A long time ago I was writing a novel based on the adventures of a group of young adults. Along their travels they met a man named Rolf, a crabby jerk of an ass who joined them for a time. As my favourite character, I was rather disappointed when he was slain by three corrupt guards. Later that night I had a dream about his travels and decided that I'd make an RPG tribute to his adventures as the figment of my imagination!

Rolf travels through a fully fleshed out world with many friends and foes. He gets tangled up in the affairs of gods on his way to escape his existence as only the figment of a child's whim. A complete range of environments await him as he learns more of the characters behind his imprisonment, and will offer the player a range of challenges in navigating through the world. The world map is a tame location meant to be explored and enjoyed, while the dungeons boast challenges that will test seasoned adventurers.

Rolf, being an elf, has a certain level of animal empathy and as such will attract certain animals found in the world. Rolf was always much better around animals than people! It is completely optional for you to find additional party members; however, it's highly advisable that you search them out.

The overall theme of this RPG is meant to be appreciated as a random event of adventure, much like a child set into a room full of toys. The rather rapid change in environment was designed to keep the player interested, and to show off as many different elements as possible. The game is fairly linear; however, it's important to note that there is one critical bonus area that was made to tie together the concept that there is a higher power keeping Rolf here. That will become very apparent when you start investigating what happened when Rolf is first slain.

The level up system of the characters in this RPG have been fleshed out: points will be awarded for every level. So beyond the statistics that I've set for each character, you, the player, have the ability to distribute points into an area you want to specialize with that character. The theft-type character could easily become the tank if the points are spent wisely. This is all explained better in the game, so I hope that you read the little tutorial that has been included.

I believe that this game is a fun little time waster for people bored with the traditional 'goody-two-shoes' characters, and just want the main character to go around with a wisecracking attitude. I challenge anyone who bothered to read the entire description of this game to beat this RPG and get the good ending!

I decided to pull this old game out for the 'release something weekend' event, so I hope you all like playing it as much as I did making it.

Good gaming!

So for the 20 or so people that downloaded this game yesterday, This is important for you to read. I've discovered that in my last minute changes to 'A child's dream' that there is a bug in terms of an important event leading into the mountain environment that stops the game in it's track. I've fixed it, which will allow the game to continue so anyone downloading the game will not experience this problem.

However, to everyone that downloaded the first version of this game, I must apologise for this error and if you still wish to play through to the end I can help. All you need to do is download the most recent version of the game and then transfer your save data to the main directory. I've included a little bonus weapon to those people that had to suffer through this set back.

To everyone playing this game, Thank you and I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I did making it!

Everything is looking more and more solid, so I approved. Some of the maps could use more work, but you're off to a good start.
Is there any sort of method for figuring out the solution to the letter puzzle in the sky castle?
Well, there are notes scattered through-out the sky castle which will give you 4 out of the 5 letters, and from there it's just a matter of looking at the possibilities of what letters will fit. Try exploring behind the outside of the castle, and the tower, and you should find a note in each chest giving you a hint.

Hope that helps!
