die a third time? (the level 99 thing)
Hey, sorry for the late response:

@Tabris666: Thanks for the advice! As far as the talking, it's a little heavy because it was meant to be a sort of tutorial for newcomers to RPG Maker games (and RPGs in general). While a seasoned veteran would find it dry, perhaps a bit boring, we hoped our humor spiced things up a bit for you. As far as the RTP, we were thinking that people who downloaded the game wouldn't have the RTP, but we think you're right, especially here on RMN. We'll try to upload a RTP free version when we can. Thanks again!

@Icepie22: Yes, we did program in something if you manage to die a third time. You'd have to try really hard to do so. We don't want to spoil it for others if they want to figure it out on their own, but here's a little hint: Hurty Water is your friend. :) Thanks for playing!
Now that was fun! Review will be up soon.
Thanks, all, for the feedback! As pointed out, we have made the game available without the RTP in the download section.

Thanks, and Enjoy!
Basic tutorial on how most typical RPG's are like. Two of the 3 teachers are foils of each other. I'd think it'd be more interesting if the narrators were actually the adventurers instead.
