Are these graphics custom or do they come from an actual game? These graphics just make me want to go play Wonderboy, Violinist of Hameln, and Super Ninja Kun.

They are custom, referencing lots of SNES games. I am trying to learn how to pixel a bit better. :)

This one screen looks a tad empty, and the trees look a bit ugly (evident in comparison to the other screens)
Oh, and also, the house looks like it's too... Umm... Alone (?)
Like it's standing there amidst the nothing. Maybe if you put in a door...
But more importantly, redo those trees, they're early NES quality (construction-wise) with a rather poor shading - that becomes evident with everything else being so awesome shaded!
That fountain also looks like amg i'm put a fountain here to enliven the map omg omg but it kinda didn't work >_>
Anyways, this looks awesome. :O :O :O

Yeah I have lots of work to do on this one. I certainly know what you mean by the trees looking a bit flat/poorly shaded. I'm still learning so it's difficult. Maybe I'll scale it down just a little and add more contrast. I'd like to add more stone walls, etc to make the fountain fit the area a bit more. I also need to redo the parallax as it's a pretty boring placeholder. Maybe having NPCs walking around will help too. Thanks. :)
