A short but very emotional tale!

And now something really different from the usual games I play!
I wanted to try a visual novel and this is a really short one, despite that I felt that it had character and it was really well done. First, it is translated in various languages, and the versions I played (english and italian) were well written and translated, with no typos or issues.

Graphics are black and white, simple but effective. Characters are rapresented by black silhuettes (the view is 1st person) over blurry black and white backgrounds, and there is really few action on the screen, and no choices or gameplay of any sort, no interaction at all: it's just a story you have to read while listening to the (very good) music! The story is about a dying person that recalls the last moments and happy events of his life. It's an intriguing idea and I absolutely liked the narrative, how the protagonist speaks and describe the various situations and moments: it's a highly emotional story whose strong point is the captivating first person narrative.

There isn't much else to say since I want to avoid spoiling the story, but let me tell you that it is not predictable, and at first can give you some red herrings about what is going to happen next.

I liked the choice of silhouettes and also the font used

Verdict
Great music, good writing and narration, and ok graphics. Yes, I expected more on the graphic and visual aspect (maybe less "generic" menu and backround images. Also the character's names in bright colors contrast too much with the greyscale of the images and feel out of place), and I also expected a longer and more fleshed out story, but this is still and enjoyable and emotional experience with a powerful ending and message that is probably the best part (but the buildup that leads to the ending is pretty well done too) of the entire game... well if this can be called "game" since there is no gameplay of sort and this is just a short and rather simple tale, but one well told and well translated.

My rating is 3.5, not bad at all, but I expected just a bit more and some different (mainly stylistic) choices and some more content (and maybe backstory). Anyway, good job, this is a beautiful story and a deep emotional experience!
