Well, shoot. Not available. Curse you, overzealous German copyright watchmen.

Oh well. I'll be leaving the country a few time over the course of the next months. I'll just watch it some time then.
Weird, I wonder what song did it. Well, if you can see it in a different country, cool. If not, I may be able to dropbox you the actual video file.

You could do that? If it's not too much extra trouble for you, that would be fantastic!

That should play the video right away. It was pretty easy to manage so let me know if Germany gets up in your grill again.

Awesome! Thanks a metric ton. I'm glad you gave me the opportunity to still watch this video.
And thanks for the shout-out, too. Fun fact, I don't own and have never used any kind of photoshop software, nor am I any good at digital art. All I did was copy-paste some MotW stuff and add the text to an existing photo using MS paint. But I'm glad it made you laugh regardless of the crappy quality.

I actually first came into contact with Undertale by watching ArtBane stream it. And though I have since come to realise the numerous flaws of the game, it still very much blew me away the first time. At one point, ArtBane did a genocide run as well, and it was very intense. And I agree that game developers have been ignoring the dark and traumatic side of combat and violence to a surprising degree. When inventing stories as a child, I always tried to circumvent the issue of murder and bad conscience by making sure the "bad guys" were always artificial, unfeeling, non-human beings. Which of course reduced the interesting ambivalence of "good vs. evil" to nothing. I really hope to see more games take a more compelling and convincing stance towards combat in the future.

Regarding voice acting, I do admit I've always enjoyed the thought of speaking Stoic's text, but I'm pretty sure my lack of training and slight German accent would disqualify me immediately. But weren't there a few people who voiced some characters for those animated videos by MotWFan? Their interpretations of the voice roles were pretty good, from what I remember.

Anyway, this was interesting. I'm looking forward to the next episode and the possible guest narrator.

P.S.: I don't care about the Oscars either. Sorry.
I know, I know. Nobody does. I don't mind that in and of itself, but it can grate on me when I mention something about it and someone inevitably goes "Oh, I don't care about the Oscars." It's like congrats, you're better than me. If I said that about sports everytime someone mentioned them, I'd have been shot in the street by now (that's not hyperbole, this is America after all). For the record, I find them interesting and enjoy trying to predict the results but more often than not, I don't endorse the results. Most of the time, they suck. But like I said there, a movie buff who follows them is in the best position to articulate why they're so inept sometimes.

Undertale's not perfect, it's twee/tumblr sensibility gets old sometimes but the meat of its deconstructive themes was profound, for reasons explained in the video of course.

That's fine. I wasn't trying to be dismissive or rude. While I am everything but a movie buff myself, I like it when people have interests they can get enthusiastic about. Just because I personally have no interest in something doesn't mean it has no value.

And yes, I fully agree with your second statement.
