Review for Are Pee Gee Maker Vee Ex Ayce
by Ratty 732583

Hey guys this is a game by Ratty 12 20 and I played this game because I heard that it was one of the all-time greats and that it had an epic storyline with many many good characters and story and subplots. So I decided to download it by clicking on the Download button on the top-right of the page, but how I got there was I typed "rpgmaker.net" into the URL bar and pressed "Enter" and waited for the site to load. Then I clicked on the search bar on the top right and I typed in "Ratty" and I looked for Ratty's username and I clicked on his username, then I clicked "Developer - Games". Then I searched for the game in that list and I found it and then I clicked on it using my mouse. It took me to the game's gamepage. Then I didn't click "Reviews" like you've just done, but instead I clicked on Download and waited for the file to Download, which took less than 5 minutes but a little more than 1. And right click the file and click on "Unzip". Then I selected "Unzip to New Folder" so it created a New Folder within my Downloads folder and I opened it up and what do you know there was an .exe, so I clicked on the .exe and pressed and so it started playing the game.

Oh no King have you been missing chest day or something, and... got dang where are your pants man I thought we talked about this

Story

So you enter the game as Erick and he's getting a mission from the Keeng but he doesn't want to go. Immediately you start to ship Erick and Keeng because they would make such a cute couple and the Keeng has got nice perky breasts.

You enter Teh Forst ov Hope, which is a largely non-linear portion of the game where you can craft items using a robust combination system, hunt animals and use their hide to make leather jackets for your party, with lots of side quests that you can attempt in any order. The best way that I could describe it is Minecraft multiplied by GTA V. AAA games, take notice on the design.

In all seriousness, though, Are Pee Gee accurately parodies prevalent flaws in RPG Maker VX Ace games, like how most games make you mash attack to win, and how they reward players by making them feel smart rather than actually testing if they're smart or not. Erick and co. spot a 3-boulder puzzle that requires one move to solve (and has multiple solutions) and immediately they lament over how hard it might be.

Soon, harrowing plot twists occur, subplots involving Is A Bell's horrific battle with kanser and AIDS and the herp de derpees so she's pretty much a goner. Arriving at the Coney Island Disco Palace you realize your actors are already Lv99 maxed-out but you don't care because that cute little orc is bobbing his head and giving you that eye like he's undressing you in his mind so you need to find a safe place. Battlers have cute names and faces pasted on them.

There's a neat cameo at the end of the game. My sweet love returns - the one we all needed to fix our present and future and past wrongs. Too bad she only lasts for a little while. If a sequel's in order, I'd like to see her as a returning character.

It all ends on a magnificent climax, which leaves you begging for more.

Graphics

The cute babbys are slimes. Lots of cute meetings with these portraits that are probably drawn by Ratty. In any case, they're dirty and flirty depictions of our favourite RTP default heroes. One of my favourite maps graphically is the disco scene just because it has Mr. Orc bobbing his head to the beat, Sahagin doing some moonwalks (that was the moment I realized I was playing a true masterpiece) and a giant jiggling his green layers of blobby fat to the techno beats. The only thing I would have loved to see was more graphical tweaks like a disco ball, chairs and other things that constituted a disco. There is Edward's face pasted on a vampire, but I'm afraid the vampire is not glittery enough to be considered canon.

There's also this great filmed sequences where the game uses real footage spliced with the game to create a sense of photorealism, that is, the genre of art that encompasses painting, drawing and other graphic mediums, in which an artist studies a photograph and then attempts to reproduce the image as realistically as possible in another medium. That was from Wikipedia.

This is the tip I get. Thanks RPG MAKER Vee Ex Ayce you suck (it's true though, this strategy works 99.7912 percent of the time

Gameplay

You can defeat all enemies solely using attack. There's no specials nor magic. All your party members are level 99. It's part of the parody. Even though I think kory_toombs' review clearly missed the point by saying the gameplay was tragic (it is so for a reason), I would like to see a joke game like this with better gameplay and a longer duration.

Serious Time

This is a game that is essentially posed as a "troll game" and one that shouldn't be taken seriously. In all seriousness, there's a lot that this game does right and that's actually legitimately good about it. It still has better pacing than most RPG Maker games out there, it keeps things light and fresh instead of being overly ominous, and it doesn't flood you with walls of pretentious blahs. Comedy is one of the hardest things to write, even at its most basic, and this game is a good sign for Ratty as a writer.

Pros/Cons
+ Nice portraits
+ Accurate parody
+ Good sense of humour and writing
- Maps lack detail
- Random encounter per step room made me cry
- Wish it was longer
- Wish it had more substance

All I can say is that I had quite some fun playing this game, and it doesn't take long to play, so I recommend you try it out too.

That's my review of Are Pee Gee Maker Vee Ex Ayce, it's the best game evur, it's not really, but it makes you laugh. I give it a C+ grade and a 3 stars out of 5.

Heh. Thanks for the review! There are a lot more games on this site that need one over this, however. :P

Yeah I just was looking for funny games and trying to review games that I complete. This one's easy to complete coz it's so short. It's a symptom of me playing too many games at once.
Actually, when you enter the encounter room, go back IMMEDIATELY, so you can proceed quicker.
