Summary

The heroes of Light and Darkness are appearing, one after one, at the curious city of Dream Coneria, their memories erased. Beside the city walls there is only empty space, the civillians behaving strangely. What is this place they have stumbled upon? What has happened to this world?

Why 5 episodes? Because instead of releasing demos I'll release small "episodes".

Development
Initially this started as a challenge to myself: I would edit the battle formulas so that they become actually interesting, and take an item craft script bending it to create something unique. However this project grew in size and ambitiousness, now being this. However even though in the summary the story is rather grandiosé, I'll likely cut down 90% of the content and make this become a mini, VXALite-ish game. Or not, who knows. Thing is: The purpose of this game for me is training. And realizing my fanboy fetishes So don't expect deadlines nor anything like that.

System
Front view, Active Time Battle. However with Max. wait, so in truth it plays like a fast-paced CTB. Characters gain stats & Magic through leveling (with small bonus points for free aplication every Lv. Up). Skills & Techniques are learnt through equipment.

Stats are divided in this fashion (capping at 255)
Strength - Influences Physical Damage output
Str% - Damage multiplier. 100 Str% would mean twice the normal damage.
Def% - Defense multiplier. 100 Def% would mean immunity to physical attacks.
Magic - Influences Magical Damage output
*Mag% - Damage multiplier. 100 Mag% would mean twice the normal damage.
Mdef% - Defense multiplier. 100 Mdef% would mean immunity to magical attacks.
*Spi - Influences Healing input/output.
Agility - ATB bar multiplier. Influences how fast it fills.
Accuracy - Hit rate. (not yet planned / using default.)
*Evasion - Evasion rate. (not yet planned / using default.)
*Luck - Influences Critical Hits, Steal ratio and items found in the field.

As you see there is no regular Defense nor Magic Defense stat. Def% & Mdef% cap at 100*, while Str% & Mag% cap at 999. All percentage based stats are bound to weapons and weapons alone.

Features
Relatively complex item-crafting system inspired by the systems of Final Fantasy 8 and 10. Unlock skill levels in refinement and create new items!
Refine is divided in--
Med-RF
Creates medicines from items & other medicines. (Think Med-RF & Med-LV+ together.
ST-RF
Creates negative status-inducing items.
Supt-RF
Creates positive status-inducing items & support items in general.
NeuATK-RF & ElemATK-RF
Creates bombs & elemental magic items, respectively.
Weap-RF
Creates weapons.
Prtec-RF
Creates Protectors.
Accsry-RS
Creates acessories.
Tool-RF
Creates Refine-exclusive tools.

Tell me Ashley Riot from Vagrant Story is going to be in this, and I will probably subscribe to this. Though, Rue and/or Mint from Threads of Fate (I think it might also be called Dewprisim in some places?) would certainly raise an eyebrow.
I'm not a huge fan of the font's orange color on a white background. It's starting to bother me~

I think I have to agree with Chris on that.
I still have to play VS and TF! Two games I'm wanting to play since ever (For Yoshida's art in Vagrant Story and for Masashi Hamauzu's music in Threads of Fate.) I'll likely add them in too, if I like them (of course.). VS because I want to add all the Ivalice Alliance main characters, and Threads of Fate because it simply looks cool. 8'D
And I'll imitate Nomura's FFX and Dissidia style a bit, so they're gonna be very consistent *u*

Also, in regards to the fonts, I'm sorry, I'm still learning how to CSS, the whole page's CSS looks really ugly. >___< I need to change. >:

Hm, likely so. Right now the only antagonist I think I wanna make playable though is Kefka. Maybe Lezard Valeth from Valkyrie Profile. >_>
But Sephiroth is an interesting idea, if not a bit cliché 8'D

CSS? what's that? (Newb Alert) Also while cliche some people like myself might prefer running around wtih Seph Jecht and maybe other villains (Genesis anybody?) as opposed to their heroic counterparts. also Kefka is the CRAZIEST. Ever.

Yah, I know, but I'm doing this more for fun & training than for anything else so I can't promise any characters, or I'll go overboard. xD
Episode 1 will feature only Yuna, for example. Not to mention that I don't want to focus only on the Final Fantasy series. xD

I have never played a Dissidia game, but from what I've seen on YouTube, you could at least go with a sideview battle system. I think there are sideview scripts for RMXP which would allow you to make some varying abilities for characters and help make a noticeably a more dynamic battle.
The script i'm using is dynamic enough! It actually zooms in and out in a pretty intense fashion, far more than a sideview battle system. Not to mention that skills have multiple hits and stuff, and it would be a paaaain to animate it all on a sideview battle system (wich means that i'd never have anything done) AND it plays really fast and active the way it is! Trust me, you'll see :D

BTW it's this game is called Dissidia the RPG , so :D
Maybe show me a video to convince me about it being dynamic.
I'll post a demo pretty soon. I'll search for a video of it though.
Anyways no matter what I won't change the battle system. xD

With ATB set to full wait. So it's basically a fast-paced CTB. xD
Except I'm obviously not using the RTP skillset nor anything like that, and I altered a bit the script so that combos work slightly different (they're harder to make but have a higher, albeit random multiplier), it'll be fun :3
Items like Fire Gem work exactly like they do in FFX (I think the attack items in this installment were the best), so 6x of fire damage to random enemies, etc.
Fix your god damn CSS dude, I don't want to have to highlight the text to read it.
