Game Title: Seer Dell - Dragon
Engine: RPG Maker VX Ace Lite
Status at review: Complete

Background
Close to a year ago, there was an event on RMN never seen before unless you count this: the RPG Maker VX Ace lite Cook-off. The purpose behind this event was to have the RPG Maker.net community make true, original creations using the RPG Maker VX Ace Lite engine.
If memory serves me right, this game was made by a judge of said event, so it could only get the participation badge. My memory does not serve in how long the participants had, but this game was pulled off in a mere 24 hours. Which is a feat onto itself.

I know I already pulled a similar "joke" for another Cook-off contest review, but it still seemed appropriate.

Graphics:
Either my eyes were playing tricks on me, or the ice-stalagmites appeared somewhat transparent when they were in the periphery of the lighting's field of vision.
Aside from that, the game is put together nicely. Remind me how long it took to make this again? 24 hours? Geeze, how do you people do this?

Audio:
Nothing is really jumping out at me with this. Sorry.

Story:
When we first meet Dell, she, with her guardian Lise, are on their way to visit the statue of the Dragon King Bahamut Olmass. However, when they get there, something isn't quite right with Dell the statue! What ensues is among the zaniest experiences I've ever played.

Playing the game:
While I try to be as generic as possible, there could be some spoilers in here.

You're just drop me into a dungeon, there, game? No explanation? Wasn't expecting that!
I see that the map has a route set for me. So, if I diverge from that route...
It's kinda weird that the map doesn't stay active until you press a button. Eh, it's probably minor.
So, the game is going to force me into a path, eh? Oh well.
Dell has a very chaotic, personality, doesn't she? Eh, no, I think "ditz" is the proper terminology, here.
I'm kinda with Tome on the whole "How did a person like her become a seer" question.
As an aside, I really like these conversations. I have a weakness for in-game banter, though.
That spider boss was a bit on the tough side. Not too bad, though.
"Gained: A lot of Xen". Best treasure-find ever. Stay classy, Dell.
It's official. Mel and Lise are the only sane people in this party. Which make the hijinks of Dell and Tome stand out more. Comedic foils for the win?
Fin! That was a cute game!

General Observations:
Call me crazy, but I actually enjoy spamming attack in this game. Might be how things are animated, and having multiple attacks/actions, tough.
I noticed a few text cut-offs in this game. Which is a huge crime when the dialog is as great as it is.
When you're talking to the Elder, Tome is suddenly called Lore. I'm 99.999% sure this is a mistake, rather than a pun on words/definitions.

Summary:
It's a solid game in most respects, but stands out in it's character antics interactions most of all. I'd really like to think that there is something behind that "Episode 1 of 3" notation, but I'm not sure if it's going to happen.

BOTTOM LINE: 3/5

Side note on ratings (since there is/was/will be somewhat of a spate on what rating means what between each user):

1/5 -> Terrible. Forget about hitting an audience. The game is so bug-ridden, or otherwise unplayable, that what entertainment can be found in the game has a hard time coming to the surface.

2/5 -> Bad but playable. I had a poor experience with the game. When played by a player the game actually caters to, it would serve it's purpose.

3/5 -> Average. A solid experience, but snags somewhere along the line cause it to be held back from being "good".

4/5 -> Good. I enjoyed the experience, and have no qualms supporting it if was considered for a featured game (if it wasn't featured already).

5/5 -> Excellent. Among the paragons of gaming experiences, and instant feature material in my humble opinion (if it wasn't featured already).

Thanks for the review Marrend~
I've been messing with the game recently, fixing some things up, so I'll double check things to make sure I get them all - especially the word cut-offs. Also, odd that no-one ever mentioned that 'Lore' thing before. You got some sharp eyes there, pardner.

I'm glad you enjoyed the craziness of the game and rest assured, there will be another in the series coming along eventually. I has me some plannage~
unity
You're magical to me.
