This project was inspired by a joke LockeZ made in the forums: "Make a non-linear western rpg shooter starring a black-colored pikachu with sunglasses, a trenchcoat and twin 8mm pistols, who can target the individual body parts of enemy pokemon using Lightning Time to slow down combat and aim"
...And so, yes, this is actually happening. Except maybe the non-linear part.

Our objective is to develop a Wild West-themed Shooter ABS for RM2k3.
For now, a tech demo release is all we're aiming for. We will later decide if the project will evolve (ha!) into a complete game.

-Help Dark Pikachu fight off the bandits of the West: Machop, Zubat, Golbat and Meowth.
-Similar to the SNES game Wild Guns: Aim and shoot at enemies when they appear.
-Features HP and MP gauges, an auto-reloading magazine and a Kill count.
-Use the arrow keys to move the reticle around the screen and aim at enemy pokemon.
-Hold Z to shoot.
-Hold X and Left/Right to dodge to the sides.
-Hold X and Up to strike down a random enemy with Thunderbolt.
-Hold X and Down to raise a Light Screen that shields you from enemy attacks.
-Press Shift when you have at least 33 MP to activate Lightning Time to freeze enemies.

Tech demo update: v1.2

A new version of the tech demo is available!

Here are the changes:
-Information on the controls are shown at the beginning of the game.
-A muzzle flash has been added to enemy fire to give players more time to react and dodge incoming bullets.
-The sound effect's volume for enemy fire has been increased a little for the same reason.
-Lightning Time now costs only 33 MP and prevents enemies from firing.
-Light Screen now lasts more than twice as long as it used to, giving the player more invincibility time.
-The damage the player takes has been slightly increased to better balance the difficulty.
-Automatic reloading of ammo now also happens when you don't shoot for a while.

Mouse controls have their pros and cons. I'm just unsure whether they'd be fit for the gameplay or not.

By the way, I just want to announce that the Tech Demo is available.
keyboard "mouse" controls have worse cons and...what would be the pros for that? :P

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.
Well, the current demo has aiming slow down when shooting. That's something that's mechanically interesting, but you can't do with mouse controls.
Downloaded twice and the rtp too. 'File system3 cannot be opened' error pops up at start up. Really want to play this.
Hmm, I don't know of a system3 file in the game folder. It's odd that you have an error with that. I didn't think the game called on that file at all.

System3.png is also the name of an RTP file. If you're missing that, you can get it right here.

Just put that in your RTP System folder. Hope that helps.
That worked, but now it says file vehicle could not be opened. RTP installation must be corrupted. I will just download the rpt from another source. Thanks and kudos (think that means bye in some language, not sure)

The new rtp worked and I have also reviewed the game specially for the mmm event. But I wont tell you what I have written on the review, the suspense.
