]Kampong -The Shadow of the Truth is a short horror action game made for the Cook Off Competition based on many horror games I've played, it has a deep secret and dark ambient.
General Information:
The game is about half an hour long or more, it depends if the player doesn't die so easily and wants to explore all the game as to offer. The only way to survive is escaping.
Gameplay
The gameplay is all about escape, don't try to find weapons because every enemy can end your game with one touch.
It's kinda difficult but I think everyone can handle it. I'll be making a remake
of this game, this is just a limited version for the Cook Off Competition.
Story:
The game as a very sad and dark story and begins in modern time. You start the game
as a boy named Matt, he got lost in the woods and happens to find a village that reminds him of a story his grandmother always told him.
So he goes to the village trying to find help and ends up unfolding a very old secret of the village.

I did this for the Cook Off Competition but if you use it in youtube you now can just agree
that you're using a video with copyrighted music and they let you use it, as long as you agree.
I have videos in my channel with copyrighted music and I agreed wih them, so they let me use it, as long as I don't use the game for commercial use.

Heh, Not bad. This is like Silent Hill but watered down to it's lowest possible expression. You probably had technical and time constrains to make any more of it than that, but if you're willing to work more on this then it could become a fun little game in the future.
Besides improving on the story and the atmosphere of the game, you need some sort of mechanic that makes playing it something more engaging than just: "run to the closest door". Give each ghost their own 'personality' and behavior. Think of clever ways to evade them or defeat them. Oh, and get rid of the one-touch-game-over thing. It doesn't make the game difficult or scary, it's just annoying.

It's just like you said, I made this in 3 days for the Cook Off Competition and it really was hard with all the limitations.
I am going to make a remake of the game, with new tilesets and scripts to help build more atmosphere to the game.
I liked that you said what I needed to hear, so when I make the remake version, I will use some of the things you said. It will have a health bar :p

I'm currently playing this and I can't seem to make it out of the Library Guard's home after retrieving the key to the library (it's still pretty early in the game) without getting caught by the ghost :$
Is there some way you can run? Or am I forgetting to do something? Please help~! Otherwise, it's impossible for me to pass and I love everything about this game so far :(

Oh, I see, you can run with the SHIFT key on your keyboard :p
That's great man, I'm glad you like it :D, to play the game you just need the ENTER key to talk and interact with everything, SHIFT key to run the hell from the ghosts and the arrow keys to move.
Anything else you need help with, just ask ;)

.......I am really not good with the super atmospheric horror games where you can't do anything except run for your life. ;_; Especially not with THAT sound effect...

Hope you finish the game I don't think it is THAT scary but it can make you jump, a lot :p

I just played it, and I liked it, creepy but not too scary, if you ask me. The atmosphere was good, but it could use some better graphics and maybe a parallax mapping instead of a classic one. I liked the ghost and run for your life thing, but it's pretty predictable, like, it would be more scary if you're walking down the street doing nothing and THEN it appears, I hope I explained myself xD Also, there are some grammar mistakes, and maybe you want to know about a bug in the health centre, where you didn't put the wall between the upper beds, and you end up walking on the roof XD

Thank you, this was made in two weeks, right now I'm actually working a lot, so I'm working on a game yet, but I have a plan for one and believe me, its more polished and scarier than this one ;)
You want me to recommend one horror game made with RPG Maker or any free good horro game ?

Well I was going to make a more complete and longer version of the game, maybe I'll still do it but not now. It was just like I said, the game was made in a rush and I'm portuguese so some grammar mistakes are normal hehe.
