BLOG MOVED!

Much has changed in the years since the Old Gods have perished.

The world continues it's slow descent into oblivion, arbiters of the old order continue their struggle from the shadows, and the nations of the world, formerly oblivious to the Eldritch powers that bore this crisis, begin to harness it's potential for their own gain.

Nero, a man born from such strange powers is thrust into a world of ancient battles, New Gods, and an all powerful enigma who watches over all from his very subconscious.

The long awaited conclusion to the cult classic RPGmaker game; Demon Legacy.

- A note on character commands -

Each character has their own set of specific commands. Not all characters can use items but such characters can make up for this handicap in many ways.

FAQ:

Q: Is this the finished game? All of it?

A: Yes, this is done. There is no "Part I Part II" stuff here. It's done. Finished. Completed.

Q: What about part 1?

A: Disregard it. It's canned. I rewrote the whole thing, or rather reverted the story to what I had planned to do before the game was delayed by waiting for artwork that never panned out.

Q: Do I have to play Demon Legacy in order to understand this?

A: Not really. There are some nods to the first game but nothing that would ruin the experience for newcomers.

I love the way you fight with the main character.
Just got to the end of the demo :) Love love love it so far, and honestly can't wait for its completion. Please tell me this game is still being worked on! I'll submit a review sometime soon.

I was ecstatic to hear the name of the seer they're going to visit... It better be who I think it is or some murdering will have to happen :D
Thanks for the comment, Kuneko. Let it be known that the game's work is ongoing unless I say otherwise, which barring sudden death or some kind of tragedy, will not be happening.
I loved Demon Legacy Nightblade but there was always one tiny thing that bothered me. RPG Maker 2003's battle system had a tendancy to play animations and then process the damage information meaning that long animations would take forever to play even though the damage had already been displayed. I noticed that this carried through to your game. I was wondering if you had fixed that for Phantom Legacy and if you could tell me how you did it? The only solution I've come up with is to create tedious battle events to offset this.
All I did was update my RPG_RT with a patched version that fixed this issue. I think I remember grabbing it from a gamingw.net sticky... So yes; the issue is resolved in this game.
It's been about a million years since the last demo of Phantom Legacy, Nightblade. D:
It's done when it's done. Im even considering forgoing the whole second demo deal and just finishing the game and releasing.
Yes. I hate games with tons of demos. Don't waste your time releasing fucking demos, just work on getting the whole game done.
The story is standard fare thus far (anti-hero lives in a world where everyone seems to know everything about everything except said anti-hero). I've played up until the Necropolis (Thanatos' room, currently) and I must say, I have a real problem with the dreadfully SLOW pacing of cut-scene events.

Messages display very slowly, and there's way too long of a delay once they've finished scrolling. It's very, VERY annoying.

I admire Nero's play style. Unique. Keep up the hard work!
Thanks for playing Coullard. You're right, and I've already taken steps to fix it. The default text speed has already been increased dramatically, which in turn will make the pacing much faster. Also; the delays in text have been halved.
Glad to hear it. Oh, before I forget. Not sure if this was mentioned, but Nero can keep learning the same skill over and over (i.e. Gehanna's Flame) after already absorbing it. Might wanna throw in an if case in the code to prevent that or show a message saying he's already learned a skill.

Keep up the good work!
An update today... what was added, exactly?
Hmm...

Cool, an update this very minute. XD
Sorry Casey, it was just a new title screen. I'll have something new tommorow.
So I finished this Demo a long time ago and decided to play it again recently and I wanna know
SPOILERS:What the hell happened to Slade?Whys his face so black?
So I've been playing this game since last night and it's really interesting. My only problem is the seemingly complete lack of explanation of the way each character works.

I managed to figure out Nero, but I got Lilith right before in important battle so it's a little annoying. But at the same time, it would break the atmosphere to take the time to explain how they work in the middle of such a scene...

Maybe have some sort of key item like a battle book or something that can explain the commands? I dunno.

But it's a good game so far! I dunno why I've been avoiding it for so long!
Hmm, maybe a jumped the gun a little. Lilith seems to be a traditional character like Slade. The command names just threw me for a loop! Sorry!
You're right, Nero isn't very self explanatory. Something that's being fixed in the overhaul, actually.
