What is it?
The DKCW engine is an HTML5 based game engine made using Scirra's Construct 2. When released, anyone using Construct 2 will be able to create their own broswer based Donkey Kong Country games, free for everyone to play.

What's it current status?
As of this post, and for the time being, the DKCW is still in development. What we want to do is gauge interest before continuing with development.

What can I do?
Simply play the demo made using the engine, give us feed back, and share the game with other people.

Current Engine Feature Set:
-Support for different characters with different stats (jump height, speed, etc...)*
-Blast Barrels
-Moving Platforms
-Walking/Jumping Enemies
-Flying Enemies
-Bananas!
-Flying Levels (With Funky Kong)*

*Implemented in the engine, but not shown in the demo.

Planned Feature Set:
-Implementation of Diddy, Dixie, and Kiddy
-Support for Animal Buddy Transformations
-Barrel Interaction (Pick Up/Throw)
-More stage features (Bouncy Tires, Crocodile Heads)
-Bonuses
-etc...

Eventually, the DKCX will have most of the features you've come to know and love from Nintendo and Rare's classic.

I hope Dixie is playable. I love helicoptering through every stage.

In terms of playable characters, at the least I want to implement all 4 of the "main" playable kongs and maybe some enemies as characters.

Don't add in that stupid baby kong. Whatever his name was. Diddy, Dixie, and DK ought to be all anyone needs! If anything, new animal-friends might be interesting.
Kiddy is my least favorite too, but I want the end users to have to do as little work as possible which may mean adding a bunch of features they might not ever use.

Enemies as characters might be something akin to Animal Buddy transformations. It was pretty cool to play as Krusha in DK64, so I want at least 1 playable kremling if not more.
The DK series had always fascinated me with it's awesome platforming graphics.
I played and enjoyed DK (1,2),DK(64) and Dk(Wii).
The only game I disliked was DKC3.
Holy golden bananas, Diddy!

You got yourself a curious monkey. :)
This is very cool; I'd love to see fan-made DKC games. Subscribed!
