An Artistic Masterpiece

What is clam digger? For some, it is a joke thrown into ATHF as just some dumb game Meatwad tries to push off on Oog (and others).

But what is it really? What does the game MEAN?

Well, in order to properly analyze this game, one should look at what the purpose is. Your dear friend Tyrone calls you up only to brag about how he can dig up more clams than you.

Wait. Stop there.

Your best friend calls you out of nowhere just to brag about a seemingly meaningless ability. I believe this is a symbolic gesture in which all of mankind attempts to continuously one-up each other in a never ending competitive cycle, when really aren’t we all in this game called life together?

“Nu-uh, boy” says the main protagonist, in a seemingly taunting manner to invoke the spirit of competition between the main protagonist and his best friend. They both drive to the beach to prove their merit on the sandy ridges of what I can only assume is New Jersey.

But wait. The plot thickens. It seems all the rest of society has challenged their best friends to the competitive new sport of clam digging, so much so that it has left others high and dry, simply wanting to find their place in life. Isn’t that all of us though? We try so hard to differentiate ourselves from the crowd, even if it means stepping on others? There are even innocent beings in the way, challenging your moral compass every step of the way.

You see an open parking spot after hours of searching, but the passages are too narrow and a person is walking towards your vehicle. Do you kill that person to prove your worth at the noble art of Clam Digging, or do you look elsewhere? No. You go forward, plow through the resistance as our capitalist creed wills us to.

Only, hold on a second.

Yep, that’s a compact car.

There is no end, just like there is no end to the competitive cycle so many of us fall in a trap to, even if you run over those who would otherwise help you on the way. I believe this game is an artistic masterpiece, and truly deserves only the highest praise. 5/5.

(On a serious note, this game is exactly what it should be. It is clam digger to a T, as per what the description is on the show. What did everyone else expect?)
