author=Dyhalto Reminds me of the Unlimited SaGa system.
I've never played Unlimited Saga actually. The concept was an amalgamation of ideas from Record of Agarest War 2, Riviera: The Promised Land, and Gungnir/Yggdra Union.
However, I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be similar! Node based dungeon systems aren't that unique as a general concept.(But they do save time!)
I've had a hankering to play Unlimited SaGa's tabletop'y system ever since I sold my PS2. Lots of 'TRAP! Roll to save!' type of stuff.
I hope this can satisfy that old ghost x3
author=Sailerius Oh, neat. This is almost exactly the same thing we're doing in our game.
I saw actually.
It's a good concept though. Works well for providing gameplay to simulate danger and travel in a visual novel type environment without the need for five million fully detailed maps.

Yeah, absolutely! The biggest benefit is that you're not limited by what you have tiles and animations for, so you can have so much more interesting and varied content.
